Psalms 74
1 An instruction: of Asaph. Why, O God, hast thou cast off for ever? [why] doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
Ein Maskil Asaphs. Warum, o Gott, hast du uns für immer verworfen, warum bist du so grimmig erzürnt über die Schafe deiner Weide?
2 Remember thine assembly, which thou hast purchased of old, which thou hast redeemed [to be] the portion of thine inheritance, this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
Gedenke deiner Gemeinde, die du vor Alters erworben, zum Stamme deines Eigentums erlöst hast, an den Zionsberg, auf dem du gewohnt hast.
3 Lift up thy steps unto the perpetual desolations: everything in the sanctuary hath the enemy destroyed.
Erhebe deine Schritte zu den ewigen Trümmern: alles hat der Feind im Heiligtume verderbt.
4 Thine adversaries roar in the midst of thy place of assembly; they set up their signs [for] signs.
Deine Widersacher brüllten inmitten deiner Versammlungsstätte, stellten ihre Zeichen als Zeichen auf.
5 [A man] was known as he could lift up axes in the thicket of trees;
Er thut sich kund, wie einer, der im Dickicht der Bäume die Äxte emporhebt.
6 And now they break down its carved work altogether, with hatchets and hammers.
Und nun sein Schnitzwerk insgesamt mit Beil und Hämmern zerschlagen sie.
7 They have set on fire thy sanctuary, they have profaned the habitation of thy name to the ground.
Sie haben dein Heiligtum in Brand gesteckt, die Wohnung deines Namens bis zum Boden entweiht.
8 They said in their heart, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all God's places of assembly in the land.
Sie dachten in ihrem Sinn: Ihre Brut insgesamt -! Sie haben alle heiligen Versammlungsstätten im Lande verbrannt.
9 We see not our signs; there is no more any prophet, neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
Unsere Zeichen erblicken wir nicht; kein Prophet ist mehr da, und wir haben niemand, der da wüßte, bis wann.
10 How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy contemn thy name for ever?
Bis wann, o Gott, soll der Widersacher lästern, soll der Feind deinen Namen immerfort verhöhnen?
11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, and thy right hand? [pluck it] out of thy bosom: consume [them].
Warum ziehst du deine Hand und deine Rechte zurück? Ziehe sie heraus aus deinem Busen und vertilge!
12 But God is my king of old, accomplishing deliverances in the midst of the earth.
Gott ist ja mein König von Alters her, der hilfreiche Thaten auf Erden gethan hat.
13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength; thou didst break the heads of the monsters on the waters:
Du hast durch deine Macht das Meer gespalten, die Häupter der Seeungeheuer auf dem Wasser zerbrochen.
14 Thou didst break in pieces the heads of leviathan, thou gavest him to be meat to those that people the desert.
Du hast die Häupter des Leviathan zerschmettert, gabst ihn der Schar der Wüstentiere zum Fraße.
15 Thou didst cleave fountain and torrent, thou driedst up ever-flowing rivers.
Du ließest Quell und Bach hervorbrechen, du ließest immerfließende Ströme versiegen.
16 The day is thine, the night also is thine; thou hast prepared the moon and the sun:
Dein ist der Tag und dein ist die Nacht, du hast das Licht und die Sonne hergerichtet.
17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth; summer and winter — thou didst form them.
Du hast alle Grenzen der Erde festgestellt; Sommer und Winter, du hast sie geschaffen.
18 Remember this, that an enemy hath reproached Jehovah, and a foolish people have contemned thy name.
Gedenke daran! Der Feind lästert, Jahwe, und ein thörichtes Volk verhöhnt deinen Namen.
19 Give not up the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast; forget not the troop of thine afflicted for ever.
Gieb den Raubtieren nicht das Leben deiner Taube preis, vergiß nicht für immer das Leben deiner Elenden!
20 Have respect unto the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the dwellings of violence.
Blicke auf deinen Bund! Denn voll sind die Schlupfwinkel des Landes von Stätten der Gewaltthat.
21 Oh let not the oppressed one return ashamed; let the afflicted and needy praise thy name.
Laß den Unterdrückten nicht mit Schanden davon gehn; laß die Elenden und Armen deinen Namen preisen!
22 Rise up, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day;
Auf, o Gott! Führe deinen Streit! Gedenke an die Schmach, die dir unaufhörlich von dem Thoren widerfährt!
23 Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: the tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.
Vergiß nicht das Lärmen deiner Feinde, das Toben deiner Widersacher, das beständig emporsteigt!
