Galatians 6
1 Brethren, if even a man be taken in some fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of meekness, considering thyself lest thou also be tempted.
Frères, quand même un homme est ouvertement surpris dans quelque faute, vous qui êtes spirituels, corrigez-le avec un esprit de douceur; prenant garde à toi-même, de peur que, toi aussi, tu ne sois tenté.
2 Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfil the law of the Christ.
Portez les fardeaux les uns des autres, et ainsi vous accomplirez la loi de Christ;
3 For if any man reputes himself to be something, being nothing, he deceives himself;
car si quelqu'un s'imagine être quelque chose, quoiqu'il ne soit rien, il se déçoit lui-même;
4 but let each prove his own work, and then he will have his boast in what belongs to himself alone, and not in what belongs to another.
mais qu'il examine ses propres œuvres, et alors c'est par rapport à lui-même seulement qu'il aura de quoi s'enorgueillir, et non par rapport à autrui,
5 For each shall bear his own burden.
car chacun portera sa propre charge;
6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate to him that teaches in all good things.
toutefois que celui auquel est enseignée la parole s'unisse à celui qui la lui enseigne pour tout ce qui est bien.
7 Be not deceived: God is not mocked; for whatever a man shall sow, that also shall he reap.
Ne vous y trompez pas: on ne se moque pas de Dieu; car ce qu'un homme sème, c'est aussi ce qu'il moissonnera.
8 For he that sows to his own flesh, shall reap corruption from the flesh; but he that sows to the Spirit, from the Spirit shall reap eternal life: (aiōnios g166)
En effet, celui qui sème pour sa propre chair moissonnera de la chair la perdition, tandis que celui qui sème pour l'esprit moissonnera de l'esprit la vie éternelle. (aiōnios g166)
9 but let us not lose heart in doing good; for in due time, if we do not faint, we shall reap.
Mais ne nous décourageons point de faire le bien, car nous moissonnerons au temps voulu, si nous ne nous relâchons point.
10 So then, as we have occasion, let us do good towards all, and specially towards those of the household of faith.
Ainsi donc, tant que nous en aurons l'occasion, faisons ce qui est bien envers tous, mais surtout envers ceux qui composent la famille de la foi.
11 See how long a letter I have written to you with my own hand.
Voyez avec quelles grandes lettres je vous ai écrit de ma propre main:
12 As many as desire to have a fair appearance in [the] flesh, these compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not be persecuted because of the cross of Christ.
Tous ceux, qui veulent se faire bien voir en ce qui tient à la chair, ce sont ceux-là qui vous contraignent de vous faire circoncire, uniquement afin de n'être pas persécutés pour la croix de Christ;
13 For neither do they that are circumcised themselves keep the law; but they wish you to be circumcised, that they may boast in your flesh.
car ces circoncis eux-mêmes n'observent pas davantage la loi, mais ils veulent que vous vous fassiez circoncire, afin de trouver en votre propre chair un motif de s'enorgueillir.
14 But far be it from me to boast save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom [the] world is crucified to me, and I to the world.
Pour moi, qu'il ne m'arrive pas de m'enorgueillir d'autre chose que de la croix de notre seigneur Jésus-Christ, par qui le monde est crucifié pour moi, et moi pour le monde;
15 For [in Christ Jesus] neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision; but new creation.
car ce n'est ni d'être circoncis, ni d'être incirconcis, qui fait rien, mais d'être une nouvelle créature.
16 And as many as shall walk by this rule, peace upon them and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
Et tous ceux qui marcheront en suivant cette règle, que la paix et la miséricorde reposent sur eux et sur l'Israël de Dieu.
17 For the rest let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the brands of the Lord Jesus.
Qu'à l'avenir personne ne me cause plus de soucis, car je porte sur mon corps les marques de Jésus.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with your spirit, brethren. Amen.
Frères, que la grâce du seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit. Amen!
