Revelation 21
1 I saw the new heaven and the new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more.
Depois, vi um novo céu e uma nova terra surgirem. O primeiro céu e a primeira terra desapareceram, e o mar não existia mais.
2 And I, John, saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
Eu vi a cidade santa, a Nova Jerusalém, que descia do céu. Ela vinha da parte de Deus e estava preparada e enfeitada como uma noiva que fica bonita para o seu marido.
3 And I heard a great voice from the throne, saying: “Behold the tabernacle of God with men. And he will dwell with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be their God with them.
Eu ouvi uma voz bem alta, que vinha do trono, dizer: “Agora, a casa de Deus está com os homens, e ele irá viver com eles. Eles serão o povo de Deus. O próprio Deus estará com eles como o seu Deus.
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no more. And neither mourning, nor crying out, nor grief shall be anymore. For the first things have passed away.”
Ele enxugará as lágrimas de seus olhos e nunca mais haverá morte. Também não mais haverá tristeza, choro ou dor, pois o mundo antigo não existe mais.”
5 And the One who was sitting upon the throne, said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And he said to me, “Write, for these words are entirely faithful and true.”
Aquele que está sentado no trono disse: “Eu estou fazendo tudo novo!” Ele me disse: “Escreva isto, pois estas palavras são dignas de confiança e são verdadeiras.”
6 And he said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To those who thirst, I will give freely from the fountain of the water of life.
E, então, ele continuou a dizer: “Tudo está feito! Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, o Começo e o Fim. Para todos os que têm sede, eu darei água, de graça, da fonte da água da vida.
7 Whoever prevails shall possess these things. And I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Aqueles que forem vitoriosos herdarão todas essas coisas, e eu serei o seu Deus e eles serão os meus filhos.
8 But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all liars, these shall be a part of the pool burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.” (Limnē Pyr g3041 g4442)
Mas qualquer um que se mostre covarde, que não tenha fé em mim, que cometa atos repugnantes, que seja assassino, que seja imoral, que pratique feitiçaria, que adore ídolos, ou que minta, já tem o seu lugar designado. Ele será jogado no lago que queima com fogo e enxofre. Esta é a segunda morte.” (Limnē Pyr g3041 g4442)
9 And one of the seven Angels, those holding the bowls filled with the seven last afflictions, approached and spoke with me, saying: “Come, and I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
Um dos sete anjos com as sete taças que continham as sete últimas pragas veio e falou comigo. Ele me disse: “Venha comigo! Eu irei lhe mostrar a noiva, a esposa do Cordeiro.”
10 And he took me up in spirit to a great and high mountain. And he showed me the Holy City Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
E ele me levou, pelo Espírito, para cima de uma montanha muito alta. Lá, ele me mostrou a cidade santa, Jerusalém, que descia do céu, vinda da parte de Deus
11 having the glory of God. And its light was like that of a precious stone, even like that of the jasper stone or like crystal.
e que brilhava com a glória da presença de Deus. A luz da cidade brilhava como a de uma pedra preciosa, como uma pedra de jaspe, clara e brilhante.
12 And it had a wall, great and high, having twelve gates. And at the gates were twelve Angels. And names were written upon them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.
Os muros que a cercavam eram altos e sólidos, com doze portões guardados por doze anjos. Nos portões estavam escritos os nomes das doze tribos de Israel.
13 On the East were three gates, and on the North were three gates, and on the South were three gates, and on the West were three gates.
Havia três portões a leste, três ao norte, três ao sul e três a oeste.
14 And the wall of the City had twelve foundations. And upon them were the twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
A muralha da cidade tinha doze fundamentos e, em cada um deles, estava escrito o nome de um dos doze apóstolos do Cordeiro.
15 And he who was speaking with me was holding a golden measuring reed, in order to measure the City, and its gates and wall.
O anjo que conversava comigo segurava uma vara de ouro para medir a cidade, seus portões e seus muros.
16 And the city is laid out as a square, and so its length is as great as the width. And he measured the city with the golden reed for twelve thousand stadia, and its length and height and breadth were equal.
O formato da cidade era quadrado, pois o seu comprimento era semelhante a sua largura. Ele mediu a cidade com a vara, e viu que media aproximadamente dois mil e quatrocentos quilômetros. O comprimento, a largura e a altura eram semelhantes.
17 And he measured its wall as one hundred and forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, which is of an Angel.
Ele mediu a muralha, que tinha mais de sessenta metros de espessura, conforme as medidas humanas que o anjo estava usando.
18 And the structure of its wall was of jasper stone. Yet truly, the city itself was of pure gold, similar to pure glass.
Os muros eram feitos de jaspe. A cidade era feita de ouro puro e era clara como o vidro.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was of jasper, the second was of sapphire, the third was of chalcedony, the fourth was of emerald,
Os fundamentos da muralha da cidade eram decorados com todos os tipos de pedras preciosas. O primeiro fundamento era de jaspe; o segundo, de safira; o terceiro, de ágata; o quarto, de esmeralda;
20 the fifth was of sardonyx, the sixth was of sardius, the seventh was of chrysolite, the eighth was of beryl, the ninth was of topaz, the tenth was of chrysoprasus, the eleventh was of jacinth, the twelfth was of amethyst.
o quinto, de sardônica; o sexto, de sárdio; o sétimo, de crisólito; o oitavo, de berilo; o nono, de topázio; o décimo, de crisópraso; o décimo primeiro, de jacinto e o décimo segundo, de ametista.
21 And the twelve gates are twelve pearls, one for each, so that each gate was made from a single pearl. And the main street of the city was of pure gold, similar to transparent glass.
Os doze portões eram feitos de pérola, e cada um deles era feito de uma única pérola. A rua principal era feita de ouro puro, clara como o vidro.
22 And I saw no temple in it. For the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb.
Eu não vi um templo por lá, porque o Senhor Deus, o Todo-Poderoso, e o Cordeiro eram o templo da cidade.
23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine in it. For the glory of God has illuminated it, and the Lamb is its lamp.
A cidade não precisa do sol nem da lua para a iluminar, pois a glória de Deus dá toda a luz que ela precisa, e o Cordeiro é a sua lâmpada.
24 And the nations shall walk by its light. And the kings of the earth shall bring their glory and honor into it.
As nações irão andar pela sua luz, e os reis da terra trarão as suas riquezas para a cidade.
25 And its gates shall not be closed throughout the day, for there shall be no night in that place.
Seus portões nunca ficarão fechados durante o dia e nela não haverá noite.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
As nações trarão para a cidade os seus tributos e as suas riquezas.
27 There shall not enter into it anything defiled, nor anything causing an abomination, nor anything false, but only those who have been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb.
Nada que seja impuro entrará na cidade, assim como também ninguém que adore ídolos ou que minta. Apenas aqueles que têm os seus nomes escritos no Livro da Vida do Cordeiro poderão passar pelos seus portões.
