Mark 14
1 Now the passover and the [feast of] unleavened bread was after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might seize him by subtlety and kill him.
Or c’était la Pâque et les azymes deux jours après; et les princes des prêtres et les scribes cherchaient comment ils se saisiraient de lui par ruse, et le feraient mourir.
2 For they said, Not in the feast, lest perhaps there be a tumult of the people.
Mais ils disaient: Non pas un jour de la fête, de peur qu’il ne s’élevât quelque tumulte dans le peuple.
3 And when he was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he lay at table, there came a woman having an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly; and having broken the alabaster flask, she poured it out upon his head.
Et comme Jésus se trouvait à Béthanie, dans la maison de Simon le lépreux, et qu’il était à table, il vint une femme ayant un vase d’albâtre plein d’un parfum de nard d’épi d’un grand prix. Or, le vase rompu, elle répandit le parfum sur sa tête.
4 And there were some indignant in themselves, and saying, Why has this waste been made of the ointment?
Quelques-uns s’en indignèrent en eux-mêmes, et ils disaient: Pourquoi avoir ainsi perdu ce parfum?
5 for this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor. And they spoke very angrily at her.
Il pouvait en effet, ce parfum, se vendre plus de trois cents deniers, et être donné aux pauvres. Et ils murmuraient contre elle.
6 But Jesus said, Let her alone; why do ye trouble her? she has wrought a good work as to me;
Mais Jésus dit: Laissez-la: pourquoi lui faites-vous de la peine? C’est une bonne œuvre qu’elle a faite envers moi;
7 for ye have the poor always with you, and whenever ye would ye can do them good; but me ye have not always.
Car les pauvres, vous les avez toujours avec vous, et quand vous voulez, vous pouvez leur faire du bien; mais moi, vous ne m’avez pas toujours.
8 What she could she has done. She has beforehand anointed my body for the burial.
Ce qu’a pu celle-ci, elle l’a fait; elle a d’avance parfumé mon corps pour la sépulture.
9 And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever these glad tidings may be preached in the whole world, what this [woman] has done shall be also spoken of for a memorial of her.
En vérité, je vous le dis: Partout où sera prêché cet Evangile, dans le monde entier, ce que celle-ci vient de faire, sera même raconté en mémoire délie.
10 And Judas Iscariote, one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests that he might deliver him up to them;
Alors Judas Iscariote, un des douze, alla trouver les princes des prêtres, pour le leur livrer.
11 and they, when they heard it, rejoiced, and promised him to give money. And he sought how he could opportunely deliver him up.
Ceux-ci l’entendant, se réjouirent, et promirent de lui donner de l’argent. Aussi cherchait-il une occasion favorable pour le leur livrer.
12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they slew the passover, his disciples say to him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare, that thou mayest eat the passover?
Or le premier jour des azymes, auquel on immolait la pâque, ses disciples lui dirent: Où voulez-vous que nous allions vous préparer ce qu’il faut pour manger la pâque?
13 And he sends two of his disciples, and says to them, Go into the city, and a man shall meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him.
Et il envoya deux de ses disciples, et leur dit: Allez dans la ville; vous rencontrerez un homme portant une cruche d’eau, suivez-le;
14 And wheresoever he enters, say to the master of the house, The Teacher says, Where is my guest-chamber where I may eat the passover with my disciples?
Et, quelque part qu’il entre, dites au maître de la maison: Le Maître dit: Où est le lieu où je pourrai manger la pâque avec mes disciples?
15 and he will shew you a large upper room furnished ready. There make ready for us.
Et il vous montrera un grand cénacle meublé; faites-y les préparatifs pour nous.
16 And his disciples went away and came into the city, and found as he had said to them; and they made ready the passover.
Ses disciples s’en allèrent donc; ils vinrent dans la ville, trouvèrent les choses comme il leur avait dit, et préparèrent la pâque.
17 And when evening was come, he comes with the twelve.
Le soir étant venu, il vint avec les douze.
18 And as they lay at table and were eating, Jesus said, Verily I say to you, One of you shall deliver me up; he who is eating with me.
Et comme ils étaient à table et qu’ils mangeaient, Jésus leur dit: En vérité, je vous le dis, un de vous qui mange avec moi me trahira.
19 And they began to be grieved, and to say to him, one by one, Is it I? [and another, Is it I?]
Alors les disciples commencèrent à s’attrister, et à lui demander chacun en particulier: Est-ce moi?
20 But he answered and said to them, One of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.
Il leur répondit: Un des douze, qui met avec moi la main dans le plat.
21 The Son of man goes indeed as it is written concerning him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up; [it were] good for that man if he had not been born.
Pour le Fils de l’homme, il s’en va, ainsi qu’il est écrit de lui; mais malheur à l’ homme par qui le Fils de l’homme sera livré! Il vaudrait mieux pour cet homme qu’il ne fut pas né.
22 And as they were eating, Jesus, having taken bread, when he had blessed, broke [it], and gave [it] to them, and said, Take [this]: this is my body.
Et pendant qu’ils mangeaient, Jésus prit du pain, et puis l’ayant béni, il le rompit, le leur donna, et dit: Prenez, ceci est mon corps.
