Matthew 12
1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath through the cornfields; and his disciples were hungry, and began to pluck the ears and to eat.
En aquel tiempo iba Jesús por entre los panes en sábado; y sus discípulos tenían hambre, y comenzaron a coger espigas, y a comer.
2 But the Pharisees, seeing [it], said to him, Behold, thy disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on sabbath.
Y viéndo lo los Fariseos, le dijeron: He aquí, tus discípulos hacen lo que no es lícito hacer en sábado.
3 But he said to them, Have ye not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him?
Y él les dijo: ¿No habéis leído, qué hizo David, teniendo hambre él, y los que estaban con él?
4 How he entered into the house of God, and ate the shewbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests only?
¿Cómo entró en la casa de Dios, y comió los panes de la proposición, que no le era lícito comer de ellos, ni a los que estaban con él, sino a solos los sacerdotes?
5 Or have ye not read in the law that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
O ¿no habéis leído en la ley, que los sábados en el templo los sacerdotes profanan el sábado, y son sin culpa?
6 But I say unto you, that there is here what is greater than the temple.
Pues yo os digo, que uno mayor que el templo está aquí.
7 But if ye had known what is: I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
Mas si supieseis qué es: Misericordia quiero, y no sacrificio, no condenaríais a los inocentes.
8 For the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath.
Porque Señor es aun del sábado el Hijo del hombre.
9 And, going away from thence, he came into their synagogue.
Y partiéndose de allí, vino a la sinagoga de ellos.
10 And behold, there was a man having his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath? that they might accuse him.
Y, he aquí, había allí uno que tenía una mano seca; y le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Es lícito curar en sábado? por acusarle.
11 But he said to them, What man shall there be of you who has one sheep, and if this fall into a pit on the sabbath, will not lay hold of it and raise [it] up?
Y él les dijo: ¿Qué hombre habrá de vosotros, que tenga una oveja, y si cayere esta en una fosa en sábado, no le eche mano, y la levante?
12 How much better then is a man than a sheep! So that it is lawful to do well on the sabbath.
¿Pues cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Así que lícito es en los sábados hacer bien.
13 Then he says to the man, Stretch out thy hand. And he stretched [it] out, and it was restored sound as the other.
Entonces dijo a aquel hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él la extendió, y le fue restituida sana como la otra.
14 But the Pharisees, having gone out, took counsel against him, how they might destroy him.
Y salidos los Fariseos consultaron contra él para destruirle.
15 But Jesus knowing [it], withdrew thence, and great crowds followed him; and he healed them all:
Mas sabiéndo lo Jesús, se apartó de allí; y le siguieron grandes multitudes, y sanaba a todos.
16 and charged them strictly that they should not make him publicly known:
Y él les mandó rigurosamente, que no le descubriesen;
17 that that might be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying,
Para que se cumpliese lo que estaba dicho por el profeta Isaías, que dijo:
18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, in whom my soul has found its delight. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall shew forth judgment to the nations.
He aquí mi siervo, al cual he escogido; mi amado, en el cual se agrada mi alma: pondré mi Espíritu sobre él, y a los Gentiles anunciará juicio.
19 He shall not strive or cry out, nor shall any one hear his voice in the streets;
No contenderá, ni voceará; ni nadie oirá en las calles su voz:
20 a bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, until he bring forth judgment unto victory;
La caña cascada no quebrará; y el pábilo que humea no apagará, hasta que saque a victoria el juicio;
21 and on his name shall [the] nations hope.
Y en su nombre esperarán los Gentiles.
22 Then was brought to him one possessed by a demon, blind and dumb, and he healed him, so that the dumb [man] spake and saw.
Entonces fue traído a él un endemoniado, ciego y mudo; y le sanó, de tal manera que el ciego y mudo hablaba y veía.
23 And all the crowds were amazed and said, Is this [man] the Son of David?
Y todo el pueblo estaba fuera de sí, y decía: ¿Es éste aquel Hijo de David?
24 But the Pharisees, having heard [it], said, This [man] does not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub, prince of demons.
Mas los Fariseos, oyéndo lo, decían: Este no echa fuera los demonios, sino por Belzebú, príncipe de los demonios.
25 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not subsist.
Y Jesús, como sabía los pensamientos de ellos, les dijo: Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo es desolado; y toda ciudad o casa, dividida contra sí misma, no permanecerá.
26 And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom subsist?
Y si Satanás echa fuera a Satanás, contra sí mismo está dividido: ¿cómo, pues, permanecerá su reino?
27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, your sons, by whom do they cast [them] out? For this reason they shall be your judges.
Y si yo por Belzebú echo fuera los demonios, ¿vuestros hijos, por quién los echan? Por tanto ellos serán vuestros jueces.
