Jeremiah 16
1 And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
Und es geschah das Wort Jehovahs an mich, sprechend:
2 Thou shalt not take thee a wife, and thou shalt not have sons nor daughters in this place.
Du sollst dir kein Weib nehmen und keine Söhne, noch Töchter haben an diesem Ort!
3 For thus saith Jehovah concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bear them, and concerning their fathers that beget them in this land:
Denn also spricht Jehovah über die Söhne und über die Töchter, die an diesem Ort geboren werden, und über ihre Mütter, die sie gebären, und über ihre Väter, die sie in diesem Lande zeugen:
4 They shall die of painful deaths; they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried; they shall be as dung upon the face of the ground, and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine, and their carcases shall be food for the fowl of the heavens and for the beasts of the earth.
Sie, die des Todes sterben an Krankheiten, sollen nicht beklagt noch begraben werden; zum Dünger sollen sie auf des Bodens Oberfläche werden, und sollen durch das Schwert und durch Hunger alle werden und ihre Leichen zum Fraß dem Gevögel des Himmels und dem Getier der Erde.
5 For thus saith Jehovah: Enter not into the house of wailing, neither go to lament or bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith Jehovah, the loving-kindness and the tender mercies.
Denn also spricht Jehovah: Gehe nicht hinein in das Haus des Klageschreis, und gehe nicht zu klagen, noch ihnen Beileid zu erzeigen, denn weggenommen habe Ich Meinen Frieden von diesem Volke, spricht Jehovah, die Barmherzigkeit und die Erbarmungen.
6 Both great and small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried; and none shall lament for them, or cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them.
Und Kleine und Große werden in diesem Lande sterben, nicht begraben werden sie und nicht wird um sie geklagt werden, und man wird sich ihretwegen nicht ritzen, noch sich kahl machen.
7 Nor shall they break [bread] for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall they give them the cup of consolations to drink for their father or for their mother.
Und sie werden ihnen nichts austeilen ob der Trauer, ihn zu trösten über den Toten, sie auch nicht mit des Trostes Becher tränken über seinen Vater und über seine Mutter.
8 And thou shalt not go into the house of feasting, to sit with them, to eat and to drink.
Und in das Haus des Gastmahls sollst du nicht eingehen, mit ihnen zu sitzen, zu essen und zu trinken.
9 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
Denn also spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, Ich lasse von diesem Ort zu Ende kommen vor euren Augen und in euren Tagen die Stimme der Fröhlichkeit, die Stimme des Bräutigams und die Stimme der Braut.
10 And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt declare unto this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath Jehovah pronounced all this great evil against us? and what is our iniquity? and what is our sin which we have committed against Jehovah our God?
Und soll geschehen, wenn du alle diese Worte diesem Volk ansagst und sie zu dir sprechen: Warum denn hat Jehovah all dies große Übel über uns geredet, und was ist unsere Missetat und was unsere Sünde, die wir gesündigt wider Jehovah, unseren Gott?
11 then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith Jehovah, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
So sollst du zu ihnen sagen: Dafür, daß eure Väter Mich verlassen haben, spricht Jehovah, und gingen anderen Göttern nach, und haben denselben gedient und sie angebetet und Mich verlassen, und haben Mein Gesetz nicht gehalten;
12 and you, ye have done still worse than your fathers; and there ye are walking every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, not to hearken unto me:
Und ihr noch ärger tut, denn eure Väter, und siehe, ihr geht, jeder Mann der Verstockt- heit seines bösen Herzens nach, daß er nicht hört auf Mich.
13 and I will cast you forth out of this land, into a land that ye know not, ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night: because I will shew you no favour.
Und Ich will euch schleudern aus diesem Lande in das Land, das ihr nicht kennt, weder ihr, noch eure Väter. Und dort mögt ihr anderen Göttern dienen bei Tag und bei Nacht, wo Ich euch keine Gnade geben werde.
14 Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith Jehovah, that it shall no more be said, [As] Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
Darum seht: Tage kommen, spricht Jehovah, daß man nicht mehr sagen wird: Jehovah lebt, Der die Söhne Israels heraufgebracht hat aus dem Lande Ägypten!
15 but, [As] Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them. For I will bring them again into their land, which I gave unto their fathers.
Sondern: Jehovah lebt, Der die Söhne Israels heraufgebracht hat aus dem Land der Mitternacht und aus allen Ländern, dahin Ich sie verstoßen hatte; und Ich will sie wiederbringen auf ihren Boden, den Ich ihren Vätern gegeben hatte.
16 Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith Jehovah, and they shall fish them; and afterwards will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them, from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
Siehe, Ich sende nach vielen Fischern, spricht Jehovah, und sie fischen sie, und danach sende Ich nach vielen Jägern, und sie erjagen sie von jedem Berg und von jedem Hügel und aus den Klüften der Felsenklippen.
17 For mine eyes are upon all their ways; they are not concealed from my face, neither is their iniquity hidden from before mine eyes.
Denn Meine Augen sind auf allen ihren Wegen; sie können sich vor Meinem Angesichte nicht verbergen, und nicht ist verdeckt vor Meinen Augen ihre Missetat.
18 But first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have profaned my land with the carcases of their detestable things, and with their abominations have they filled mine inheritance.
Und Ich vergelte vorerst zweifach ihre Missetat und ihre Sünde, darum, daß sie Mein Land entweiht haben mit dem Leichnam ihrer Scheusale, und mit ihren Greueln Mein Erbe angefüllt.
19 Jehovah, my strength and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of distress, unto thee shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and they shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited falsehood [and] vanity; and in these things there is no profit.
Jehovah, meine Stärke und meine Feste und meine Zuflucht am Tag der Drangsal! Zu Dir werden die Völkerschaften kommen vom Äußersten der Erde und sagen: Nur Lüge haben unsere Väter als Erbe gehabt, Nichtigkeit, und worin kein Nutzen ist.
20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no-gods?
Kann der Mensch sich Götter machen? Und Götter sind sie nicht.
21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know my hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is Jehovah.
Darum siehe, Ich tue ihnen zu wissen diesmal, Ich tue ihnen Meine Hand und Meine Macht zu wissen, auf daß sie wissen, daß Mein Name ist Jehovah.
