Ezekiel 1
1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth [month], on the fifth of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
Εν τω τριακοστώ έτει, τω τετάρτω μηνί, τη πέμπτη του μηνός, ενώ ήμην μεταξύ των αιχμαλώτων παρά τον ποταμόν Χεβάρ, ηνοίχθησαν οι ουρανοί και είδον οράματα του Θεού·
2 On the fifth of the month, (it was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity, )
τη πέμπτη του μηνός του έτους τούτου, του πέμπτου της αιχμαλωσίας του βασιλέως Ιωαχείν,
3 the word of Jehovah came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of Jehovah was there upon him.
έγεινε ρητώς λόγος Κυρίου προς τον Ιεζεκιήλ υιόν του Βουζεί τον ιερέα, εν τη γη των Χαλδαίων παρά τον ποταμόν Χεβάρ, και εκεί εστάθη η χειρ του Κυρίου επ' αυτόν.
4 And I looked, and behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the look of glowing brass, out of the midst of the fire.
Και είδον και ιδού, ανεμοστρόβιλος ήρχετο από βορρά, νέφος μέγα και πυρ συστρεφόμενον· πέριξ δε τούτου λάμψις και εκ μέσου αυτού εφαίνετο ως όψις ηλέκτρου, εκ μέσου του πυρός.
5 Also out of the midst thereof, the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.
Και εκ μέσου αυτού εφαίνετο τεσσάρων ζώων ομοίωμα. Και η θέα αυτών ήτο αύτη· είχον ομοίωμα ανθρώπου.
6 And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings.
Και έκαστον είχε τέσσαρα πρόσωπα και έκαστον αυτών είχε τέσσαρας πτέρυγας.
7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot; and they sparkled as the look of burnished brass.
Και οι πόδες αυτών ήσαν πόδες ορθοί, και το ίχνος του ποδός αυτών όμοιον με ίχνος ποδός μόσχου· και εσπινθηροβόλουν ως όψις χαλκού στίλβοντος.
8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings:
Και είχον χείρας ανθρώπου υποκάτωθεν των πτερύγων αυτών, εις τα τέσσαρα αυτών μέρη· και τα τέσσαρα είχον τα πρόσωπα αυτών και τας πτέρυγας αυτών.
9 their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
Αι πτέρυγες αυτών συνείχοντο η μία μετά της άλλης· δεν εστρέφοντο ενώ εβάδιζον· κατέναντι του προσώπου αυτών επορεύοντο έκαστον.
10 And the likeness of their faces was the face of a man; and they four had the face of a lion on the right side; and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four had also the face of an eagle.
Περί δε του ομοιώματος του προσώπου αυτών, τα τέσσαρα είχον πρόσωπον ανθρώπου, και πρόσωπον λέοντος κατά το δεξιόν μέρος· και τα τέσσαρα είχον πρόσωπον βοός κατά το αριστερόν· είχον και τα τέσσαρα πρόσωπον αετού.
11 And their faces and their wings were parted above; two [wings] of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
Και τα πρόσωπα αυτών και αι πτέρυγες αυτών ήσαν διηρημέναι προς τα άνω· δύο εκάστου συνείχοντο η μία μετά της άλλης και δύο εκάλυπτον τα σώματα αυτών.
12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the Spirit was to go, they went; they turned not when they went.
Και επορεύοντο έκαστον κατέναντι του προσώπου αυτού· όπου το πνεύμα εφέρετο, εκεί εβάδιζον· ενώ εβάδιζον, δεν εστρέφοντο.
13 And as for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, as the appearance of torches: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright; and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Περί δε του ομοιώματος των ζώων, η θέα αυτών ήτο ως καιόμενοι άνθρακες πυρός, ως θέα λαμπάδων· τούτο συνεστρέφετο μεταξύ των ζώων· και ήτο το πυρ λαμπρόν, και αστραπή εξήρχετο από του πυρός.
14 And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
Και τα ζώα έτρεχον και επέστρεφον ως η θέα της αστραπής.
15 And I looked at the living creatures, and behold, one wheel upon the earth beside the living creatures, toward their four faces.
Και ως είδον τα ζώα, ιδού, τροχός εις επί την γην, πλησίον των ζώων εις τα τέσσαρα αυτών πρόσωπα.
