Isaiah 2

1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

Ο λόγος, ο γενόμενος δι' οράματος εις τον Ησαΐαν τον υιόν του Αμώς, περί του Ιούδα και της Ιερουσαλήμ.

2 And it shall come to pass in the end of days, [that] the mountain of Jehovah's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow unto it.

Εν ταις εσχάταις ημέραις το όρος του οίκου του Κυρίου θέλει στηριχθή επί της κορυφής των ορέων και υψωθή υπεράνω των βουνών και πάντα τα έθνη θέλουσι συρρέει εις αυτό,

3 And many peoples shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and Jehovah's word from Jerusalem.

και πολλοί λαοί θέλουσιν υπάγει και ειπεί, Έλθετε και ας αναβώμεν εις το όρος του Κυρίου, εις τον οίκον του Θεού του Ιακώβ και θέλει διδάξει ημάς τας οδούς αυτού, και θέλομεν περιπατήσει εν ταις τρίβοις αυτού. Διότι εκ Σιών θέλει εξέλθει νόμος και λόγος Κυρίου εξ Ιερουσαλήμ.

4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall reprove many peoples; and they shall forge their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning-knives: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Και θέλει κρίνει αναμέσον των εθνών και θέλει ελέγξει πολλούς λαούς και θέλουσι σφυρηλατήσει τας μαχαίρας αυτών διά υνία και τας λόγχας αυτών διά δρέπανα δεν θέλει σηκώσει μάχαιραν έθνος εναντίον έθνους, ουδέ θέλουσι μάθει πλέον τον πόλεμον.

5 House of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of Jehovah.

Οίκος Ιακώβ, έλθετε και ας περιπατήσωμεν εν τω φωτί του Κυρίου.

6 For thou hast cast off thy people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled [with what comes] from the east, and use auguries like the Philistines, and ally themselves with the children of foreigners.

Βεβαίως συ εγκατέλιπες τον λαόν σου, τον οίκον Ιακώβ, διότι ενεπλήσθησαν της ανατολής και έγειναν μάντεις ως οι Φιλισταίοι, και συνηνώθησαν μετά των τέκνων των αλλοφύλων.

7 And their land is full of silver and gold, and there is no end of their treasures: their land also is full of horses, and there is no end of their chariots.

Και η γη αυτών ενεπλήσθη αργυρίου και χρυσίου, και δεν είναι τέλος των θησαυρών αυτών ενεπλήσθη η γη αυτών και ίππων, και δεν είναι τέλος των αμαξών αυτών.

8 And their land is full of idols; they bow themselves down to the work of their own hands, to that which their fingers have made.

Και η γη αυτών ενεπλήσθη από ειδώλων ελάτρευσαν το ποίημα των χειρών αυτών, εκείνο το οποίον οι δάκτυλοι αυτών έκαμον

9 And the mean man shall be bowed down, and the great man shall be brought low: and do not thou forgive them!

και ο κοινός άνθρωπος υπέκυψε και ο μεγάλος εταπεινώθη και δεν θέλεις συγχωρήσει αυτούς.

10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty.

Είσελθε εις τον βράχον και κρύφθητι εις το χώμα, διά τον φόβον του Κυρίου και διά την δόξαν της μεγαλειότητος αυτού.

11 The lofty eyes of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.

Οι υπερήφανοι οφθαλμοί του ανθρώπου θέλουσι ταπεινωθή, και η έπαρσις των ανθρώπων θέλει υποκύψει· μόνος δε ο Κύριος θέλει υψωθή εν εκείνη τη ημέρα.

12 For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon everything proud and lofty, and upon everything lifted up, and it shall be brought low;

Διότι ημέρα Κυρίου των δυνάμεων θέλει επέλθει επί πάντα αλαζόνα και υπερήφανον και επί πάντα υψωμένον και θέλει ταπεινωθή

13 and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan;

και επί πάσας τας κέδρους του Λιβάνου τας υψηλάς και επηρμένας και επί πάσας τας δρυς της Βασάν,

14 and upon all the lofty mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up;

και επί πάντα τα υψηλά όρη και επί πάντα τα υψωμένα βουνά,

15 and upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall;

και επί πάντα πύργον υψηλόν και επί παν τείχος περιπεφραγμένον,

16 and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant works of art.

και επί πάντα τα πλοία της Θαρσείς και επί πάντα τα ηδονικά θεάματα.

17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day:

Και το ύψος του ανθρώπου θέλει υποκύψει, και η έπαρσις των ανθρώπων θέλει ταπεινωθή· μόνος δε ο Κύριος θέλει υψωθή εν εκείνη τη ημέρα.

18 and the idols shall utterly pass away.

Και τα είδωλα θέλουσιν ολοκλήρως καταστραφή.

19 And they shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall arise to terrify the earth.

Και αυτοί θέλουσιν εισέλθει εις τα σπήλαια των βράχων και εις τας τρύπας της γης, διά τον φόβον του Κυρίου και διά την δόξαν της μεγαλειότητος αυτού, όταν εγερθή διά να κλονίση την γην.

20 In that day men shall cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made [each] for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

Εν εκείνη τη ημέρα θέλει ρίψει ο άνθρωπος εις τους ασπάλακας και εις τας νυκτερίδας τα αργυρά αυτού είδωλα και τα χρυσά αυτού είδωλα, τα οποία έκαμεν εις εαυτόν διά να προσκυνή·

21 to go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the fissures of the cliffs, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall arise to terrify the earth.

διά να εισέλθωσιν εις τας σχισμάς των βράχων και εις τα σπήλαια των πετρών, διά τον φόβον του Κυρίου και διά την δόξαν της μεγαλειότητος αυτού, όταν εγερθή διά να κλονίση την γην.

22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for what account is to be made of him?

Παραιτήθητε από ανθρώπου, του οποίου η πνοή είναι εις τους μυκτήρας αυτού διότι εις τι είναι άξιος λόγου;
