Hebrews 3

1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of [the] heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus,

Así que, mis hermanos y hermanas que viven para Dios y participan de este celestial llamado: necesitamos pensar con cuidado acerca de Jesús, el que decimos que fue enviado por Dios, y quien es el Sumo Sacerdote.

2 who is faithful to him that has constituted him, as Moses also in all his house.

Él fue fiel a Dios en la obra para la cual fue elegido, así como Moisés fue fiel a Dios en la casa de Dios.

3 For he has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, by how much he that has built it has more honour than the house.

Pero Jesús es merecedor de mayor gloria que Moisés, del mismo modo que el constructor de una casa merece más crédito que la misma casa.

4 For every house is built by some one; but he who has built all things [is] God.

Cada casa tiene su constructor; Dios es el constructor de todo.

5 And Moses indeed [was] faithful in all his house, as a ministering servant, for a testimony of the things to be spoken after;

Y como siervo, Moisés fue fiel en la casa de Dios. Él nos dio evidencia de lo que sería anunciado después.

6 but Christ, as Son over his house, whose house are we, if indeed we hold fast the boldness and the boast of hope firm to the end.

Pero Cristo es un hijo, a cargo de la casa de Dios. Y nosotros somos la casa de Dios siempre y cuando nos aferremos con confianza a la esperanza en la cual decimos que creemos con orgullo.

7 Wherefore, even as says the Holy Spirit, To-day if ye will hear his voice,

Por eso el Espíritu Santo dice: “Si oyen lo que Dios les está diciendo hoy,

8 harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness;

no endurezcan sus corazones como en aquél tiempo en que se rebelaron contra él, cuando lo pusieron a prueba en el desierto.

9 where your fathers tempted [me], by proving [me], and saw my works forty years.

Los padres de ustedes me pusieron a prueba, y probaron mi paciencia, y vieron la evidencia que les mostré durante cuarenta años.

10 Wherefore I was wroth with this generation, and said, They always err in heart; and they have not known my ways;

“Tal generación despertó mi enojo y por ello dije: ‘Siempre se equivocan en su manera de pensar. No me conocen ni saben lo que estoy haciendo’.

11 so I swore in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest.

Por ello, en mi frustración hice un juramento: ‘No entrarán a mi reposo’”.

12 See, brethren, lest there be in any one of you a wicked heart of unbelief, in turning away from [the] living God.

Hermanos y hermanas, asegúrense de que ninguno de ustedes tenga un pensamiento malvado y alejado de la fe en el Dios de la vida.

13 But encourage yourselves each day, as long as it is called To-day, that none of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Anímense unos a otros cada día mientras dure el “hoy”, para que ninguno de ustedes pueda ser engañado por el pecado ni se endurezcan sus corazones.

14 For we are become companions of the Christ if indeed we hold the beginning of the assurance firm to the end;

Porque somos socios con Cristo siempre y cuando mantengamos nuestra confianza en Dios de principio a fin.

15 in that it is said, To-day if ye will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation;

Como dice la Escritura: “Si oyen lo que Dios les dice hoy, no endurezcan sus corazones como aquél tiempo en que se rebelaron contra él”.

16 (for who was it, who, having heard, provoked? but [was it] not all who came out of Egypt by Moses?

¿Quién se rebeló contra Dios aun habiendo oído lo que él dijo? ¿No fueron acaso los que fueron sacados de Egipto por Moisés?

17 And with whom was he wroth forty years? [Was it] not with those who had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

¿Contra quienes estuvo enojado Dios durante cuarenta años? ¿No fue contra aquellos que fueron sepultados en el desierto?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to those who had not hearkened to the word?

¿De quién hablaba Dios cuando hizo juramento de que no entrarían en su reposo? ¿No fue de los que lo desobedecieron?

19 And we see that they could not enter in on account of unbelief; )

Así vemos que ellos no pudieron entrar, porque no confiaron en él.
