1 Timothy 1

1 Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ, according to [the] command of God our Saviour, and of Christ Jesus our hope,

١ مِنْ بُولُسَ، رَسُولِ الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ وَفْقاً لأَمْرِ اللهِ مُخَلِّصِنَا وَالْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ رَجَائِنَا،

2 to Timotheus, [my] true child in faith: grace, mercy, peace, from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

٢ إِلَى تِيمُوثَاوُسَ وَلَدِي الْحَقِيقِيِّ فِي الإِيمَانِ. لِتَكُنْ لَكَ النِّعْمَةُ وَالرَّحْمَةُ وَالسَّلامُ مِنَ اللهِ أَبِينَا وَالْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ رَبِّنَا!

3 Even as I begged thee to remain in Ephesus, [when I was] going to Macedonia, that thou mightest enjoin some not to teach other doctrines,

٣ كَمَا أَوْصَيْتُكَ لَمَّا كُنْتُ مُنْطَلِقاً إِلَى مُقَاطَعَةِ مَقِدُونِيَّةَ، (أَطْلُبُ إِلَيْكَ) أَنْ تَبْقَى فِي مَدِينَةِ أَفَسُسَ، لِكَيْ تَمْنَعَ بَعْضَ الْمُعَلِّمِينَ مِنْ نَشْرِ التَّعَالِيمِ الْمُخَالِفَةِ لِلتَّعْلِيمِ الصَّحِيحِ،

4 nor to turn their minds to fables and interminable genealogies, which bring questionings rather than [further] God's dispensation, which [is] in faith.

٤ وَتُوصِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَّا يَنْشَغِلُوا بِالأَسَاطِيرِ وَسَلاسِلِ النَّسَبِ الْمُتَشَابِكَةِ. فَتِلْكَ الأُمُورُ تُثِيرُ الْمُجَادَلاتِ وَلا تَعْمَلُ عَلَى تَقَدُّمِ تَدْبِيرِ اللهِ الْقَائِمِ عَلَى الإِيمَانِ.

5 But the end of what is enjoined is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and unfeigned faith;

٥ أَمَّا الْغَايَةُ مِمَّا أَوْصَيْتُكَ بِهِ، فَهِيَ الْمَحَبَّةُ النَّابِعَةُ مِنْ قَلْبٍ طَاهِرٍ وَضَمِيرٍ صَالِحٍ وَإِيمَانٍ خَالٍ مِنَ الرِّيَاءِ.

6 which [things] some having missed, have turned aside to vain discourse,

٦ هَذِهِ الْفَضَائِلُ قَدْ زَاغَ عَنْهَا بَعْضُهُمْ، فَانْحَرَفُوا إِلَى الْمُجَادَلاتِ الْبَاطِلَةِ،

7 desiring to be law-teachers, not understanding either what they say or concerning what they [so] strenuously affirm.

٧ رَاغِبِينَ فِي أَنْ يَكُونُوا أَسَاتِذَةً فِي الشَّرِيعَةِ، وَهُمْ لَا يَفْهَمُونَ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَلا مَا يُقَرِّرُونَ!

8 Now we know that the law [is] good if any one uses it lawfully,

٨ إِنَّنَا نَعْلَمُ أَنَّ الشَّرِيعَةَ جَيِّدَةٌ فِي ذَاتِهَا، إِذَا اسْتُعْمِلَتِ اسْتِعْمَالاً شَرْعِيًّا.

9 knowing this, that law has not its application to a righteous person, but to [the] lawless and insubordinate, to [the] impious and sinful, to [the] unholy and profane, to smiters of fathers and smiters of mothers; to murderers,

٩ إِذْ نُدْرِكُ أَنَّ الشَّرِيعَةَ لَا تُوضَعُ لِمَنْ كَانَ بَارّاً، بَلْ لِلأَشْرَارِ وَالْمُتَمَرِّدِينَ، وَالْفَاجِرِينَ وَالْخَاطِئِينَ، وَالنَّجِسِينَ وَالدَّنِسِينَ، وَقَاتِلِي آبَائِهِمْ وَأُمَّهَاتِهِمْ، وَقَاتِلِي النَّاسِ،

10 fornicators, sodomites, kidnappers, liars, perjurers; and if any other thing is opposed to sound teaching,

١٠ وَالزُّنَاةِ وَمُضَاجِعِي الذُّكُورِ، وَخَطَّافِي النَّاسِ وَالْكَذَّابِينَ وَشَاهِدِي الزُّورِ. وَذَوِي كُلِّ شَرٍّ آخَرَ يُخَالِفُ التَّعْلِيمَ الصَّحِيحَ

11 according to the glad tidings of the glory of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.

