< 1 John 1 >

1 That which was from [the] beginning, that which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes; that which we contemplated, and our hands handled, concerning the word of life;
It is of what has existed from the beginning, of what we have listened to, of what we have seen with our own eyes, of what we have witnessed and touched with our own heads, it is concerning the Logos of Life that we are now writing.
2 (and the life has been manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and report to you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and has been manifested to us: ) (aiōnios g166)
And the Life was made visible, and we have seen it and are bearing witness, and are bringing you word of that Eternal Life which was face to face with the Father and was made visible to us. (aiōnios g166)
3 that which we have seen and heard we report to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship [is] indeed with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
It is what we have seen and heard that we are announcing to you, in order that you also may have partnership with us; and our partnership is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we to you that your joy may be full.
And we are writing all this to you that our joy may be complete.
5 And this is the message which we have heard from him, and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
This, then, is the message that we have heard from him, and are announcing to you, that God is light, and no darkness what ever is in him.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not practise the truth.
If we say, "We have partnership with Him," when we are passing our life in the darkness, we are lying and are not doing the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
But is we are passing our life in the light, as he is in the light, we ever have partnership with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ is cleansing us from every sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we say, "We have no sin," we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us [our] sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
But if we confess our sins, faithful is he and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all wrong-doing.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
If we say, "We have not sinned," we are making him a liar, and his word is not in us.
