< 1 Corinthians 8 >

1 Now concerning those things that are sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up; but charity edifieth.
Ugbu a, nʼokwu banyere nri a chụrụ nʼaja nye arụsị, anyị ma na onye ọbụla nwere amamihe. Amamihe na-afụli mmadụ elu mee ka ọ nyaa isi. Ma ịhụnanya na-ewuli elu.
2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he hath not yet known as he ought to know.
Ọ bụrụ na ọ dị onye sị na ya maara ihe niile, onye ahụ amatabeghị ihe o kwesiri ịmata.
3 But if any any love God, the same is known by him.
Ma onye ahụ hụrụ Chineke nʼanya bụ onye ọ maara.
4 But as for the meats that are sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but one.
Ya mere, ihe banyere nri a chụrụ nʼaja nye arụsị, anyị maara na “Arụsị abụghị ihe ọbụla nʼụwa”, matakwa na “Chi ọzọ adịghị ma ọ bụghị otu Chineke.”
5 For although there be that are called gods, either in heaven or on earth (for there be gods many, and lords many).
A sịkwa na arụsị a na-akpọ chi dị, ma ha nọ nʼeluigwe maọbụ nʼụwa (nʼezie ọtụtụ “chi” na “ndị nwe mmadụ” dị otu a dị).
6 Yet to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Ma nʼebe anyị nọ, anyị maara na ọ bụ naanị otu Chineke dị, onye bụ Nna, onye kere ihe niile, na onye anyị na-adị ndụ nʼihi ya. Ọ bụkwa naanị otu Onyenwe anyị ka anyị nwere, onye bụ Jisọs Kraịst, onye e sitere nʼaka ya kee ihe niile, onye na-enyekwa anyị ndụ.
7 But there is not knowledge in every one. For some until this present, with conscience of the idol: eat as a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
Ma otu ọ dị, ọ bụghị onye ọbụla nwere ihe ọmụma a.
8 But meat doth not commend us to God. For neither, if we eat, shall we have the more; nor, if we eat not, shall we have the less.
9 But take heed lest perhaps this your liberty become a stumblingblock to the weak.
Ma lezienụ anya, otu o si dị, ka ike unu nwere ime ihe ọbụla dị unu mma, ghara ịghọ ihe ịsọ ngọngọ dịrị ndị na-adịghị ike nʼokwukwe ha.
10 For if a man see him that hath knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not his conscience, being weak, be emboldened to eat those things which are sacrificed to idols?
Nʼihi na ọ bụrụ na ndị ọzọ ahụ gị, gị onye nwere akọnuche, ka ị nọ, na-eri nri nʼụlọ arụsị, ọ bụ na ha agaghị eche na ha bụ ndị okwukwe ha na-esighị ike, ga-enwe obi ike soro gị rie nri a gọrọ arụsị?
11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ hath died?
Nʼụzọ dị otu a, ndị kwere ekwe na-adịghị ike, ndị Kraịst nwụrụ nʼihi ha, na-esite nʼihe mmụta gị laa nʼiyi.
12 Now when you sin thus against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
Cheta na ọ bụ mmehie i mere megide Kraịst, mgbe unu na-emegide mmụọ nwanne gị nʼime Kraịst, nʼihi nʼakọnuche ha esighị ike.
13 Wherefore, if meat scandalize my brother, I will never eat flesh, lest I should scandalize my brother. (aiōn g165)
Nʼihi nke a, ọ bụrụ na ihe oriri ga-eme ka nwanna m mee mmehie, agaghị m eri anụ ọzọ, ka m ghara ime ka nwanna m maa nʼọnya. (aiōn g165)
