1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made for all men;
Amonesto, pues, ante todas cosas, que se hagan rogativas, oraciones, peticiones y acciones de gracias, por todos los hombres:
2 for kings and all that are in dignity, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all piety and gravity;
Por los reyes, y por todos los que están en autoridad; que vivamos quieta y reposadamente en toda piedad y honestidad.
3 for this is good and acceptable before our Saviour God,
Porque esto es bueno y agradable delante de Dios Salvador nuestro:
4 who desires that all men should be saved and come to [the] knowledge of [the] truth.
El cual quiere que todos los hombres sean salvos, y que vengan al conocimiento de la verdad.
5 For God is one, and [the] mediator of God and men one, [the] man Christ Jesus,
Porque hay un Dios, y asimismo un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres, el hombre Cristo Jesús;
6 who gave himself a ransom for all, the testimony [to be rendered] in its own times;
El cual se dio a sí mismo en precio del rescate por todos, para testimonio en su propio tiempo.
7 to which I have been appointed a herald and apostle, (I speak [the] truth, I do not lie, ) a teacher of [the] nations in faith and truth.
Para lo que yo soy puesto por predicador y apóstol, (digo verdad en Cristo, no miento, ) instruidor de las naciones en fe y verdad.
8 I will therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up pious hands, without wrath or reasoning.
Quiero, pues, que los varones oren en todo lugar, levantando manos limpias, sin ira ni contienda.
9 In like manner also that the women in decent deportment and dress adorn themselves with modesty and discretion, not with plaited [hair] and gold, or pearls, or costly clothing,
Asimismo también oren las mujeres en hábito honesto, ataviándose de vergüenza y modestia; no con cabellos encrespados, o oro, o perlas, o vestidos costosos;
10 but, what becomes women making profession of the fear of God, by good works.
Mas de buenas obras, como conviene a mujeres que profesan la piedad.
11 Let a woman learn in quietness in all subjection;
La mujer aprenda en silencio con toda sujeción.
12 but I do not suffer a woman to teach nor to exercise authority over man, but to be in quietness;
Porque no permito a la mujer enseñar, ni tomarse autoridad sobre el varón, sino estar en silencio.
13 for Adam was formed first, then Eve:
Porque Adam fue formado el primero: luego Eva.
14 and Adam was not deceived; but the woman, having been deceived, was in transgression.
Y Adam no fue engañado; mas la mujer siendo engañada incurrió en la prevaricación.
15 But she shall be preserved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with discretion.
Empero será salva engendrando hijos, si permaneciere en la fe y caridad, y en santificación y modestia.
