Numbers 31
1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
யெகோவா மோசேயிடம்,
2 Avenge the children of Israel upon the Midianites; afterwards shalt thou be gathered unto thy peoples.
“இஸ்ரயேலருக்காக மீதியானியரைப் பழிவாங்கு; அதன்பின் நீ உன் மக்களுடன் சேர்க்கப்படுவாய்” என்றார்.
3 And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm from amongst you men for military service, that they go against Midian to execute Jehovah's vengeance upon Midian.
எனவே மோசே மக்களிடம், “மீதியானியருக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம் செய்யவும், அவர்களைப் பழிவாங்கும்படியான யெகோவாவின் நோக்கத்தை நிறைவேற்றவும் உங்கள் மனிதரில் சிலருக்கு ஆயுதங்களைத் தரிப்பியுங்கள்.
4 Of every tribe a thousand, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
இஸ்ரயேல் கோத்திரம் ஒவ்வொன்றில் இருந்தும் ஆயிரம்பேரைத் தெரிந்தெடுத்து யுத்தத்திற்கு அனுப்புங்கள்” என்றான்.
5 And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand by tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
எனவே ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்தில் இருந்தும், ஆயிரம்பேராக பன்னிரெண்டாயிரம் ஆயுதம் தரித்த மனிதர் இஸ்ரயேல் வம்சங்களிலிருந்து அனுப்பப்பட்டார்கள்.
6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand by the tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, and the holy instruments, even the alarm-trumpets in his hand.
மோசே ஒவ்வொரு கோத்திரத்திலிருந்தும் ஆயிரம்பேரைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, அவர்களை ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாரின் மகன் பினெகாசுடன் யுத்தத்திற்கு அனுப்பினான். பினெகாஸ் தன்னுடன் பரிசுத்த இடத்திலிருந்த பொருட்களையும், தொனிக்கும் பூரிகைகளையும் செய்வதற்கு எக்காளங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போனான்.
7 And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah had commanded Moses, and slew all the males.
யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, அவர்கள் மீதியானியருக்கு எதிராக யுத்தம்செய்து எல்லா மனிதரையும் கொன்றார்கள்.
8 And they slew the kings of Midian, besides the others slain, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian; and Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
அவர்கள் மீதியானியரின் ஐந்து அரசர்களாகிய ஏவி, ரெக்கெம், சூர், ஊர், ரேபா ஆகியோரையும் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள். அவர்கள் பேயோரின் மகன் பிலேயாமையும் வாளினால் வெட்டிக்கொன்றார்கள்.
9 And the children of Israel took the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took for a spoil all their cattle and all their flocks and all their goods;
இஸ்ரயேலர் மீதியானிய பெண்களையும், குழந்தைகளையும் சிறைப்பிடித்து, அவர்களுடைய ஆட்டு மந்தைகளையும், மாட்டு மந்தைகளையும், அவர்கள் பொருட்களையும் கொள்ளையாக எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.
10 and all their cities in their settlements and all their encampments they burned with fire.
மீதியானியர் குடியிருந்த எல்லா பட்டணங்களையும், முகாம்களையும் சேர்த்து அவர்கள் எரித்தார்கள்.
11 And they took all the booty, and all the prey, of man and of cattle;
பின்பு தாங்கள் சூறையாடிய பொருட்களையும், மக்கள், மிருகங்கள் உட்பட யுத்தத்தில் கைப்பற்றிய பொருட்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.
12 and they brought to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the assembly of the children of Israel, the captives and the prey and the booty, to the camp in the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan of Jericho.
அவர்கள் தாங்கள் சிறைபிடித்தவர்களையும், யுத்தத்தில் கைப்பற்றியவைகளையும், கொள்ளைப்பொருட்களையும் மோசே, ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசார் மற்றும் இஸ்ரயேலிய சமுதாயத்தினர் அனைவரிடமும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது இவர்கள் எரிகோவுக்கு எதிரே யோர்தானுக்கு அருகில் மோவாப் சமவெளியில் முகாமிட்டிருந்தார்கள்.
