Psalms 95
1 The Praise of a Canticle, of David himself. Come, let us exult in the Lord. Let us shout joyfully to God, our Savior.
Venez, chantons à Yahvé. Crions à haute voix vers le rocher de notre salut!
2 Let us anticipate his presence with confession, and let us sing joyfully to him with psalms.
Approchons-nous de sa présence avec des actions de grâce. Louons-le en chansons!
3 For the Lord is a great God and a great King over all gods.
Car Yahvé est un grand Dieu, un grand Roi au-dessus de tous les dieux.
4 For in his hand are all the limits of the earth, and the heights of the mountains are his.
Les profondeurs de la terre sont dans sa main. Les hauteurs des montagnes sont aussi les siennes.
5 For the sea is his, and he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
La mer est à lui, il l'a faite. Ses mains ont formé la terre ferme.
6 Come, let us adore and fall prostrate, and let us weep before the Lord who made us.
Oh, venez, adorons et prosternons-nous. Agenouillons-nous devant Yahvé, notre créateur,
7 For he is the Lord our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.
car il est notre Dieu. Nous sommes le peuple de son pâturage, et les moutons qu'il garde. Aujourd'hui, oh, que vous entendiez sa voix!
8 If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts:
N'endurcissez pas votre cœur, comme à Meriba, comme le jour de Massah dans le désert,
9 as in the provocation, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness, where your fathers tempted me; they tested me, though they had seen my works.
quand vos pères me tentaient, m'a testé, et a vu mon travail.
10 For forty years, I was offended by that generation, and I said: These have always strayed in heart.
Pendant quarante longues années, j'ai été affligé par cette génération, et a dit: « C'est un peuple qui se trompe dans son cœur. Ils n'ont pas connu mes voies. »
11 And these have not known my ways. So I swore in my wrath: They shall not enter into my rest.
C'est pourquoi j'ai juré dans ma colère, « Ils n'entreront pas dans mon repos. »
