Psalms 29

1 A Psalm of David. Give unto Jehovah, ye sons of the mighty ones, give unto Jehovah glory and strength;

Bringt her Jehovah, ihr Söhne Gottes, bringt her Jehovah Herrlichkeit und Stärke!

2 Give unto Jehovah the glory of his name; worship Jehovah in holy splendour.

Bringt her Jehovah die Herrlichkeit Seines Namens, betet an Jehovah in der Pracht der Heiligkeit!

3 The voice of Jehovah is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth, — Jehovah upon great waters.

Die Stimme Jehovahs ist auf den Wassern, der Gott der Herrlichkeit donnert, Jehovah auf vielen Wassern.

4 The voice of Jehovah is powerful; the voice of Jehovah is full of majesty.

Die Stimme Jehovahs ist mit Kraft; Jehovahs Stimme ist mit Ehre.

5 The voice of Jehovah breaketh cedars; yea, Jehovah breaketh the cedars of Lebanon:

Die Stimme Jehovahs zerbricht die Zedern und Jehovah zerbricht die Zedern des Libanon.

6 And he maketh them to skip like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young buffalo.

Und Er läßt sie hüpfen wie ein Kalb; den Libanon und den Sirjon wie den Sohn der Einhörner.

7 The voice of Jehovah cleaveth out flames of fire.

Die Stimme Jehovahs haut die Flammen des Feuers.

8 The voice of Jehovah shaketh the wilderness; Jehovah shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

Jehovahs Stimme erschüttert die Wüste, Jehovah erschüttert die Wüste Kadesch.

9 The voice of Jehovah maketh the hinds to calve, and layeth bare the forests; and in his temple doth every one say, Glory!

Jehovahs Stimme macht die Hindinnen kreißen, und entblößt die Wälder. Und in Seinem Tempel sagt alles Herrlichkeit!

10 Jehovah sitteth upon the flood; yea, Jehovah sitteth as king for ever.

Jehovah sitzt bei der Flut, und Jehovah sitzt als König in Ewigkeit.

11 Jehovah will give strength unto his people; Jehovah will bless his people with peace.

Jehovah wird Seinem Volk Stärke geben, Jehovah wird Sein Volk im Frieden segnen.
