Acts 1
1 I composed the first discourse, O Theophilus, concerning all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach,
Sa nahauna kong basahon, O Teofilo, naghisgot ako mahitungod sa tanang butang nga gisugdan ni Jesus sa pagbuhat ug pagpanudlo,
2 until that day in which, having by the Holy Spirit charged the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;
hangtud sa adlaw sa pagbayaw kaniya paingon sa langit, tapus siya makahatag ug mga tugon pinaagi sa Espiritu Santo ngadto sa mga apostoles nga iyang gipili.
3 to whom also he presented himself living, after he had suffered, with many proofs; being seen by them during forty days, and speaking of the things which concern the kingdom of God;
Tapus sa iyang pag-antus, kanila mipakita siya nga buhi pinaagi sa daghang mga pagpamatuod, nga nagpakita ngadto kanila sulod sa kap-atan ka adlaw, ug nagsulti kanila mahitungod sa gingharian sa Dios.
4 and, being assembled with [them], commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, which [said he] ye have heard of me.
Ug samtang diha siya uban kanila, siya misugo kanila sa dili pagbiya sa Jerusalem, kondili sa pagpaabut sa gisaad sa Amahan, nga, matud pa niya, "inyong nadungog gikan kanako,
5 For John indeed baptised with water, but ye shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit after now not many days.
kay si Juan sa pagkatinuod nagpangbautismo sa tubig, apan sa dili madugay ang igabautismo kaninyo mao ang Espiritu Santo."
6 They therefore, being come together, asked him saying, Lord, is it at this time that thou restorest the kingdom to Israel?
Ug unya sa nagkatigum sila, gipangutana siya nila nga nag-ingon, "Ginoo, niini bang panahona karon igapahiuli mo ang gingharian ngadto sa Israel?"
7 And he said to them, It is not yours to know times or seasons, which the Father has placed in his own authority;
Ug siya mitubag kanila, "Dili itugot kaninyo ang pagkasayud sa mga panahon o mga kahigayonan nga gitudlo sa Amahan pinaagi sa iyang kaugalingong kagahum.
8 but ye will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Apan kamo magadawat hinoon ug gahum sa diha nga kakunsaran na kamo sa Espiritu Santo; ug kamo mao unya ang akong mga saksi sa Jerusalem ug sa tibuok Judea ug Samaria ug hangtud sa kinatumyan sa yuta."
9 And having said these things he was taken up, they beholding [him], and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Ug sa nakasulti na siya niini, samtang nanagtan-aw sila, naisa siya sa kahitas-an ug gibayaw sa usa ka panganud hawa sa ilang mga mata.
10 And as they were gazing into heaven, as he was going, behold, also two men stood by them in white clothing,
Ug samtang nanagtutok pa sila sa langit sa nagpaingon siya sa itaas, tan-awa, nagtindog tupad kanila ang duha ka tawo nga nagbistig maputi,
11 who also said, Men of Galilee, why do ye stand looking into heaven? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall thus come in the manner in which ye have beheld him going into heaven.
ug miingon kanila, "Mga tawong Galileanhon, nganong nagatindog man kamo dinhi ug nagatutok sa langit? Kining maong Jesus nga gikuha gikan kaninyo ngadto sa langit, mobalik ra unya sa paagi nga sama sa inyong nakita sa iyang pagsaka sa langit."
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called [the mount] of Olives, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath-day's journey off.
Ug unya namauli sila sa Jerusalem gikan sa bungtod nga ginganlan ug Olivo nga duol sa Jerusalem, nga may gilay-on nga sama sa malakaw sa usa ka adlaw nga igpapahulay.
13 And when they were come into [the city], they went up to the upper chamber, where were staying both Peter, and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James [son] of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Jude [the brother] of James.
