Revelation 10

1 And I saw another strong Angel, descending from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet were like columns of fire.

また私は、もうひとりの強い御使いが、雲に包まれて、天から降りて来るのを見た。その頭上には虹があって、その顔は太陽のようであり、その足は火の柱のようであった。

2 And he held in his hand a small open book. And he stationed his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot upon the land.

その手には開かれた小さな巻き物を持ち、右足は海の上に、左足は地の上に置き、

3 And he cried out with a great voice, in the manner of a lion roaring. And when he had cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices.

ししがほえるときのように大声で叫んだ。彼が叫んだとき、七つの雷がおのおの声を出した。

4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven, saying to me: “Seal the things that the seven thunders have spoken, and do not write them.”

七つの雷が語ったとき、私は書き留めようとした。すると、天から声があって、「七つの雷が言ったことは封じて、書きしるすな。」と言うのを聞いた。

5 And the Angel, whom I saw standing upon the sea and upon the land, lifted up his hand toward heaven.

それから、私の見た海と地との上に立つ御使いは、右手を天に上げて、

6 And he swore by the One who lives forever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that are in it; and the earth, and the things that are in it; and the sea, and the things that are in it: that the time will not be any longer, (aiōn g165)

永遠に生き、天とその中にあるもの、地とその中にあるもの、海とその中にあるものを創造された方をさして、誓った。「もはや時が延ばされることはない。 (aiōn g165)

7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh Angel, when he shall begin to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God will be completed, just as he has proclaimed in the Gospel, through his servants the Prophets.

第七の御使いが吹き鳴らそうとしているラッパの音が響くその日には、神の奥義は、神がご自身のしもべである預言者たちに告げられたとおりに成就する。」

8 And again, I heard a voice from heaven speaking with me and saying: “Go and receive the open book from the hand of the Angel who stands upon the sea and upon the land.”

それから、前に私が天から聞いた声が、また私に話しかけて言った。「さあ行って、海と地との上に立っている御使いの手にある、開かれた巻き物を受け取りなさい。」

9 And I went to the Angel, saying to him that he should give the book to me. And he said to me: “Receive the book and consume it. And it shall cause bitterness in your stomach, but in your mouth it shall be sweet like honey.”

それで、私は御使いのところに行って、「その小さな巻き物を下さい。」と言った。すると、彼は言った。「それを取って食べなさい。それはあなたの腹には苦いが、あなたの口には蜜のように甘い。」

10 And I received the book from the hand of the Angel, and I consumed it. And it was sweet like honey in my mouth. And when I had consumed it, my stomach was made bitter.

そこで、私は御使いの手からその小さな巻き物を取って食べた。すると、それは口には蜜のように甘かった。それを食べてしまうと、私の腹は苦くなった。

11 And he said to me, “It is necessary for you to prophesy again about many nations and peoples and languages and kings.”

そのとき、彼らは私に言った。「あなたは、もう一度、もろもろの民族、国民、国語、王たちについて預言しなければならない。」
