Psalms 10
1 Why, Jehovah, standest thou afar off? [Why] hidest thou thyself in times of distress?
¿Por qué te mantienes alejado, Yahvé? ¿Por qué te escondes en los momentos difíciles?
2 The wicked, in his pride, doth hotly pursue the afflicted. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
En la arrogancia, los malvados persiguen a los débiles. Quedan atrapados en los esquemas que idean.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his soul's desire, and he blesseth the covetous; he contemneth Jehovah.
Porque el malvado se jacta de los antojos de su corazón. Bendice a los codiciosos y condena a Yahvé.
4 The wicked [saith], in the haughtiness of his countenance, He doth not search out: all his thoughts are, There is no God!
El malvado, en la soberbia de su rostro, no tiene espacio en sus pensamientos para Dios.
5 His ways always succeed; thy judgments are far above out of his sight; [as for] all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.
Sus caminos son prósperos en todo momento. Es arrogante, y tus leyes están lejos de su vista. En cuanto a todos sus adversarios, se burla de ellos.
6 He saith in his heart, I shall not be moved; from generation to generation I shall be in no adversity.
Dice en su corazón: “No seré sacudido. Por generaciones no tendré problemas”.
7 His mouth is full of cursing, and deceit, and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
Su boca está llena de maldiciones, engaños y opresión. Bajo su lengua hay maldad e iniquidad.
8 He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in the secret places doth he slay the innocent: his eyes watch for the wretched.
Está al acecho cerca de las aldeas. Desde las emboscadas, asesina a los inocentes. Sus ojos están secretamente puestos en los indefensos.
9 He lieth in wait secretly, like a lion in his thicket; he lieth in wait to catch the afflicted: he doth catch the afflicted, drawing him into his net.
Acecha en secreto como un león en su emboscada. Está al acecho para atrapar a los indefensos. Atrapa al indefenso cuando lo atrae en su red.
10 He croucheth, he boweth down, that the wretched may fall by his strong ones.
Los indefensos son aplastados. Se derrumban. Caen bajo su fuerza.
11 He saith in his heart, God hath forgotten, he hideth his face, he will never see [it].
Dice en su corazón: “Dios se ha olvidado. Oculta su rostro. Nunca lo verá”.
12 Arise, Jehovah; O God, lift up thy hand: forget not the afflicted.
¡Levántate, Yahvé! ¡Dios, levanta tu mano! No te olvides de los indefensos.
13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? He hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require [it].
Por qué el malvado condena a Dios, y decir en su corazón: “¿Dios no me pedirá cuentas?”
14 Thou hast seen [it], for thou thyself beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite by thy hand. The wretched committeth himself unto thee; thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.
Pero tú ves problemas y penas. Lo consideras para tomarlo en tu mano. Ayudas a la víctima y a los huérfanos.
15 Break thou the arm of the wicked, and as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness [till] thou find none.
Rompe el brazo de los malvados. En cuanto al hombre malo, busca su maldad hasta que no la encuentres.
16 Jehovah is King for ever and ever: the nations have perished out of his land.
¡Yahvé es Rey por los siglos de los siglos! Las naciones perecerán fuera de su tierra.
17 Jehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek, thou hast established their heart: thou causest thine ear to hear,
Yahvé, tú has escuchado el deseo de los humildes. Prepararás su corazón. Harás que tu oído escuche,
18 To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed one, that the man of the earth may terrify no more.
para juzgar a los huérfanos y a los oprimidos, para que el hombre que es de la tierra no aterrorice más.
