Psalms 7
1 A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Cush, the son of Jemini. O Lord, my God, in you I have hoped. Save me from all those who persecute me, and free me:
Éternel, mon Dieu, je me retire vers toi; sauve-moi de tous ceux qui me poursuivent, et délivre-moi!
2 lest at any time, like a lion, he might seize my soul, while there is no one to redeem me, nor any who can save.
De peur qu'ils ne me déchirent comme un lion, et ne me mettent en pièces sans que personne me délivre.
3 O Lord, my God, if there is iniquity in my hands, if I have done this:
Éternel, mon Dieu, si j'ai fait cela, s'il y a de l'iniquité dans mes mains;
4 if I have repaid those who rendered evils to me, may I deservedly fall away empty before my enemies:
Si j'ai rendu le mal à celui qui était en paix avec moi, et si j'ai dépouillé celui qui m'opprimait sans cause;
5 let the enemy pursue my soul, and take hold of it, and trample my life into the earth, and drag down my glory into the dust. (Pause)
Que l'ennemi me poursuive et qu'il m'atteigne; qu'il foule à terre ma vie et couche ma gloire dans la poussière! (Sélah, pause)
6 Rise up, Lord, in your anger. And be exalted to the borders of my enemies. And rise up, O Lord my God, according to the precept that you commanded,
Lève-toi, Éternel, dans ta colère! Élève-toi contre les fureurs de mes ennemis; réveille-toi, viens à moi; accomplis le jugement que tu as ordonné.
7 and a congregation of people will surround you. And, because of this, return on high.
Que l'assemblée des peuples t'environne; remonte au-dessus d'elle vers les lieux élevés!
8 The Lord judges the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice and according to my innocence within me.
L'Éternel juge les peuples. Juge-moi, Éternel, selon ma justice, selon l'intégrité qui est en moi.
9 The wickedness of sinners will be consumed, and you will direct the just: the examiner of hearts and temperaments is God.
Que la malice des méchants prenne fin, et affermis le juste, toi qui sondes les cœurs et les reins, ô Dieu juste!
10 Just is my help from the Lord, who saves the upright of heart.
Dieu est mon bouclier; il délivre ceux qui ont le cœur droit.
11 God is a just judge, strong and patient. How could he be angry throughout every day?
Dieu est un juste juge, un Dieu qui s'indigne en tout temps.
12 Unless you will be converted, he will brandish his sword. He has extended his bow and made it ready.
Si le méchant ne se convertit, Dieu affile son épée; il a bandé son arc, et il l'ajuste.
13 And with it, he has prepared instruments of death. He has produced his arrows for those on fire.
Il prépare contre lui des armes mortelles, il apprête des flèches ardentes.
14 Behold him who has given birth to injustice: he has conceived sorrow and has begotten iniquity.
Voici, le méchant est en travail pour enfanter le mal; il a conçu le crime, mais il n'enfante que mensonge.
15 He has opened a pit and enlarged it. And he has fallen into the hole that he made.
Il a creusé un trou profond; mais il tombera dans la fosse qu'il a faite.
16 His sorrow will be turned upon his own head, and his iniquity will descend upon his highest point.
Sa malice retournera sur sa tête, sa violence retombera sur son front.
17 I will confess to the Lord according to his justice, and I will sing a psalm to the name of the Lord Most High.
Je célébrerai l'Éternel à cause de sa justice; je chanterai le nom de l'Éternel, le Très-Haut.