23 And having taken [the] cup, when he had given thanks, he gave [it] to them, and they all drank out of it.
Et, ayant pris le calice et rendu grâces, il le leur donna, et ils en burent tous.
24 And he said to them, This is my blood, that of the [new] covenant, that shed for many.
Et il leur dit: Ceci est mon sang, le sang du Nouveau Testament, qui sera répandu pour un grand nombre.
25 Verily I say to you, I will no more drink at all of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
En vérité je vous le dis, je ne boirai plus de ce fruit de la vigne, jusqu’au jour où je le boirai nouveau dans le royaume de Dieu.
26 And having sung a hymn, they went out to the mount of Olives.
Et, l’hymne dit, ils s’en allèrent au mont des Oliviers.
27 And Jesus says to them, All ye shall be offended, for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered abroad.
Et Jésus leur dit: Vous vous scandaliserez tous de moi cette nuit; car il est écrit: Je frapperai le pasteur, et les brebis se disperseront.
28 But after I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
Mais après que je serai ressuscité, je vous précéderai en Galilée.
29 But Peter said to him, Even if all should be offended, yet not I.
Pierre lui dit alors: Quand tous les autres se scandaliseraient de vous, moi, non.
30 And Jesus says to him, Verily I say to thee, that thou to-day, in this night, before [the] cock shall crow twice, thou shalt thrice deny me.
Et Jésus lui repartit: En vérité je te le dis, aujourd’hui, cette nuit même, avant qu’un coq ait chanté deux fois, tu me renieras trois fois.
31 But he said [so much] exceedingly the more, If I should have to die with thee, I will in no wise deny thee. And likewise said they all too.
Mais Pierre insistait: Quand il me faudrait mourir avec vous, je ne vous renierai pas. Et tous disaient de même.
32 And they come to a place of which the name [is] Gethsemane, and he says to his disciples, Sit here while I shall pray.
Etant venu à une maison de campagne nommée Gethsémani, il dit à ses disciples: Asseyez-vous ici pendant que je prierai.
33 And he takes with him Peter and James and John, and he began to be amazed and oppressed in spirit.
Et il prit avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean, et il commença à s’effrayer et à tomber dans l’abattement.
34 And he says to them, My soul is full of grief even unto death; abide here and watch.
Et il leur dit: Mon âme est triste jusqu’à la mort; demeurez ici et veillez.
35 And, going forward a little, he fell upon the earth; and he prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.
Et, s’étant avancé un peu, il tomba la face contre terre, et il demandait que, s’il était possible, cette heure s’éloignât de lui.
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee: take away this cup from me; but not what I will, but what thou [wilt].
Et il dit: Abba, Père, toutes choses vous sont possibles, éloignez ce calice de moi; toutefois, non ma volonté, mais la vôtre.
37 And he comes and finds them sleeping. And he says to Peter, Simon, dost thou sleep? Hast thou not been able to watch one hour?
Il revint ensuite, et, comme il les trouva dormant, il dit à Pierre: Simon, tu dors? Tu n’as pas pu veiller une heure?
38 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh weak.
Veillez et priez, afin que vous n’entriez point en tentation. L’esprit est prompt, mais la chair est faible.
39 And going away, he prayed again, saying the same thing.
Et, s’en allant de nouveau, il priait, disant les mêmes paroles.
40 And returning, he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy; and they knew not what they should answer him.
Etant revenu, il les trouva encore dormant (car leurs yeux étaient appesantis), et ils ne savaient que lui répondre.
41 And he comes the third time and says to them, Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough; the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
Il vint une troisième fois et leur dit: Dormez maintenant et reposez-vous. C’est assez; l’heure est venue, voilà que le Fils de l’homme sera livré aux mains des pécheurs.
42 Arise, let us go; behold, he that delivers me up has drawn nigh.
Levez-vous, allons; voici que celui qui me livrera approche.
43 And immediately, while he was yet speaking, Judas comes up, [being] one of the twelve, and with him a great crowd, with swords and sticks, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
Jésus parlant encore. Judas Iscariote, l’un des douze, vint, et, avec lui, une grande troupe armée d’épées et de bâtons, et envoyée par les princes des prêtres, et par les scribes et les anciens.
44 Now he that delivered him up had given them a sign between them, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he; seize him, and lead [him] away safely.
Or le traître leur avait donné un signe, disant: Celui que je baiserai, c’est lui-même, saisissez-le, et emmenez-le avec précaution.
45 And being come, straightway coming up to him, he says, Rabbi, Rabbi; and he covered him with kisses.
Etant donc venu, il s’approcha aussitôt de lui, disant: Maître, je vous salue; et il le baisa.
46 And they laid their hands upon him and seized him.
Et eux mirent la main sur lui, et le saisirent.
47 But a certain one of those who stood by, having drawn his sword, struck the bondman of the high priest, and took off his ear.
Un de ceux qui étaient présents, tirant son épée, en frappa le serviteur du grand prêtre, et il lui coupa l’oreille.