13 And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the princes of the assembly went forth to meet them outside the camp.
மோசேயும், ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாரும், இஸ்ரயேல் சமுதாயத் தலைவர்கள் எல்லோரும் அவர்களைச் சந்திக்க முகாமுக்கு வெளியே வந்தார்கள்.
14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the army, with the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war;
யுத்தத்திலிருந்து திரும்பி வந்த இராணுவ அதிகாரிகளான ஆயிரம்பேருக்கும், நூறுபேருக்குமான தளபதிகளாய் இருந்தவர்கள்மேல் மோசே கோபம்கொண்டான்.
15 and Moses said to them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
அவன் அவர்களிடம், “பெண்கள் எல்லோரையும் வாழ அனுமதித்தீர்களோ?
16 Lo, these, through the counsel of Balaam, caused the children of Israel to commit sin against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague on the assembly of Jehovah.
பிலேயாமின் ஆலோசனையைக் கேட்டு பேயோரில் நடந்த காரியத்தில் இஸ்ரயேலரை யெகோவாவிடமிருந்து வழிவிலகச்செய்ய உடந்தையாக இருந்தவர்கள் அவர்கள் அல்லவா? அதனால்தானே யெகோவாவின் மக்களைக் கொள்ளைநோய் வாதித்தது.
17 And now slay every male among the little ones, and slay every woman that hath known man by lying with him,
எல்லா ஆண்பிள்ளைகளையும் இப்பொழுதே கொல்லுங்கள். ஆணுடன் உடலுறவுகொண்ட ஒவ்வொரு பெண்ணையும் கொல்லுங்கள்.
18 but all the children among the women that have not known lying with a man, keep alive for yourselves.
ஆனால் ஆண்களுடன் உடலுறவுகொள்ளாத கன்னிப்பெண்கள் அனைவரையும் உங்களுக்காக விட்டுவையுங்கள்.
19 And encamp outside the camp seven days; whoever hath killed a person, and whoever hath touched any slain; ye shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
“யாரையாகிலும் கொன்றவனோ அல்லது கொல்லப்பட்ட எவனையாவது தொட்டவனோ ஏழுநாட்களுக்கு முகாமுக்கு வெளியே இருக்கவேண்டும். மூன்றாம் நாளிலும் ஏழாம் நாளிலும் நீங்கள் உங்களையும், உங்கள் கைதிகளையும் சுத்திகரிக்கவேண்டும்.
20 And every garment, and every vessel of skin, and all work of goat's hair, and every utensil of wood shall ye purify.
உங்களது எல்லா உடைகளையும், தோலினால் அல்லது வெள்ளாட்டு மயிரினால் அல்லது மரத்தினால் செய்யப்பட்ட ஒவ்வொன்றையும் சுத்திகரிக்கவேண்டும்” என்றான்.
21 And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war that had gone to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses.
ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசார் யுத்தத்திற்குப் போன இராணுவவீரர்களிடம் சொன்னதாவது, “யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கொடுத்த சட்டத்தின்படி செய்யப்பட வேண்டியதாவது:
22 Only the gold, and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
தங்கம், வெள்ளி, வெண்கலம், இரும்பு, தகரம், ஈயம் ஆகியவற்றையும்,
23 everything that passeth through the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the water of separation; and everything that cannot pass through the fire ye shall make go through the water.
நெருப்பினால் எரிந்துபோகாத வேறு எதையும் நெருப்பிலே போடவேண்டும். அப்பொழுது அது சுத்தமாகும். ஆனால் சுத்திகரிக்கும் தண்ணீரினாலும் அது சுத்திகரிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். அத்துடன் நெருப்பினால் எரியக்கூடிய எதையும் அந்த நீரினால் சுத்திகரிக்கவேண்டும்.
24 And ye shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterwards ye may come into the camp.
ஏழாம்நாளில் நீங்கள் உங்கள் உடைகளைத் துவைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அப்பொழுது நீங்களும் சுத்தமாவீர்கள். பின்பு நீங்கள் முகாமுக்குள் வரலாம்” என்றான்.