16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was as the look of a chrysolite; and they four had one likeness; and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
Η θέα των τροχών και η εργασία αυτών ήσαν ως όψις βηρύλλου· και οι τέσσαρες είχον το αυτό ομοίωμα· και η θέα αυτών και η εργασία αυτών ήσαν ως εάν ήτο τροχός εν μέσω τροχού.
17 When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not when they went.
Ότε εβάδιζον, εκινούντο κατά τα τέσσαρα αυτών πλάγια· δεν εστρέφοντο ενώ εβάδιζον.
18 As for their rims, they were high and dreadful; and they four had their rims full of eyes round about.
Οι δε κύκλοι αυτών ήσαν τόσον υψηλοί, ώστε έκαμνον φόβον· και οι κύκλοι αυτών πλήρεις οφθαλμών κύκλω των τεσσάρων τούτων.
19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
Και ότε τα ζώα επορεύοντο, επορεύοντο οι τροχοί πλησίον αυτών· και ότε τα ζώα υψόνοντο από της γης, υψόνοντο και οι τροχοί.
20 Whithersoever the Spirit was to go, they went, thither would [their] spirit go; and the wheels were lifted up along with them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
Όπου ήτο να υπάγη το πνεύμα, εκεί επορεύοντο, εκεί το πνεύμα ήτο να υπάγη· και οι τροχοί υψόνοντο απέναντι τούτων, διότι το πνεύμα των ζώων ήτο εν τοις τροχοίς.
21 When those went, they went; and when those stood, they stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up along with them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
Ότε εκείνα επορεύοντο, επορεύοντο και ούτοι· και ότε εκείνα ίσταντο, ίσταντο και ούτοι· ότε δε εκείνα υψόνοντο από της γης, και οι τροχοί υψόνοντο απέναντι αυτών, διότι το πνεύμα των ζώων ήτο εν τοις τροχοίς.
22 And there was the likeness of an expanse over the heads of the living creature, as the look of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
Και το ομοίωμα του στερεώματος του επάνωθεν της κεφαλής των ζώων ήτο ως όψις φοβερού κρυστάλλου, εξηπλωμένου υπέρ τας κεφαλάς αυτών.
23 And under the expanse were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two which covered on this side, and every one had two which covered on that side their bodies.
Υποκάτω δε του στερεώματος ήσαν εκτεταμέναι αι πτέρυγες αυτών, η μία προς την άλλην· δύο είχεν έκαστον, με τας οποίας εκάλυπτον τα σώματα αυτών.
24 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, a tumultuous noise, as the noise of a host: when they stood, they let down their wings;
Και ότε επορεύοντο, ήκουον τον ήχον των πτερύγων αυτών, ως ήχον υδάτων πολλών, ως φωνήν του Παντοδυνάμου, και την φωνήν της λαλιάς ως φωνήν στρατοπέδου· ότε ίσταντο, κατεβίβαζον τας πτέρυγας αυτών.
25 and there was a voice from above the expanse that was over their heads. When they stood, they let down their wings.
Και εγίνετο φωνή άνωθεν εκ του στερεώματος του υπέρ την κεφαλήν αυτών· ότε ίσταντο, κατεβίβαζον τας πτέρυγας αυτών.
26 And above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone; and upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
Υπεράνωθεν δε του στερεώματος του υπέρ την κεφαλήν αυτών εφαίνετο ομοίωμα θρόνου, ως θέα λίθου σαπφείρου· και επί του ομοιώματος του θρόνου ομοίωμα ως θέα ανθρώπου καθημένου επ' αυτόν άνωθεν.
27 And I saw as the look of glowing brass, as the appearance of fire, within it round about; from the appearance of his loins and upward, and from the appearance of his loins and downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
Και είδον ως όψιν ηλέκτρου, ως θέαν πυρός εν αυτώ κύκλω, από της θέας της οσφύος αυτού και επάνω· και από της θέας της οσφύος αυτού και κάτω είδον ως θέαν πυρός, και είχε λάμψιν κύκλω.
28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Jehovah. And when I saw, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.
Ως η θέα του τόξου, του γινομένον εν τη νεφέλη εν ημέρα βροχής, ούτως ήτο η θέα της λάμψεως κύκλω. Αύτη ήτο η θέα του ομοιώματος της δόξης του Κυρίου. Και ότε είδον, έπεσον επί πρόσωπόν μου και ήκουσα φωνήν λαλούντος.
