Numbers 24
1 And Balaam saw that it was good in the sight of Jehovah to bless Israel, and he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
१इस्राएलाला आशीर्वाद द्यायची परमेश्वराची इच्छा आहे हे बलामाने पाहिले. म्हणून त्याने ते कोणत्याही प्रकारचे मंत्रतंत्र वापरुन थांबवायचा प्रयत्न केला नाही. पण तो वळला आणि त्याने रानाकडे पाहिले.
2 And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel dwelling [in tents] according to his tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.
२बलामाने रानाकडे पाहिले आणि त्यास इस्राएलाचे सगळे वंश दिसले. त्यांनी आपापल्या भागात आपापल्या गटासह तळ दिला होता. नंतर देवाचा आत्मा बलामावर आला.
3 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor saith, and the man of opened eye saith,
३त्याने हा संदेश स्विकारला आणि म्हणाला, बौराचा मुलगा बलाम, ज्या मनुष्याचे डोळे स्पष्ट उघडे आहेत त्याविषयी बोलत आहे.
4 He saith, who heareth the words of God, who seeth the vision of the Almighty, who falleth down, and who hath his eyes open:
४जो देवाचे शब्द ऐकतो आणि बोलतो, जो सर्वसमर्थापासून दृष्टांत पाहतो, जो त्याच्यापुढे डोळे उघडे ठेवून नतमस्तक होतो.
5 How goodly are thy tents, Jacob, and thy tabernacles, Israel!
५हे याकोबा तुझे तंबू, हे इस्राएला, जिथे तू राहतो ते किती सुंदर आहे!
6 Like valleys are they spread forth, like gardens by the river side, Like aloe-trees which Jehovah hath planted, like cedars beside the waters.
६खोऱ्यासारखे विस्तृत पसरलेले, नदीकाठी लावलेल्या बागेसारखे, परमेश्वराने लावलेल्या कोरफडीप्रमाणे आहे, पाण्याजवळच्या गंधसरूसारखे ते आहेत.
7 Water shall flow out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in great waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
७पाणी त्यांच्या बादलीतून वाहील, आणि त्यांच्या बीजाला भरपूर पाणी मिळेल. त्यांचा राजा अगाग राजापेक्षा थोर होईल व त्यांच्या राजाचा गौरव होईल.
8 God brought him out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of a buffalo. He shall consume the nations his enemies, and break their bones, and with his arrows shall smite [them] in pieces.
८देवाने त्यांना मिसरामधून बाहेर आणले. त्यांना रानटी बैलासारखी शक्ती आहे. तो आपल्याविरूद्ध लढणाऱ्या राष्ट्रांना खाऊन टाकील. तो त्यांच्या हाडांचे तुकडे तुकडे करील. तो आपल्या बाणांनी त्यांना मारील.
9 He stooped, he lay down like a lion, and like a lioness: who will stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
९तो सिंहासारखा, सिंहिणीसारखा दबा धरून बसला आहे. त्यास उठवण्याची कोण हिंम्मत करील? जो तुला आशीर्वाद देईल तो प्रत्येकजण आशीर्वाद देईल; तुला शाप देणारा प्रत्येकजण शापित होईल.
10 Then Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and behold, thou hast altogether blessed [them] these three times!
१०बलामाविरूद्ध बालाकाचा राग भडकला आणि त्याने रागाने आपले हात एकत्रीत आपटले. बालाक बलामास म्हणाला, “मी तुला माझ्या शत्रूंना शाप देण्यासाठी बोलावले, पण पाहा, तू त्यांना तीन वेळा आशीर्वाद दिलास.
11 And now flee thou to thy place; I said I would very highly honour thee, and behold, Jehovah has kept thee back from honour.
११तर आता मला सोडून घरी जा. मी तुला चांगला मोबदला देईन असे म्हटले होते, परंतु परमेश्वराने तुला कोणतेही इनाम मिळण्यापासून दूर ठेवले आहे.”
12 And Balaam said to Balak, Did I not also speak to thy messengers whom thou sentest to me, saying,
१२बलाम बालाकाला म्हणाला, तूच माझ्याकडे माणसे पाठवलीस. त्या मनुष्यांनी मला येण्याबद्दल विचारले. पण मी त्यांना म्हणालो,
13 If Balak gave me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the commandment of Jehovah to do good or bad out of my heart: what Jehovah shall say, that will I speak?