Ug sa nakasulod na sila, misaka sila sa lawak sa itaas diin didto mag-abutan sila si Pedro ug si Juan ug si Santiago ug si Andres, si Felipe ug si Tomas, si Bartolome ug si Mateo, si Santiago nga anak ni Alfeo, si Simon nga Zelote ug si Judas nga anak ni Santiago.
14 These gave themselves all with one accord to continual prayer, with [several] women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Kini silang tanan nanagpadayon sa paghiusa sa pag-ampo, kauban sa mga babaye lakip kang Maria nga inahan ni Jesus, ug kauban sa iyang mga igsoong lalaki.
15 And in those days Peter, standing up in the midst of the brethren, said, (the crowd of names [who were] together [was] about a hundred and twenty, )
Ug niadtong mga adlawa si Pedro mitindog taliwala sa kaigsoonan (dihay pundok sa mga usa ka gatus ug kaluhaan ka tawo), ug miingon kanila,
16 Brethren, it was necessary that the scripture should have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before, by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus;
"Mga igsoon, kinahanglan nga matuman gayud ang kasulatan nga gipamulong daan sa Espiritu Santo pinaagi sa baba ni David, mahitungod kang Judas nga nahimong magtotultol sa mga nanagdakop kang Jesus.
17 for he was numbered amongst us, and had received a part in this service.
Kay kadto siya nahiapil man kanamo ug nakabaton ug bahin niining maong pagpang-alagad.
18 (This [man] then indeed got a field with [the] reward of iniquity, and, having fallen down headlong, burst in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
(Ug kini siya nakapanag-iyag usa ka luna nga yuta gumikan sa gisuhol kaniya sa iyang pagkadili matarung; ug sa pagkahulog niya nga nag-una ang ulo, mibuto ang iyang tiyan ug nahurot pagkayagyag ang iyang tinai.
19 And it was known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own dialect Aceldama; that is, field of blood.)
Ug nahibaloan kini sa tanang nanagpuyo sa Jerusalem nga tungod niana kadtong yutaa ginganlan ug Akeldama sa ilang pinulongan, nga sa ato pa, Yuta nga Dugoon.'
20 For it is written in [the] book of Psalms, Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it; and, Let another take his overseership.
Kay sa basahon sa mga Salmo nahisulat kini nga nagaingon: `Ipahimong awaaw ang iyang yutang puloy-anan, ug ayaw na kini papuy-ig tawo;' ug `Ang iyang katungdanan ipakuha sa lain.'
21 It is necessary therefore, that of the men who have assembled with us all [the] time in which the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,
Busa, sa mga tawo nga among gikauban sulod sa tanang panahon nga ang Ginoong Jesus misulod ug migula sa among taliwala,
22 beginning from the baptism of John until the day in which he was taken up from us, one of these should be a witness with us of his resurrection.
sukad sa pagpangbautismo ni Juan hangtud sa adlaw sa pagbayaw kaniya gikan kanatousa niining mga tawhana kinahanglan himoon nga uban kanamo saksi sa iyang pagkabanhaw."
23 And they appointed two, Joseph, who was called Barsabas, who had been surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
Ug ilang gipaatubang ang duha ka tawo nga pagapilian, si Jose nga ginganlan ug Barsabas nga gianggaan ug Justo, ug si Matias.
24 And they prayed, and said, Thou Lord, knower of the hearts of all, shew which one of these two thou hast chosen,
Ug nanag-ampo sila nga nag-ingon, "Ginoo, ikaw nga nasayud sa mga kasingkasing sa tanang tawo, ipasundayag kinsa niining duha ang imong gipili
25 to receive the lot of this service and apostleship, from which Judas transgressing fell to go to his own place.
nga maoy mokuha sa dapit niining pagpang-alagad ug pagka-apostol nga gibiyaan ni Judas nga miadto sa iyang kaugalingong dapit."
26 And they gave lots on them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Ug ilang giripahan sila, ug si Matias mao ang nahitungnan; ug siya naihap nga kauban sa napulog-usa ka mga apostoles.
