1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai in the tent of meeting, on the first of the second month, in the second year after their departure from the land of Egypt, saying,

2 Take the sum of the whole assembly of the children of Israel, after their families, according to their fathers' houses, by the number of the names, every male, according to their polls;
Nehmet die Summe der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israel nach ihren Geschlechtern und Vaterhäusern und Namen, alles, was männlich ist, von Haupt zu Haupt,
3 from twenty years and upward, all that go forth to military service in Israel: ye shall number them according to their hosts, thou and Aaron.
von zwanzig Jahren an und darüber, was ins Heer zu ziehen taugt in Israel; ihr sollt sie zählen nach ihren Heeren, du und Aaron.
4 And with you there shall be a man for every tribe, a man who is the head of his father's house.
Und sollt zu euch nehmen je vom Stamm einen Hauptmann über sein Vaterhaus.
5 And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: for Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
Dies sind die Namen der Hauptleute, die neben euch stehen sollen: von Ruben sei Elizur, der Sohn Sedeurs;
6 for Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
von Simeon sei Selumiel, der Sohn Zuri-Saddais;
7 for Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
von Juda sei Nahesson, der Sohn Amminadabs;
8 for Issachar, Nethaneel the son of Zuar;
von Isaschar sei Nathanael, der Sohn Zuars;
9 for Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon;
von Sebulon sei Eliab, der Sohn Helons;
10 for the children of Joseph: for Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; for Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
von den Kindern Josephs: von Ephraim sei Elisama, der Sohn Ammihuds; von Manasse sei Gamliel, der Sohn Pedazurs;
11 for Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
von Benjamin sei Abidan, der Sohn des Gideoni;
12 for Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;
von Dan sei Ahieser, der Sohn Ammi-Saddais;
13 for Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran;
von Asser sei Pagiel, der Sohn Ochrans;
14 for Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel;
von Gad sei Eljasaph, der Sohn Deguels;
15 for Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.

16 These were those summoned of the assembly, princes of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the thousands of Israel.
Das sind die Vornehmsten der Gemeinde, die Fürsten unter den Stämmen ihrer Väter, die da Häupter über die Tausende in Israel waren.
17 And Moses and Aaron took these men who are expressed by their names,
Und Mose und Aaron nahmen sie zu sich, wie sie da mit Namen genannt sind,
18 and gathered the whole assembly together on the first of the second month. And they declared their pedigrees after their families, according to their fathers' houses, by the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, according to their polls.
und sammelten auch die ganze Gemeinde am ersten Tage des zweiten Monats und rechneten nach ihrer Geburt, nach ihren Geschlechtern und Vaterhäusern und Namen, von zwanzig Jahren an und darüber, von Haupt zu Haupt,
19 As Jehovah had commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte, und zählten sie in der Wüste Sinai.
20 And the sons of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, their generations, after their families, according to their fathers' houses, by the number of the names, according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that went forth to military service:
Der Kinder Ruben, des ersten Sohnes Israels, nach ihrer Geburt und Geschlecht, ihren Vaterhäusern und Namen, von Haupt zu Haupt, alles, was männlich war, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, und ins Heer zu ziehen taugte,
21 those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty-six thousand five hundred.

22 Of the sons of Simeon: their generations, after their families, according to their fathers' houses, those that were numbered of them, by the number of the names, according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that went forth to military service:
Der Kinder Simeon nach ihrer Geburt und Geschlecht, ihren Vaterhäusern, Zahl und Namen, von Haupt zu Haupt, alles, was männlich war, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, und ins Heer zu ziehen taugte,
23 those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

24 Of the sons of Gad: their generations, after their families, according to their fathers' houses, by the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that went forth to military service:
Der Kinder Gad nach ihrer Geburt und Geschlecht, ihren Vaterhäusern und Namen, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, und ins Heer zu ziehen taugte,
25 those that were numbered of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

44 These are those that were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, the twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
Dies sind, die Mose und Aaron zählten samt den zwölf Fürsten Israels, deren je einer über ein Vaterhaus war.
45 And all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, according to their fathers' houses, from twenty years old and upward, all that went forth to military service in Israel,
Und die Summe der Kinder Israel nach ihrer Geburt und Geschlecht, ihren Vaterhäusern und Namen, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, was ins Heer zu ziehen taugte in Israel,
46 all they that were numbered were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.
war sechsmal hunderttausend und dreitausend fünfhundertundfünfzig.
47 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
Aber die Leviten nach ihrer Väter Stamm wurden nicht mit darunter gezählt.
48 For Jehovah had spoken to Moses, saying,
Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
49 Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel.
Den Stamm Levi sollst du nicht zählen noch ihre Summe nehmen unter den Kindern Israel,
50 But thou, appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all its vessels; and they shall serve it, and round about the tabernacle shall they encamp;
sondern du sollst sie ordnen zur Wohnung des Zeugnisses und zu allem Geräte und allem, was dazu gehört. Und sie sollen die Wohnung tragen und alles Gerät und sollen sein pflegen und um die Wohnung her sich lagern.
51 and when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encampeth, the Levites shall set it up; and the stranger that cometh near shall be put to death.
Und wenn man reisen soll, so sollen die Leviten die Wohnung abnehmen. Wenn aber das Heer zu lagern ist, sollen sie die Wohnung aufschlagen. Und wo ein Fremder sich dazumacht, der soll sterben.
52 And the children of Israel shall encamp every man in his camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their hosts;
Die Kinder Israel sollen sich lagern, ein jeglicher in sein Lager und zu dem Panier seiner Schar.
53 but the Levites shall encamp round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there come not wrath upon the assembly of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
Aber die Leviten sollen sich um die Wohnung des Zeugnisses her lagern, auf daß nicht ein Zorn über die Gemeinde der Kinder Israel komme; darum sollen die Leviten des Dienstes warten an der Wohnung des Zeugnisses.
54 And the children of Israel did so; according to all that Jehovah had commanded Moses, so did they.
Und die Kinder Israel taten alles, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.
