Psalms 89
1 The understanding of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing the mercies of the Lord in eternity. I will announce your truth with my mouth, from generation to generation.
As benignidades do Senhor cantarei perpetuamente: com a minha boca manifestarei a tua fidelidade de geração em geração.
2 For you have said: Mercy will be built in the heavens, unto eternity. Your truth will be prepared there.
Pois disse eu: A tua benignidade será edificada para sempre: tu confirmarás a tua fidelidade até nos céus, dizendo:
3 I have set up a covenant with my elect. I have sworn to David my servant:
Fiz um concerto com o meu escolhido: jurei ao meu servo David, dizendo:
4 I will prepare your offspring, even in eternity. And I will build up your throne, from generation to generation.
A tua semente estabelecerei para sempre, e edificarei o teu trono de geração em geração (Selah)
5 The heavens will confess your miracles, Lord, and also your truth, in the Church of the saints.
E os céus louvarão as tuas maravilhas, ó Senhor, a tua fidelidade também na congregação dos santos.
6 For who among the clouds is equal to the Lord? Who among the sons of God is like God?
Pois quem no céu se pode igualar ao Senhor? Quem entre os filhos dos poderosos pode ser semelhante ao Senhor?
7 God is glorified by the counsel of the saints. He is great and terrible above all those who are around him.
Deus é muito formidável na assembléia dos santos, e para ser reverenciado por todos os que o cercam.
8 O Lord, God of hosts, who is like you? You are powerful, Lord, and your truth is all around you.
Ó Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, quem é forte como tu, Senhor? pois a tua fidelidade está à roda de ti?
9 You rule over the power of the sea, and you even mitigate the movement of its waves.
Tu dominas o ímpeto do mar: quando as suas ondas se levantam, tu as fazes aquietar.
10 You have humbled the arrogant one, like one who has been wounded. You have scattered your enemies with the arm of your strength.
Tu quebrantaste a Rahab como se fôra ferida de morte; espalhaste os teus inimigos com o teu braço forte.
11 Yours are the heavens, and yours is the earth. You founded the whole world in all its fullness.
Teus são os céus, e tua é a terra; o mundo e a sua plenitude tu os fundaste.
12 You created the north and the sea. Tabor and Hermon will exult in your name.
O norte e o sul tu os criaste; Tabor e Hermon jubilam em teu nome.
13 Your arm acts with power. Let your hand be strengthened, and let your right hand be exalted.
Tu tens um braço poderoso; forte é a tua mão, e alta está a tua dextra.
14 Justice and judgment are the preparation of your throne. Mercy and truth will precede your face.
Justiça e juízo são o assento do teu trono, misericórdia e verdade irão adiante do teu rosto.
15 Blessed is the people that knows jubilation. They will walk in the light of your countenance, O Lord,
Bem-aventurado o povo que conhece o som alegre: andará, ó Senhor, na luz da tua face.
16 and they will exult in your name all day long, and they will be exalted in your justice.
Em teu nome se alegrará todo o dia, e na tua justiça se exaltará.
17 For you are the glory of their virtue, and in your goodness, our horn will be exalted.
Pois tu és a glória da sua força; e no teu favor será exaltado o nosso poder.
18 For our assumption is of the Lord, and it is of our king, the holy one of Israel.
Porque o Senhor é a nossa defesa, e o Santo de Israel o nosso Rei.
19 Then you spoke in a vision to your holy ones, and you said: I have stationed help with the powerful one, and I have exalted the elect one from my people.
Então falaste em visão ao teu santo, e disseste: pus o socorro sobre um que é poderoso: exaltei a um eleito do povo.
20 I have found my servant David. I have anointed him with my holy oil.
Achei a David, meu servo; com santo óleo o ungi:
21 For my hand will assist him, and my arm will fortify him.
Com o qual a minha mão ficará firme, e o meu braço o fortalecerá.
22 The enemy will have no advantage over him, nor will the son of iniquity be positioned to harm him.
O inimigo não apertará com ele, nem o filho da perversidade o afligirá.
23 And I will cut down his enemies before his face. And those who hate him, I will turn to flight.
E eu derribarei os seus inimigos perante a sua face, e ferirei aos que o aborrecem.
24 And my truth and my mercy will be with him. And his horn will be exalted in my name.
E a minha fidelidade e a minha benignidade estarão com ele; e em meu nome será exaltado o seu poder.
25 And I will place his hand on the sea and his right hand on the rivers.
Porei também a sua mão no mar, e a sua direita nos rios.