25 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
யெகோவா மோசேயிடம் சொன்னதாவது:
26 Take the sum of the prey that was taken, of man and of cattle, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the assembly;
“நீயும் ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாரும், மக்கள் சமுதாயத்திலுள்ள குடும்பத்தலைவர்களும், கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட மக்களையும், மிருகங்களையும் கணக்கிடவேண்டும்.
27 and divide the prey into halves, between them that conducted the war, who went out to the battle, and the whole assembly.
யுத்தத்தில் பங்கெடுத்த இராணுவவீரர்களுக்கும், மக்கள் சமுதாயத்தில் மீதியாய் இருப்பவர்களுக்கும் இடையில் கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட பொருட்களைப் பங்கிடவேண்டும்.
28 And thou shalt levy a tribute for Jehovah of the men of war who went out to the army, one soul of five hundred of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the small cattle.
அத்துடன் யுத்தத்தில் சண்டையிட்ட போர்வீரர்களிடமிருந்து எல்லாவற்றிலும் ஐந்நூறில் ஒரு பங்கை யெகோவாவுக்கான அன்பளிப்பாக வேறுபிரித்து வைக்கவேண்டும். அவை மனிதர்களானாலும், மாடுகளானாலும், கழுதைகளானாலும், செம்மறியாடுகளானாலும், வெள்ளாடுகளானாலும் அவை ஒதுக்கப்படவேண்டும்.
29 Of their half shall ye take it, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for a heave-offering of Jehovah.
இராணுவவீரர் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட அரைப்பங்கிலிருந்து இந்த அன்பளிப்பை எடுத்து, யெகோவாவின் பங்காக ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாருக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.
30 And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the oxen, of the asses, and of the small cattle, of every [kind of] beasts, and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah.
அதேபோல் இஸ்ரயேலருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட மற்ற அரைப்பங்கிலிருந்து எல்லாவற்றிலும் ஐம்பதில் ஒரு பங்கைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கவேண்டும். அவை மனிதர்களானாலும், மாடுகளானாலும், கழுதைகளானாலும், செம்மறியாடுகளானாலும், வெள்ளாடுகளானாலும் அல்லது வேறுமிருகங்களானாலும் அவற்றிலிருந்து தெரிவு செய்யவேண்டும். அவற்றை யெகோவாவின் இறைசமுகக் கூடாரத்திற்குப் பொறுப்பாயிருக்கும் லேவியர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்” என்றார்.
31 And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
மோசேயும், ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாரும் யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே செய்தார்கள்.
32 And the prey, the rest of the spoil, which the men of war had taken, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep,
இராணுவவீரர் கைப்பற்றிய கொள்ளைப்பொருட்களில் எஞ்சியவை: 6,75,000 செம்மறியாடுகள்,
33 and seventy-two thousand oxen,
72,000 மாடுகள்,
34 and sixty-one thousand asses,
61,000 கழுதைகள் ஆகியவற்றுடன்,
35 and of human persons, of the women that had not known lying with a man, all the persons were thirty-two thousand.
ஆணுடன் உறவுகொள்ளாத கன்னிப்பெண்கள் 32,000 பேருமாகும்.
36 And the half, the portion of them that had gone out to the war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
யுத்தத்தில் சண்டையிட்டவர்களுக்குரிய அரைப்பங்காக இருந்தவைகள்: 3,37,500 செம்மறியாடுகள்;
37 and the tribute for Jehovah of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five;
இவற்றில் 675 செம்மறியாடுகள் யெகோவாவின் பங்காகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன.
38 and the oxen were thirty-six thousand, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, seventy-two;
36,000 மாடுகள்; இவற்றில் 72 யெகோவாவின் பங்காகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன.
39 and the asses were thirty thousand five hundred, and the tribute thereof for Jehovah, sixty-one;
30,500 கழுதைகள்; இவற்றில் 61 யெகோவாவின் பங்காகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன.
