1 Thessalonians 5

1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that ye should be written to,

സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കാലങ്ങളെയും സമയങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ എഴുതിയറിയിപ്പാൻ ആവശ്യമില്ല.

2 for ye know perfectly well yourselves, that the day of [the] Lord so comes as a thief by night.

കള്ളൻ രാത്രിയിൽ വരുമ്പോലെ കൎത്താവിന്റെ നാൾ വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ നന്നായി അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

3 When they may say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon her that is with child; and they shall in no wise escape.

അവർ സമാധാനമെന്നും നിൎഭയമെന്നും പറയുമ്പോൾ ഗൎഭിണിക്കു പ്രസവവേദന വരുമ്പോലെ അവൎക്കു പെട്ടെന്നു നാശം വന്നു ഭവിക്കും; അവൎക്കു തെറ്റിയൊഴിയാവതുമല്ല.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief:

എന്നാൽ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ആ നാൾ കള്ളൻ എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളെ പിടിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഇരുട്ടിലുള്ളവരല്ല;

5 for all ye are sons of light and sons of day; we are not of night nor of darkness.

നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കളും പകലിന്റെ മക്കളും ആകുന്നു; നാം രാത്രിക്കും ഇരുളിന്നുമുള്ളവരല്ല.

6 So then do not let us sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober;

ആകയാൽ നാം ശേഷമുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ ഉറങ്ങാതെ ഉണൎന്നും സുബോധമായുമിരിക്ക.

7 for they that sleep sleep by night, and they that drink drink by night;

ഉറങ്ങുന്നവർ രാത്രിയിൽ ഉറങ്ങുന്നു; മദ്യപിക്കുന്നവർ രാത്രിയിൽ മദ്യപിക്കുന്നു.

8 but we being of [the] day, let us be sober, putting on [the] breastplate of faith and love, and as helmet [the] hope of salvation;

നാമോ പകലിന്നുള്ളവരാകയാൽ വിശ്വാസവും സ്നേഹവും എന്ന കവചവും ശിരസ്ത്രമായി രക്ഷയുടെ പ്രത്യാശയും ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സുബോധമായിരിക്ക.

9 because God has not set us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

ദൈവം നമ്മെ കോപത്തിന്നല്ല,

10 who has died for us, that whether we may be watching or sleep, we may live together with him.

നാം ഉണൎന്നിരുന്നാലും ഉറങ്ങിയാലും തന്നോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കൎത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുമൂലം രക്ഷയെ പ്രാപിപ്പാനത്രേ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു.

11 Wherefore encourage one another, and build up each one the other, even as also ye do.

ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തുവരുന്നതുപോലെ അന്യോന്യം പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചും തമ്മിൽ ആത്മിക വൎദ്ധനവരുത്തിയും പോരുവിൻ.

12 But we beg you, brethren, to know those who labour among you, and take the lead among you in [the] Lord, and admonish you,

സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അദ്ധ്വാനിക്കയും കൎത്താവിൽ നിങ്ങളെ ഭരിക്കയും പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ അറിഞ്ഞു അവരുടെ വേലനിമിത്തം

13 and to regard them exceedingly in love on account of their work. Be in peace among yourselves.

ഏറ്റവും സ്നേഹത്തോടെ വിചാരിക്കേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. തമ്മിൽ സമാധാനമായിരിപ്പിൻ.

14 But we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, sustain the weak, be patient towards all.

സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു: ക്രമം കെട്ടവരെ ബുദ്ധിയുപദേശിപ്പിൻ; ഉൾക്കരുത്തില്ലാത്തവരെ ധൈൎയ്യപ്പെടുത്തുവിൻ; ബലഹീനരെ താങ്ങുവിൻ; എല്ലാവരോടും ദീൎഘക്ഷമ കാണിപ്പിൻ.

15 See that no one render to any evil for evil, but pursue always what is good towards one another and towards all;

ആരും തിന്മക്കു പകരം തിന്മ ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാൻ നോക്കുവിൻ; തമ്മിലും എല്ലാവരോടും എപ്പോഴും നന്മ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിപ്പിൻ;

16 rejoice always;

എപ്പോഴും സന്തോഷിപ്പിൻ;

17 pray unceasingly;

ഇടവിടാതെ പ്രാൎത്ഥിപ്പിൻ

18 in everything give thanks, for this is [the] will of God in Christ Jesus towards you;

എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്‌വിൻ; ഇതല്ലോ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ ദൈവേഷ്ടം.

19 quench not the Spirit;

ആത്മാവിനെ കെടുക്കരുതു.

20 do not lightly esteem prophecies;

പ്രവചനം തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു.

21 but prove all things, hold fast the right;

സകലവും ശോധന ചെയ്തു നല്ലതു മുറുകെ പിടിപ്പിൻ.

22 hold aloof from every form of wickedness.

സകലവിധദോഷവും വിട്ടകലുവിൻ.

23 Now the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly: and your whole spirit, and soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവം തന്നേ നിങ്ങളെ മുഴുവനും ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാവും പ്രാണനും ദേഹവും അശേഷം നമ്മുടെ കൎത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതയിൽ അനിന്ദ്യമായി വെളിപ്പെടുംവണ്ണം കാക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ.

24 He [is] faithful who calls you, who will also perform [it].

നിങ്ങളെ വിളിക്കുന്നവൻ വിശ്വസ്തൻ ആകുന്നു; അവൻ അതു നിവൎത്തിക്കും.

25 Brethren, pray for us.

സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാൎത്ഥിപ്പിൻ.

26 Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.

സകല സഹോദരന്മാരെയും വിശുദ്ധചുംബനത്താൽ വന്ദനം ചെയ്‌വിൻ.

27 I adjure you by the Lord that the letter be read to all the [holy] brethren.

കൎത്താവാണ, സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും ഈ ലേഖനം വായിച്ചു കേൾപ്പിക്കേണം.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you.

നമ്മുടെ കൎത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ കൃപ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.