١١ الْمُوَافِقَ لإِنْجِيلِ مَجْدِ اللهِ الْمُبَارَكِ، ذَلِكَ الإِنْجِيلِ الَّذِي وُضِعَ أَمَانَةً بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ.

12 [And] I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me power, that he has counted me faithful, appointing to ministry him

١٢ وَكَمْ أَشْكُرُ الْمَسِيحَ يَسُوعَ رَبَّنَا الَّذِي أَعْطَانِي الْقُدْرَةَ وَعَيَّنَنِي خَادِماً لَهُ، إِذِ اعْتَبَرَنِي جَدِيراً بِثِقَتِهِ،

13 who before was a blasphemer and persecutor, and an insolent overbearing [man]: but mercy was shewn me because I did it ignorantly, in unbelief.

١٣ مَعَ أَنِّي كُنْتُ فِي الْمَاضِي مُجَدِّفاً عَلَيْهِ، وَمُضْطَهِداً وَمُهِيناً لَهُ! وَلَكِنِّي عُومِلْتُ بِالرَّحْمَةِ، لأَنِّي عَمِلْتُ مَا عَمِلْتُهُ عَنْ جَهْلٍ وَفِي عَدَمِ إِيمَانٍ.

14 But the grace of our Lord surpassingly over-abounded with faith and love, which [is] in Christ Jesus.

١٤ إِلَّا أَنَّ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّنَا قَدْ فَاضَتْ عَلَيَّ فَوْقَ كُلِّ حَدٍّ، وَمَعَهَا الإِيمَانُ وَالْمَحَبَّةُ، وَذَلِكَ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ.

15 Faithful [is] the word, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am [the] first.

١٥ مَا أَصْدَقَ هَذَا الْقَوْلَ، وَمَا أَجْدَرَهُ بِالتَّصْدِيقِ الْكُلِّيِّ: إِنَّ الْمَسِيحَ يَسُوعَ قَدْ جَاءَ إِلَى الْعَالَمِ لِيُخَلِّصَ الْخَاطِئِينَ، وَأَنَا أَوَّلُهُمْ!

16 But for this reason mercy was shewn me, that in me, [the] first, Jesus Christ might display the whole long-suffering, for a delineation of those about to believe on him to life eternal. (aiōnios g166)

١٦ وَلَكِنْ لِهَذَا السَّبَبِ عُومِلْتُ بِالرَّحْمَةِ، لِيَجْعَلَ يَسُوعُ الْمَسِيحُ مِنِّي، أَنَا أَوَّلاً، مِثَالاً يُظْهِرُ صَبْرَهُ الطَّوِيلَ، لِجَمِيعِ الَّذِينَ سَيُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ لِنَوَالِ الْحَيَاةِ الأَبَدِيَّةِ. (aiōnios g166)

17 Now to the King of the ages, [the] incorruptible, invisible, only God, honour and glory to the ages of ages. Amen. (aiōn g165)

١٧ فَلِلْمَلِكِ الأَزَلِيِّ، اللهِ الْوَاحِدِ غَيْرِ الْمَنْظُورِ وَغَيْرِ الْفَانِي، الْكَرَامَةُ وَالْمَجْدُ إِلَى أَبَدِ الآبِدِينَ. آمِين! (aiōn g165)

18 This charge, [my] child Timotheus, I commit to thee, according to the prophecies as to thee preceding, in order that thou mightest war by them the good warfare,

١٨ هذِهِ التَّوْصِيَاتُ، يَا تِيمُوثَاوُسُ وَلَدِي، أُسَلِّمُهَا لَكَ، بِمُقْتَضَى النُّبُوآتِ السَّابِقَةِ الْمُخْتَصَّةِ بِكَ، وَغَايَتِي أَنْ تُحْسِنَ الْجِهَادَ فِي حَرْبِكَ الرُّوحِيَّةِ،

19 maintaining faith and a good conscience; which [last] some, having put away, have made shipwreck as to faith;

١٩ مُتَمَسِّكاً بِالإِيمَانِ، وَبِالضَّمِيرِ الصَّالِحِ، هَذَا الضَّمِيرِ الَّذِي تَخَلَّى عَنْهُ بَعْضُهُمْ، فَانْكَسَرَتْ بِهِمْ سَفِينَةُ الإِيمَانِ.

20 of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan, that they may be taught by discipline not to blaspheme.

٢٠ وَمِنْ هؤُلاءِ هِمِنَايُوسُ وَإِسْكَنْدَرُ، وَقَدْ سَلَّمْتُهُمَا إِلَى الشَّيْطَانِ لِيتَعَلَّمَا بِالتَّأْدِيبِ أَلَّا يُجَدِّفَا.
