Psalms 77

1 Unto the end. For Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. I cried out to the Lord with my voice, to God with my voice, and he attended to me.

Dem Sangmeister. Auf Jeduthun. Von Asaph, ein Psalm. Meine Stimme ist zu Gott und ich schreie; meine Stimme ist zu Gott und Er nimmt mir es zu Ohren.

2 In the days of my tribulation, I sought God, with my hands opposite him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be consoled.

Am Tage meiner Drangsal suche ich Dich, Herr, des Nachts reckt meine Hand sich aus und läßt nicht nach; meine Seele weigert sich des Trostes.

3 I was mindful of God, and I was delighted, and I was distressed, and my spirit fell away.

Ich gedenke Gottes, und bin beunruhigt, ich überdenke es, und mein Geist verzagt. (Selah)

4 My eyes anticipated the vigils. I was disturbed, and I did not speak.

Du hältst wach meine Augen, ich bin erschüttert und kann nicht reden.

5 I considered the days of antiquity, and I held the years of eternity in my mind.

Ich denke der Vorzeit Tage, der Jahre der Zeitalter.

6 And I meditated in the night with my heart, and I was distressed, and I examined my spirit.

Ich gedenke an mein Saitenspiel bei Nacht, in meinem Herzen überdenke ich es, und es forscht mein Geist.

7 So then, will God reject for eternity? Will he not continue to allow himself to show favor?

Wird der Herr in die Ewigkeiten verwerfen? und nicht wieder Wohlgefallen haben.

8 Or, will he cut off his mercy in the end, from generation to generation?

Hat denn für immerfort Seine Barmherzigkeit ein Ende? Ist es gar aus mit der Rede von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht?

9 And would God ever forget to be merciful? Or, would he, in his wrath, restrict his mercies?

Hat Gott vergessen Seine Gnaden, im Zorn verschlossen Seine Erbarmungen? (Selah)

10 And I said, “Now I have begun. This change is from the right hand of the Most High.”

Ich aber sprach: Dies ist mein Flehen. Ändern kann es des Allerhöchsten Rechte.

11 I was mindful of the works of the Lord. For I will be mindful from the beginning of your wonders,

Der Taten Jahs gedenke ich, denn ich gedenke Deiner Wunder in der Vorzeit.

12 and I will meditate on all your works. And I will take part in your intentions.

Und ich sinne über all Dein Werk und überdenke Deine Taten.

13 Your way, O God, is in what is holy. Which God is great like our God?

Gott, in Heiligkeit ist Dein Weg! Wer ist ein Gott so groß wie Gott?

14 You are the God who performs miracles. You have made your virtue known among the peoples.

Du, Gott, tust Wunder, hast Deine Stärke unter den Völkern kundgetan;

15 With your arm, you have redeemed your people, the sons of Jacob and of Joseph.

Mit dem Arm hast Du Dein Volk erlöst, die Söhne Jakobs und Josephs. (Selah)

16 The waters saw you, O God, the waters saw you, and they were afraid, and the depths were stirred up.

Die Wasser sahen Dich, o Gott, die Wasser sahen Dich und kreißten, ja die Abgründe zitterten.

17 Great was the sound of the waters. The clouds uttered a voice. For your arrows also pass by.

Die dichten Wolken strömten Wasser, die Ätherkreise gaben Stimme, auch fuhren dahin Deine Pfeile.

18 The voice of your thunder is like a wheel. Your flashes have illuminated the whole world. The earth has quaked and trembled.

Die Stimme Deines Donners war im Wirbelwind, Blitze erleuchteten die Welt, es zitterte und bebte die Erde.

19 Your way is through the sea, and your paths are through many waters. And your traces will not be known.

Im Meere war Dein Weg, durch viele Wasser Deine Fußpfade, und Deine Fußstapfen wurden nicht erkannt!

20 You have conducted your people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Du führtest Dein Volk wie eine Herde, durch die Hand Moses und Aharons.
