Psalms 94
1 O God of vengeances, Jehovah, God of vengeances, shine forth;
Θεέ των εκδικήσεων, Κύριε, Θεέ των εκδικήσεων, εμφάνηθι.
2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth, render the reward to the proud.
Υψώθητι, Κριτά της γής· απόδος ανταπόδοσιν εις τους υπερηφάνους.
3 How long shall the wicked, O Jehovah, how long shall the wicked triumph?
Έως πότε οι ασεβείς, Κύριε, έως πότε οι ασεβείς θέλουσι θριαμβεύει;
4 [How long] shall they utter [and] speak insolence — all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
Έως πότε θέλουσι προφέρει και λαλεί σκληρά; θέλουσι καυχάσθαι πάντες οι εργάται της ανομίας;
5 They crush thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thine inheritance;
Τον λαόν σου, Κύριε, καταθλίβουσι και την κληρονομίαν σου κακοποιούσι.
6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless,
Την χήραν και τον ξένον φονεύουσι και θανατόνουσι τους ορφανούς.
7 And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard [it].
Και λέγουσι, δεν θέλει ιδεί ο Κύριος ουδέ θέλει νοήσει ο Θεός του Ιακώβ.
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
Εννοήσατε, οι άφρονες μεταξύ του λαού· και οι μωροί, πότε θέλετε φρονιμεύσει;
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
Ο φυτεύσας το ωτίον, δεν θέλει ακούσει; ο πλάσας τον οφθαλμόν, δεν θέλει ιδεί;
10 He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct — he that teacheth man knowledge?
Ο σωφρονίζων τα έθνη, δεν θέλει ελέγξει; ο διδάσκων τον άνθρωπον γνώσιν;
11 Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Ο Κύριος γνωρίζει τους διαλογισμούς των ανθρώπων, ότι είναι μάταιοι.
12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jah, and whom thou teachest out of thy law;
Μακάριος ο άνθρωπος, τον οποίον σωφρονίζεις, Κύριε, και διά του νόμου σου διδάσκεις αυτόν·
13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
διά να αναπαύης αυτόν από των ημερών της συμφοράς, εωσού σκαφθή λάκκος εις τον ασεβή.
14 For Jehovah will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance;
Διότι δεν θέλει απορρίψει ο Κύριος τον λαόν αυτού, και την κληρονομίαν αυτού δεν θέλει εγκαταλείψει.
15 For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
Επειδή η κρίσις θέλει επιστρέψει εις την δικαιοσύνην, και θέλουσιν ακολουθήσει αυτήν πάντες οι ευθείς την καρδίαν.
16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?
Τις θέλει σηκωθή υπέρ εμού κατά των πονηρευομένων; τις θέλει παρασταθή υπέρ εμού κατά των εργατών της ανομίας;
17 If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
Εάν ο Κύριος δεν με εβοήθει, παρ' ολίγον ήθελε κατοικήσει ψυχή μου εν τη σιωπή.
18 When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
Ότε έλεγον, ωλίσθησεν ο πους μου, το έλεός σου, Κύριε, με εβοήθει.
19 In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul.
Εν τω πλήθει των αμηχανιών της καρδίας μου, αι παρηγορίαι σου εύφραναν την ψυχήν μου.
20 Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law?
Μήπως έχει μετά σου συγκοινωνίαν ο θρόνος της ανομίας, όστις μηχανάται αδικίαν αντί νόμου;
21 They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
Αυτοί εφορμώσι κατά της ψυχής του δικαίου και αίμα αθώον καταδικάζουσιν.
22 But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge.
Αλλ' ο Κύριος είναι εις εμέ καταφύγιον και ο Θεός μου το φρούριον της ελπίδος μου.
23 And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God will cut them off.
Και θέλει επιστρέψει επ' αυτούς την ανομίαν αυτών και εν τη πονηρία αυτών θέλει αφανίσει αυτούς· Κύριος ο Θεός ημών θέλει αφανίσει αυτούς.
