Psalms 61

1 To the chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. [A Psalm] of David. Hear, O God, my cry; attend unto my prayer.

Dem Sangmeister auf Saitenspiel. Von David. Höre, o Gott, auf mein Rufen, horche auf mein Gebet.

2 From the end of the earth will I call unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: thou wilt lead me on to a rock which is too high for me.

Vom Ende der Erde rufe ich zu Dir, wenn mein Herz verzagt. Führe mich auf den Felsen, der höher ist denn ich.

3 For thou hast been a refuge for me, a strong tower from before the enemy.

Denn Du wardst meine Zuversicht, ein starker Turm vor dem Feinde.

4 I will sojourn in thy tent for ever; I will take refuge in the covert of thy wings. (Selah)

Laß weilen mich in Deinem Zelte ewiglich, mich verlassen auf Deiner Flügel Verborgenheit. (Selah)

5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows; thou hast given [me] the inheritance of those that fear thy name.

Denn Du, o Gott, hörst auf meine Gelübde, Du gibst mir das Besitztum derer, die Deinen Namen fürchten.

6 Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years shall be as many generations.

Du tust hinzu Tage zu des Königs Tagen, seine Jahre seien wie Geschlecht und Geschlecht.

7 He shall abide before God for ever: bestow loving-kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.

Er wird sitzen ewiglich vor Gott. O verschaffe Barmherzigkeit und Wahrheit, lasse sie ihn bewahren.

8 So will I sing forth thy name for ever, performing my vows from day to day.

Dann will ich immerfort Psalmen singen Deinem Namen, indem ich Dir meine Gelübde bezahle Tag für Tag.
