2 Chronicles 8

1 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the house of Jehovah and his own house,

Y aconteció que al cabo de veinte años, que Salomón hubo edificado la casa de Jehová, y su casa,

2 that the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.

Edificó Salomón las ciudades que Hiram había dado a Salomón, y puso en ellas a los hijos de Israel.

3 And Solomon went to Hamath-Zobah, and overcame it.

Después vino Salomón a Emat Suba, y la tomó.

4 And he built Tadmor, in the wilderness, and all the store-cities, which he built in Hamath.

Y edificó a Tadmor en el desierto, y todas las ciudades de las municiones, que edificó en el desierto.

5 And he built upper Beth-Horon and lower Beth-Horon, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars;

Asimismo reedificó a Bet-orón la de arriba, y a Bet-orón la de abajo, ciudades fortificadas de muros, puertas, y barras.

6 and Baalath, and all the store-cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for chariots, and the cities for the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and on Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

Ítem, a Balaat, y a todas las villas de munición, que tenía Salomón: también todas las ciudades de los carros, y las de la gente de a caballo: y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalem, y en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra de su señorío,

7 All the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel,

Y a todo el pueblo, que había quedado de los Jetteos, Amorreos, Ferezeos, Heveos, Jebuseos, que no eran de Israel;

8 their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel had not destroyed, upon them did Solomon impose tribute-service until this day.

Los hijos de los que habían quedado en la tierra después de ellos, a los cuales los hijos de Israel no destruyeron del todo, hizo Salomón tributarios hasta hoy.

9 But of the children of Israel, of them did Solomon make no bondmen for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots and his horsemen.

Y de los hijos de Israel no puso Salomón siervos en su obra; porque eran hombres de guerra, y sus príncipes, y sus capitanes, y príncipes de sus carros, y su gente de a caballo.

10 And these were the chief of king Solomon's superintendents, two hundred and fifty, that ruled over the people.

Y tenía Salomón doscientos y cincuenta príncipes de los gobernadores, los cuales presidían en el pueblo.

11 And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David to the house which he had built for her; for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the [places] are holy to which the ark of Jehovah has come.

Y pasó Salomón a la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a la casa que él le había edificado; porque dijo entre sí: Mi mujer no morará en la casa de David rey de Israel, porque son cosas sagradas, por haber entrado en ellas el arca de Jehová.

12 Then Solomon offered up burnt-offerings to Jehovah on the altar of Jehovah, which he had built before the porch;

Entonces ofreció Salomón holocaustos a Jehová sobre el altar de Jehová, que había edificado delante del portal;

13 even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and at the set feasts, three times in the year, — at the feast of unleavened bread, and at the feast of weeks, and at the feast of tabernacles.

Para que ofreciesen cada cosa en su día, conforme al mandamiento de Moisés, en los sábados, nuevas lunas, y fiestas, tres veces en el año; en la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, en la fiesta de las semanas, y en la fiesta de las cabañas.

14 And he appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests for their service, and the Levites for their charges, to praise and serve before the priests, as the duty of every day required; and the doorkeepers by their divisions at every gate: for such was the commandment of David the man of God;

Y constituyó los repartimientos de los sacerdotes en sus oficios, conforme a la ordenación de David su padre: los Levitas por sus ordenes, para que alabasen y ministrasen delante de los sacerdotes, cada cosa en su día: y los porteros por su orden a cada puerta: porque así lo había mandado David, varón de Dios.

15 and they did not depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and the Levites concerning any matter, nor concerning the treasures.

Y no salieron del mandamiento del rey en cuanto a los sacerdotes, y Levitas, y los tesoros, y todo negocio.

16 And all the work of Solomon was prepared, to the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah and to its completion. [So] the house of Jehovah was finished.

Porque toda la obra de Salomón estaba aparejada, desde el día que la casa de Jehová fue fundada hasta que se acabó, que la casa de Jehová fue acabada del todo.

17 Then went Solomon to Ezion-geber, and to Eloth, on the seashore in the land of Edom.

Entonces Salomón fue a Asión-gaber, y a Elat a la costa de la mar en la tierra de Edom.

18 And Huram sent him by his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and fetched thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.

Porque Hiram le había enviado navíos por mano de sus siervos, y marineros diestros por la mar, los cuales habían ido con los siervos de Salomón a Ofir, y habían tomado de allá cuatrocientos y cincuenta talentos de oro, y los habían traído al rey Salomón.