48 And Jesus answering said to them, Are ye come out as against a robber, with swords and sticks to take me?
Alors prenant la parole, Jésus leur dit: Vous êtes venus comme à un voleur, avec des épées et des bâtons, afin de me prendre.
49 I was daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye did not seize me; but [it is] that the scriptures may be fulfilled.
J’étais tous les jours parmi vous, enseignant dans le temple, et vous ne m’avez point pris; mais c’est pour que les Ecritures s’accomplissent.
50 And all left him and fled.
Alors ses disciples l’abandonnant, s’enfuirent tous.
51 And a certain young man followed him with a linen cloth cast about his naked [body]; and [the young men] seize him;
Un jeune homme le suivait, couvert seulement d’un linceul; ils se saisirent de lui.
52 but he, leaving the linen cloth behind [him], fled from them naked.
Mais, laissant le linceul, il s’enfuit nu d’au milieu d’eux.
53 And they led away Jesus to the high priest. And there come together to him all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
Cependant ils amenèrent Jésus chez le grand prêtre, où s’assemblèrent tous les prêtres, et les scribes, et les anciens.
54 And Peter followed him at a distance, till [he was] within the court of the high priest's palace; and he was sitting with the officers and warming himself in the light [of the fire].
Pierre le suivit de loin jusque dans la cour du grand prêtre; et il était assis près du feu avec les serviteurs, et se chauffait.
55 And the chief priests and the whole sanhedrim sought testimony against Jesus to cause him to be put to death, and did not find [any].
Or les princes des prêtres et tout le conseil cherchaient un témoignage contre Jésus pour le faire mourir, et ils n’en trouvaient point.
56 For many bore false witness against him, and their testimony did not agree.
Car beaucoup témoignaient faussement contre lui; mais les témoignages ne s’accordaient point.
57 And certain persons rose up and bore false witness against him, saying,
Et quelques-uns, se levant, portaient contre lui un faux témoignage, disant:
58 We heard him saying, I will destroy this temple which is made with hands, and in the course of three days I will build another not made with hands.
Nous l’avons entendu dire: Je détruirai ce temple fait de main d’homme, et en trois jours j’en rebâtirai un autre non fait de main d’homme.
59 And neither thus did their testimony agree.
Mais leur témoignage n’était pas uniforme.
60 And the high priest, rising up before them all, asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? What do these testify against thee?
Alors le grand prêtre se levant au milieu d’eux interrogea Jésus, disant: Tu ne réponds rien à ce que ceux-ci déposent contre toi?
61 But he was silent, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and says to him, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Mais Jésus se taisait, et il ne répondit rien. Le grand prêtre l’interrogea de nouveau et lui dit: Es-tu le Christ, le Fils du Dieu béni?
62 And Jesus said, I am, and ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
Et Jésus lui dit: Je le suis; et vous verrez le Fils de l’homme assis à la droite de la majesté de Dieu, et venant sur les nuées du ciel.
63 And the high priest, having rent his clothes, says, What need have we any more of witnesses?
Alors le grand prêtre déchirant ses vêtements, dit: Qu’avons-nous encore besoin de témoins.
64 Ye have heard the blasphemy; what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
Vous avez entendu le blasphème: que vous en semble? Tous le condamnèrent comme étant digne de mort.
65 And some began to spit upon him, and cover up his face, and buffet him, and say to him, Prophesy; and the officers struck him with the palms of their hands.
Aussitôt quelques-uns se mirent à cracher sur lui, à voiler sa face, à le déchirer à coups de poing et à lui dire: Prophétise! et les serviteurs le déchiraient de soufflets.
66 And Peter being below in the palace-court, there comes one of the maids of the high priest,
Et pendant que Pierre était en bas dans la cour, vint une des servantes du grand prêtre;
67 and seeing Peter warming himself, having looked at him, says, And thou wast with the Nazarene, Jesus.
Et lorsqu’elle eut aperçu Pierre qui se chauffait, le regardant, elle dit: Toi aussi tu étais avec Jésus le Nazaréen.
68 But he denied, saying, I know not nor understand what thou sayest. And he went out into the vestibule; and a cock crew.
Mais il nia, disant: Je ne sais ni ne connais ce que tu veux dire. Et il sortit devant la cour, et un coq chanta.
69 And the maid, seeing him, again began to say to those that stood by, This is [one] of them.
Or la servante l’ayant encore vu, dit à ceux qui étaient présents: Celui-ci est un d’entre eux.
70 And he again denied. And again, after a little, those that stood by said to Peter, Truly thou art [one] of them, for also thou art a Galilean.
Mais il le nia de nouveau. Et peu après ceux qui étaient là disaient à Pierre: Tu es certainement un d’entre eux, car tu es aussi Galiléen.
71 But he began to curse and to swear, I know not this man of whom ye speak.
Alors il se mit à faire des imprécations et à jurer: Je ne connais point cet homme que vous dites.
72 And the second time a cock crew. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus said to him, Before [the] cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice; and when he thought thereon he wept.
Et aussitôt un coq chanta encore. Et Pierre se ressouvint de la parole que lui avait dite Jésus: Avant qu’un coq chante deux fois, tu me renieras trois fois. Et il se mit à pleurer.
