< 1 Timothy 3 >

1 The word [is] faithful: if any one aspires to exercise oversight, he desires a good work.
Akcang pyen ta: Kpami mat naw sangcim üng ngvai a bi hlü hin akdaw säiha ngaihnak ni.
2 The overseer then must be irreproachable, husband of one wife, sober, discreet, decorous, hospitable, apt to teach;
Sangcim ngvai cun kbäüeinak am ve yah: a khyu mat däk ve yah khai, a mlung mhnemki, amät nängeiki, dawkyaki, a ima khin khina theiki, mtheinak pi pawh theiki,
3 not given to excesses from wine, not a striker, but mild, not addicted to contention, not fond of money,
ju käh mpyüiki, ngtun käh pawhki, hniphnawiki, dim’ye lü ngui pi käh jawng na yah khai,
4 conducting his own house well, having [his] children in subjection with all gravity;
ani cun amäta imkyawng up khawh lü a canae naw leisawng u lü a mtheh pi ngja yah khaie.
5 (but if one does not know how to conduct his own house, how shall he take care of the assembly of God?)
Amäta imkyawng up vai am ksingki naw ihawkba Pamhnama sangcim cun msümcei khai ni?
6 not a novice, that he may not, being inflated, fall into [the] fault of the devil.
Jumeinak üng ngkhäng lü käh awhcah yah khai, Khawyai cun awhcah lü mkatnak a yaha kba käh thawn khai ni.
7 But it is necessary that he should have also a good testimony from those without, that he may fall not into reproach and [the] snare of the devil.
Ani cun sangcim k'uma am veki khyange naw ami leisawng üngva Khawyaia mannak hlü üng lät lü a jo pi am se khai ni.
8 Ministers, in like manner, grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not seeking gain by base means,
Sangcim k'uma khüikie pi ngneisak daw lü ngcimcaihki; nguia hnu käh läk lü ju pi käh mpyüihmah yah khai;
9 holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
amimi naw mdana ngthungtak cun ksingkhyapnak kcang am kcüng yah khaie ni.
10 And let these be first proved, then let them minister, being without charge [against them].
Akcüka sükcetnak kham u lü acun ami lät üng khüi bi yah khaie.
11 [The] women in like manner grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
Ami khyue pi ami ngneisak daw lü cawkcek käh pawh lü anaküt üng thephya lü mlung mhnemkiea kya yah khaie ni.
12 Let [the] ministers be husbands of one wife, conducting [their] children and their own houses well:
Sangcim üng khüiki cun a khyu mat däk ve yah khai, a canae ja a imkyawng cun akdawa jah up khawh yah khai.
13 for those who shall have ministered well obtain for themselves a good degree, and much boldness in faith which [is] in Christ Jesus.
Sangcim k'uma khüikie cun akdawa ngdüi tho lü Khritaw Jesuh jumeinaka mawng pi ling lü pyen khawh yah khai.
14 These things I write to thee, hoping to come to thee more quickly;
Ahina ca ka yuk lawa kba, säng säng se nami veia law lü ning jah hmu khaia äpei veng.
15 but if I delay, in order that thou mayest know how one ought to conduct oneself in God's house, which is [the] assembly of [the] living God, [the] pillar and base of the truth.
Lüpi ka cü üngta ahina ca naw ngthungtak däh lü ktunga kyakia Pamhnama imbung ja xüngseikia Pamhnama sangcim k'uma ihawkba vecawh vai ti cun ning jah ksingsak khai ni.
16 And confessedly the mystery of piety is great. God has been manifested in flesh, has been justified in [the] Spirit, has appeared to angels, has been preached among [the] nations, has been believed on in [the] world, has been received up in glory.
Mi hjawkkhah ning ihlawka ngthup lü dämki ti cun u naw pi am kpet khawh: Ani cun nghngicima kba ngdang law lü akcün akha üng Ngmüimkhya naw a ngdansak, khankhawngsä he naw hmukie, ani cun khyangmjüea veia kpyaü hükie, khawmdek lum üng jumei u lü khankhawa kai beki ni.
