< Psalms 63 >

1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the desert of Idumea. O God, my God: to you, I keep vigil until first light. For you, my soul has thirsted, to you my body, in so many ways.
Ko e Saame ʻa Tevita, ʻi heʻene ʻi he toafa ʻo Siuta. ‌ʻE ʻOtua, ko hoku ʻOtua koe; te u kumi vave kiate koe: ʻoku fieinu hoku laumālie kiate koe, ʻoku holi hoku kakano kiate koe ʻi he fonua mōmoa mo fieinua, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ha vai ʻi ai;
2 By a deserted land, both inaccessible and waterless, so I have appeared in the sanctuary before you, in order to behold your virtue and your glory.
Ke mamata ki hoʻo māfimafi mo ho nāunau, ʻo hangē ko ʻeku mamata ai kiate koe ʻi he faletapu.
3 For your mercy is better than life itself. It is you my lips will praise.
‌ʻOku lelei lahi hake ʻa hoʻo ʻaloʻofa ʻi he moʻui, ko ia ʻe fakafetaʻi ai ʻa hoku loungutu kiate koe.
4 So will I bless you in my life, and I will lift up my hands in your name.
Ko ia ʻe pehē pe ʻeku fakafetaʻi kiate koe lolotonga ʻeku moʻui: te u hiki hake hoku nima ʻi ho huafa.
5 Let my soul be filled, as if with marrow and fatness; and my mouth will give praise with exultant lips.
‌ʻE mākona lelei hoku laumālie ʻo hangē ko e meʻa ʻi he ngako mo e meʻa momona; pea ʻe fakafetaʻi kiate koe ʻa hoku ngutu ʻi he loungutu fiefia.
6 When I have remembered you on my bed in the morning, I will meditate on you.
‌ʻI heʻeku manatu kiate koe ʻi hoku mohenga, ʻo fakalaulauloto kiate koe ʻi he ngaahi lakanga leʻo ʻi he poʻuli.
7 For you have been my helper. And I will exult under the cover of your wings.
Ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻo faʻa tokoni au, ko ia te u fiefia ai ʻi he malu ʻo ho kapakau.
8 My soul has clung close to you. Your right hand has supported me.
‌ʻOku pikitai maʻu pē hoku laumālie kiate koe: ʻoku poupou au ʻe ho nima toʻomataʻu.
9 Truly, these ones have sought my soul in vain. They will enter into the lower parts of the earth.
Ka ko kinautolu ʻoku kumi hoku laumālie ke fakaʻauha ia, tenau ʻalu hifo ki he ngaahi potu ʻi lalo ʻi he fonua.
10 They will be delivered into the hand of the sword. They will be the portions of foxes.
Tenau tō ʻi he heletā: tenau hoko ko e ʻinasi ʻoe fanga fokisi.
11 Truly, the king will rejoice in God: all those who swear by him will be praised, because the mouth of those who speak iniquity has been blocked.
Ka ʻe fiefia ʻae tuʻi ʻi he ʻOtua; ko ia kotoa pē ʻoku fuakava ʻiate ia ʻe fiefia ia; ka ʻe tāpuni ʻae ngutu ʻokinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku lea loi.