१३बालाक मला त्याचे सोन्या-चांदीने भरलेले घर देऊ शकेल. पण मी परमेश्वराने आज्ञा केलेल्या गोष्टीच बोलेन. मी स्वत: काहीही चांगले अथवा वाईट करु शकत नाही. परमेश्वर जेवढी आज्ञा देईल तेवढीच मी बोलतो. तुला या गोष्टी नक्कीच आठवत असतील की मी हे तुझ्या मनुष्यांना सांगितले होते.
14 And now behold, I go to my people: come, I will admonish thee what this people will do to thy people at the end of days.
१४तर आता पाहा. मी माझ्या मनुष्यांकडे परत जात आहे. पण मी तुला एक इशारा देतो. इस्राएलाचे हे लोक भविष्यात तुला आणि तुझ्या लोकांस काय करतील ते सांगतो.
15 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor saith, and the man of opened eye saith,
१५बलामाने हा संदेश सांगण्यास सुरवात केली. तो म्हणाला, बौराचा मुलगा बलाम बोलतो, ज्या मनुष्याचे डोळे सताड उघडे आहेत.
16 He saith, who heareth the words of God, who knoweth the knowledge of the Most High, Who seeth the vision of the Almighty, who falleth down, and who hath his eyes open:
१६हा संदेश जो कोणी देवाकडून ऐकतो, ज्याला परात्परापासूनचे ज्ञान आहे, ज्याला सर्वसमर्थापासून दर्शन आहे, जो डोळे उघडे ठेवून दंडवत घालतो.
17 I shall see him, but not now; I shall behold him, but not nigh: There cometh a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and he shall cut in pieces the corners of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult.
१७मी त्यास पाहीन, पण तो आता इथे नाही. मी त्याच्याकडे पाहीन, पण तो जवळ नाही. याकोबातून एक तारा बाहेर येईल, आणि इस्राएलातून एक राजदंड निघेल. तो मवाबाच्या नेत्यांना चिरडून टाकील आणि शेथाच्या सर्व मुलांचा तो नाश करील.
18 And Edom shall be a possession, and Seir a possession, — they, his enemies; but Israel will do valiantly.
१८नंतर अदोम इस्राएलाचे वतन होईल, आणि सेईरही आपल्या इस्राएली शत्रूंचे वतन होईल, ज्याला इस्राएल आपल्या पराक्रमाने जिंकेल.
19 And one out of Jacob shall have dominion, and will destroy out of the city what remaineth.
१९याकोबाच्या घराण्यातून एक राजा येईल तो त्यांच्यावर राज्य करील, आणि तो त्यांच्या शहरातील उरलेल्यांचा नाश करील.
20 And he saw Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, Amalek is the first of the nations, but his latter end shall be for destruction.
२०नंतर बलामाने अमालेकाकडे पाहिले आणि त्याच्या संदेशास सुरवात केली. तो म्हणाला, “अमालेकी एकदा राष्ट्रांत महान होता, पण त्याचा अंतीम शेवट नाश होईल.”
21 And he saw the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Firm is thy dwelling-place, and thy nest fixed in the rock;
२१नंतर बलामने केनीकडे पाहिले आणि त्याने त्याच्या संदेशास सुरवात केली. तो म्हणाला, “तू जेथे राहतोस ती जागा बळकट आहे, आणि तुझे घरटे खडकात आहे.”
22 But the Kenite shall be consumed, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
२२“तरीसुद्धा केनी राष्ट्रांचा नाश होईल, जेव्हा अश्शूर तुला बंदिवान करून नेईल.”
23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas! Who shall live when God doeth this?
२३नंतर बलामाने अंतीम संदेशास सुरवात केली. तो म्हणाला, देव जेव्हा असे करतो “हायहाय! जेव्हा देव हे करीत असता कोण जिवंत राहील?”
24 And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and afflict Asshur, and afflict Eber, and he also shall be for destruction.
२४कित्तीमाच्या किनाऱ्यापासून जहाजे येतील; ते अश्शूरावर हल्ला करतील आणि एबर जिंकून घेतील. पण त्यांचासुद्धा नाश होईल.
25 And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
२५नंतर बलाम उठला आणि गेला. तो आपल्या घरी परत गेला आणि बालाकही आपल्या वाटेने गेला.
