< Proverbs 31 >

1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him:
Lengpa Lemuel anun anahilna thucheng ho aphondoh.
2 What, my son? and what, O son of my womb? and what, O son of my vows?
“O kachapa, kanaobua kon’a kahin kachapa, ipi mong mong ham, kitepna vanga kahinsa kachapa?
3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to them that destroy kings.
Nathahatna chu numei pedoh hih beh in, chule lengho sumanga pang ho chu lampi na ot louhel ding ahi.
4 It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for rulers [to say], Where is the strong drink?
O Lemuel, lengho dinga judon kiti hi angai ahipoi, vaihom’a pang ho dinga khamna theija lop hi angai ahipoi.
5 — lest they drink and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the children of affliction.
Ajeh chu ju adon tenguleh, thu adih’a kitansa le akiseisa chu aheimil diu; chutengleh gim hesoh changte dinga, adihnau chu asuhmil peh diu ahi.
6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto the bitter of soul:
Manthah nan aphah dingpa chu khamna thei donsah hih beh in, amavang alung hesoh val ho bou ju donsah tan.
7 let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
Hitichun amaho cheng chu donsah inlang, avaichat nau asuhmil nadiu le agenthei nau tincheng asuhmil nadiu ahi.
8 Open thy mouth for the dumb, for the cause of all those that are left desolate.
Ama ding kisei thei lou ho dingin seipeh in, chule achung'uva thu adih in tanpeh in.
9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and minister justice to the afflicted and needy.
Nakam kah inlang thu adih’in tan in, vaichate le angaichate chunga thu adih’a tanna chu umsah jing in.” ati.
10 Who can find a woman of worth? for her price is far above rubies.
Numei jipha tah kimu jou ding koiham? Amanu chu sana pah jem jouse sang in jong ahoi joi.
11 The heart of her husband confideth in her, and he shall have no lack of spoil.
Ajipan alungthim akison pi lheh in, ajeh chu amanun ajipa hinkhoa ijakai abulhinsah ding ahi.
12 She doeth him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.
Amanu chun ajipa chunga thilpha chom atongdoh jin, ahinkho sung in ajipa setna atongdoh ngaipoi.
13 She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Samul le tupat abolpeh jin, pontho tah in pat abol jin ahi.
14 She is like the merchants' ships: she bringeth her food from afar;
Hitobang numei hi kiveina kong innei tobang ahin, nehle chah jong gamla tah tah a kon’in ahinpo ji'e.
15 And she riseth while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and the day's work to her maidens.
Jingkah khovah masangin athouvin ain-sung mite dingin neh le chah agong jin, chule asoh nungah ho nikhat sunga atohdiu agontoh peh jin ahi.
16 She considereth a field, and acquireth it; of the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
Amanu achen loumun agaven acho pai jin, amanu khutsoh mong mong in lengpilei abol in ahi.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and maketh strong her arms.
Amanu hin atai akigah in thanei tah in apang jin, abanthahat ajedoh jing in ahi.
18 She perceiveth that her earning is good; her lamp goeth not out by night.
Amanu hin akiveina anatoh athilbol jouse thil phachom ahi, ti asumil ngaipon; jan khovah kahsen athaomei amit khapoi.
19 She putteth her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
Akhut teni le muikung akisip lhop jingin, chule akhut tenin patkong kung atuh jing jinge.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the afflicted, and she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
Migentheite hunan akhut alhang jingin, chujongleh alhasamte dingin akhut alhang jing in ahi.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
Hitobang numei hin ain chen buhbang hunglhah ding jong aging pon, ainsung mite abonchan ponsan vamleh in atom in hijeh chun alung monge.
22 She maketh herself coverlets; her clothing is byssus and purple.
Hiche numei hin ama le ama din jong ponsil akikhon in, aponsil jong tupat ponnem le ponsandup jeng ahi.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
Khopi kelkot phung jousea ajipa akilang doh jingin, gamsung upa ho lah a atouteng jongle min ahesoh keije.
24 She maketh body linen and selleth it, and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Hitobang numei hin tupat ponnem akhongin akhonjou tengle akijoh jin, kivei miho henga jong konggah khao ajoh jin ahi.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laugheth [at] the coming day.
Thahat le gunchuna hi hiche numeinu dinga hi aponsil tobang ahin, khonunga phat hung lhung ding jong lungkhamna beijin agaldot theijin ahi.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and upon her tongue is the law of kindness.
Chingthei tah in thu aseijin, khoto tah a mihilna jong aneijin ahi.
27 She surveyeth the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Insunga um thil jouse avetup sohkei jin, thaset jeh’a don louva akoi khatcha aumpoi.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her:
Hitobang numei hi achate ahung kipat doh jiuvin, numei nunnom nu tin asejun ahi; chule ajipa jeng in jong amanu hi apahcha lheh ji'e.
29 Many daughters have done worthily, but thou excellest them all.
“Vannoi leisetna numei kitahleh numei lolhing tamtah aumme, hinlah nangin amaho nakhel sohkeije” ati.
30 Gracefulness is deceitful and beauty is vain; a woman [that] feareth Jehovah, she shall be praised.
Kijep hoisel nahi lhep lhahna bep ahin, melhoi jong hi chomcha ding bou ahi; hinlah Pakai ging jing numei hi pachat dinga lomtah ahi.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.
Hitobang numei chu atohdoh jouse jal’in kipaman peuvin, chule khopi kot phung tinchenga anatohdoh jousen; lhang phong in vahchoi cheh tahen.