26 He will invoke me: “You are my father, my God, and the support of my salvation.”
Ele me chamará, dizendo: Tu és meu Pai, meu Deus, e a rocha da minha salvação.
27 And I will make him the first-born, preeminent before the kings of the earth.
Também o farei meu primogênito, mais elevado do que os reis da terra.
28 I will preserve my mercy for him eternally, and my covenant for him faithfully.
A minha benignidade lhe conservarei eu para sempre, e o meu concerto lhe será firme.
29 And I will set his offspring from generation to generation, and his throne like the days of heaven.
E conservarei para sempre a sua semente, e o seu trono como os dias do céu.
30 But if his sons abandon my law, and if they do not walk in my judgments,
Se os seus filhos deixarem a minha lei, e não andarem nos meus juízos,
31 if they profane my justices, and if they do not keep my commandments:
Se profanarem os meus preceitos, e não guardarem os meus mandamentos,
32 I will visit their iniquities with a rod, and their sins with a beating.
Então visitarei a sua transgressão com a vara, e a sua iniquidade com açoites.
33 But I will not scatter my mercy from him, and I will not do harm to my truth.
Porém não retirarei totalmente dele a minha benignidade, nem faltarei à minha fidelidade.
34 And I will not profane my covenant, and I will not make void that which proceeds from my lips.
Não quebrarei o meu concerto, não alterarei o que saiu dos meus lábios.
35 I have sworn by my holiness one time: I will not lie to David,
Uma vez jurei pela minha santidade que não mentirei a David.
36 his offspring will remain for eternity. And his throne will be like the sun in my sight,
A sua semente durará para sempre, e o seu trono, como o sol diante de mim,
37 and, like the moon, it is perfected in eternity, and it is a faithful witness in heaven.
Será estabelecido para sempre como a lua, e como uma testemunha fiel no céu (Selah)
38 Yet, truly, you have rejected and despised, you have pushed away, my Christ.
Porém tu rejeitaste e aborreceste; tu te indignaste contra o teu ungido.
39 You have overthrown the covenant of your servant. You have profaned his sanctuary on earth.
Abominaste o concerto do teu servo: profanaste a sua coroa, lançando-a por terra.
40 You have destroyed all his fences. You have made his territory dreadful.
Derrubaste todos os seus valados; arruinaste as suas fortificações.
41 All who pass by the way have plundered him. He has become a disgrace to his neighbors.
Todos os que passam pelo caminho o despojam; é um opróbrio para os seus vizinhos.
42 You have exalted the right hand of those who oppress him. You have brought joy to all his enemies.
Exaltaste a dextra dos seus adversários; fizeste com que todos os seus inimigos se regozijassem.
43 You have diverted the help of his sword, and you have not assisted him in battle.
Também embotaste os fios da sua espada, e não o sustentaste na peleja.
44 You have torn him away from cleansing, and you have smashed his throne down to the ground.
Fizeste cessar a sua glória, e deitaste por terra o seu trono.
45 You have reduced the days of his time. You have flooded him with confusion.
Abreviaste os dias da sua mocidade; cobriste-o de vergonha (Selah)
46 How long, O Lord? Will you turn away unto the end? Will your wrath flare up like a fire?
Até quando, Senhor? Acaso te esconderás para sempre? arderá a tua ira como fogo?
47 Remember what my substance is. For could you really have appointed all the sons of men in vain?
Lembra-te de quão breves são os meus dias; pelo que debalde criaste todos os filhos dos homens.
48 Who is the man that will live, and yet not see death? Who will rescue his own soul from the hand of the underworld? (Sheol h7585)
Que homem há, que viva, e não veja a morte? Livrará ele a sua alma do poder da sepultura? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 O Lord, where are your mercies of antiquity, just as you swore to David in your truth?
Senhor, onde estão as tuas antigas benignidades, que juraste a David pela tua verdade?
50 Be mindful, O Lord, of the disgrace of your servants (which I have sustained in my sinews) among many nations.
Lembra-te, Senhor, do opróbrio dos teus servos; como eu trago no meu peito o opróbrio de todos os povos poderosos:
51 With these, your enemies have reproached you, O Lord; with these, they have reproached the commutation of your Christ.
Com o qual, Senhor, os teus inimigos tem difamado, com o qual tem difamado as pisadas do teu ungido.
52 Blessed is the Lord for all eternity. Amen. Amen.
Bendito seja o Senhor para sempre. amém, e amém.
