Psalms 24

1 Of David. A Psalm. The earth is Jehovah's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Psaume de David. La terre est à l'Éternel, et tout ce qu'elle contient. Ainsi que le monde et ceux qui l'habitent.

2 For it was he that founded it upon seas, and established it upon floods.

C'est Lui qui l'a établie sur les rives des mers Et qui en a jeté les fondements sur les bords des fleuves.

3 Who shall ascend into the mount of Jehovah? and who shall stand in his holy place?

Qui pourra monter à la montagne de l'Éternel, Et qui pourra subsister dans son saint lieu?

4 He that hath blameless hands and a pure heart; who lifteth not up his soul unto vanity, nor sweareth deceitfully:

C'est l'homme qui a les mains nettes et le coeur pur, Dont l'âme ne se porte pas vers le mensonge. Et qui ne jure pas pour tromper.

5 He shall receive blessing from Jehovah, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Il obtiendra de l'Éternel la bénédiction. Et, du Dieu de son salut, la miséricorde.

6 This is the generation of them that seek unto him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. (Selah)

Telle est la race de ceux qui te cherchent. De ceux qui recherchent ta face; telle est la race de Jacob! (Pause)

7 Lift up your heads, ye gates, and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.

Portes, élevez vos voûtes! Ouvrez-vous toutes grandes, portes éternelles, Et le Roi de gloire entrera.

8 Who is this King of glory? Jehovah strong and mighty, Jehovah mighty in battle.

Qui est ce Roi de gloire? C'est l'Éternel, le fort, le puissant, L'Éternel, puissant dans les batailles.

9 Lift up your heads, ye gates; yea, lift up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.

Portes, élevez vos voûtes! Élevez-les, portes éternelles. Et le Roi de gloire entrera.

10 Who is he, this King of glory? Jehovah of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Selah)

Qui est-il, ce Roi de gloire? C'est l'Éternel des armées; C'est lui qui est le Roi de gloire! (Pause)