40 and the human persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the tribute for Jehovah was thirty-two persons.
16,000 மக்கள்; இவர்களில் 32 பேர் யெகோவாவின் பங்காகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டனர்.
41 And Moses gave the tribute of Jehovah's heave-offering to Eleazar the priest, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, யெகோவாவின் பங்காக இதை ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாரிடம் மோசே கொடுத்தான்.
42 And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses had divided, [taking it] from the men that served in the war,
யுத்தம் செய்த மனிதர்களின் அரைப்பங்குபோக இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு மோசே பிரித்துக்கொடுத்த
43 (now the half belonging to the assembly was of the sheep, three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred,
மற்ற அரைப்பங்கில் உள்ளவைகள்: 3,37,500 செம்மறியாடுகள்,
44 and thirty-six thousand oxen,
36,000 மாடுகள்,
45 and thirty thousand five hundred asses,
30,500 கழுதைகள்,
46 and sixteen thousand human persons, )
16,000 மக்களுமே.
47 ...of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave them to the Levites who kept the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah; as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
மோசே, யெகோவா தனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே இஸ்ரயேலரின் அரைப்பங்கில் ஒவ்வொரு ஐம்பது மிருகங்களிலிருந்து ஒன்றையும், ஆட்களிலிருந்து ஒருவரையும் இறைசமுகக் கூடாரத்தின் பராமரிப்புக்குப் பொறுப்பாயிருந்த லேவியருக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.
48 And the officers who were over the thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses,
அப்பொழுது ஆயிரம்பேருக்குத் தளபதிகளும், நூறுபேருக்குத் தளபதிகளுமாயிருந்த இராணுவ அதிகாரிகள் மோசேயினிடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள்.
49 and they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who were under our hand, and there is not one man of us lacking.
அவர்கள் மோசேயிடம், “எங்கள் அதிகாரத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்ட போர்வீரர்களை உமது பணியாட்களான நாங்கள் கணக்கிட்டோம். ஒருவருமே தவறிப்போகவில்லை.
50 So we present the offering of Jehovah, that which each one hath found, jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Jehovah.
ஆகையால், எங்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனும் கைப்பற்றிய தங்கநகைகளான காப்புகள், கைவளையல்கள், முத்திரை மோதிரங்கள், தோடுகள், அட்டியல்கள் ஆகியவற்றை யெகோவாவுக்குக் காணிக்கையாகக் கொண்டுவந்திருக்கிறோம். எங்களுக்காக யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாகப் பாவநிவிர்த்தி செய்யும்படி இவற்றைக் கொண்டுவந்திருக்கிறோம்” என்றார்கள்.
51 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, all manner of wrought jewels.
மோசேயும் ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாரும் அவர்கள் கொண்டுவந்த தங்கத்தையும் நகைகளாகச் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தவைகளையும் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்கள்.
52 And all the gold of the heave-offering that they offered to Jehovah was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.
ஆயிரம்பேருக்குத் தளபதிகளிடமிருந்தும், நூறுபேருக்குத் தளபதிகளிடமிருந்தும் மோசேயும் எலெயாசாரும் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட தங்கத்தை அவர்கள் யெகோவாவுக்குக் காணிக்கையாகக் கொடுத்தார்கள். அதன் நிறை 16,750 சேக்கலாக இருந்தது.
53 (The men of war had taken spoil each one for himself.)
ஒவ்வொரு இராணுவவீரனும் தனக்கென்றும் கொள்ளைப்பொருட்களை எடுத்திருந்தான்.
54 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tent of meeting, as a memorial for the children of Israel before Jehovah.
மோசேயும், ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாரும் ஆயிரம்பேரின் தளபதிகளிடமும், நூறுபேரின் தளபதிகளிடமும் இருந்து தங்கத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார்கள். அதை யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக இஸ்ரயேலருக்கான ஒரு ஞாபகார்த்தமாக சபைக் கூடாரத்திற்குள் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