28 But if I by [the] Spirit of God cast out demons, then indeed the kingdom of God is come upon you.
Y si por el Espíritu de Dios yo echo fuera los demonios, ciertamente ha llegado a vosotros el reino de Dios.
29 Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong [man] and plunder his goods, unless first he bind the strong [man]? and then he will plunder his house.
Porque ¿cómo puede alguno entrar en la casa del valiente, y saquear sus alhajas, si primero no prendiere al valiente? y entonces saqueará su casa.
30 He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathers not with me scatters.
El que no es conmigo, contra mí es; y el que conmigo no coge, derrama.
31 For this reason I say unto you, Every sin and injurious speaking shall be forgiven to men, but speaking injuriously of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men.
Por tanto os digo: Todo pecado y blasfemia será perdonado a los hombres; mas la blasfemia del Espíritu no será perdonada a los hombres.
32 And whosoever shall have spoken a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming [one]. (aiōn g165)
Y cualquiera que hablare contra el Hijo del hombre, le será perdonado; mas cualquiera que hablare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado, ni en este siglo, ni en el venidero. (aiōn g165)
33 Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt. For from the fruit the tree is known.
O hacéd el árbol bueno, y su fruto bueno; o hacéd el árbol carcomido, y su fruto podrido; porque por su fruto es conocido el árbol.
34 Offspring of vipers! how can ye speak good things, being wicked? For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
¡O generación de víboras! ¿cómo podéis hablar bien, siendo malos? porque de la abundancia del corazón habla la boca.
35 The good man out of the good treasure brings forth good things; and the wicked man out of the wicked treasure brings forth wicked things.
El buen hombre del buen tesoro del corazón saca buenas cosas; y el mal hombre del mal tesoro saca malas cosas.
36 But I say unto you, that every idle word which men shall say, they shall render an account of it in judgment-day:
Mas yo os digo, que toda palabra ociosa que hablaren los hombres, de ella darán cuenta en el día del juicio.
37 for by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Porque por tus palabras serás justificado, y por tus palabras serás condenado.
38 Then answered him some of the scribes and Pharisees, saying, Teacher, we desire to see a sign from thee.
Entonces respondieron unos de los escribas y de los Fariseos, diciendo: Maestro, deseamos ver de ti señal.
39 But he, answering, said to them, A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it save the sign of Jonas the prophet.
Y él respondió, y les dijo: La generación mala y adulterina demanda señal; mas señal no le será dada, sino la señal de Jonás el profeta.
40 For even as Jonas was in the belly of the great fish three days and three nights, thus shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
Porque como estuvo Jonás en el vientre de la ballena tres días y tres noches, así estará el Hijo del hombre en el corazón de la tierra tres días y tres noches.
41 Ninevites shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and behold, more than Jonas [is] here.
Los de Nínive se levantarán en juicio con esta generación, y la condenarán; porque ellos se arrepintieron a la predicación de Jonás; y, he aquí, uno mayor que Jonás en este lugar.
42 A queen of [the] south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, more than Solomon [is] here.
La reina del austro se levantará en juicio con esta generación, y la condenará; porque vino de los fines de la tierra para oír la sabiduría de Salomón; y, he aquí, uno mayor que Salomón en este lugar.
43 But when the unclean spirit has gone out of the man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and does not find [it].
Cuando el espíritu inmundo ha salido del hombre, anda por lugares secos, buscando reposo; y no hallándole,
44 Then he says, I will return to my house whence I came out; and having come, he finds [it] unoccupied, swept, and adorned.
Entonces dice: Me volveré a mi casa, de donde salí. Y cuando viene, la halla desocupada, barrida, y adornada.
45 Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits worse than himself, and entering in, they dwell there; and the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. Thus shall it be to this wicked generation also.
Entonces va, y toma consigo otros siete espíritus peores que él, y entrados moran allí; y son peores las postrimerías del tal hombre, que sus primerías. Así también acontecerá a esta generación mala.
46 But while he was yet speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, seeking to speak to him.
Y estando él aun hablando al pueblo, he aquí, su madre y sus hermanos estaban fuera, que le querían hablar.
47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren are standing without, seeking to speak to thee.
Y le dijo uno: He aquí, tu madre y tus hermanos están fuera, que te quieren hablar.
48 But he answering said to him that spoke to him, Who is my mother, and who are my brethren?
Y respondiendo él al que le decía esto, dijo: ¿Quién es mi madre, y quiénes son mis hermanos?
49 And, stretching out his hand to his disciples, he said, Behold my mother and my brethren;
Y extendiendo su mano hacia sus discípulos, dijo: He aquí mi madre, y mis hermanos.
50 for whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in [the] heavens, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.
Porque todo aquel que hiciere la voluntad de mi Padre, que está en los cielos, ese es mi hermano, y hermana, y madre.
