Psalms 27

1 A Psalm of David, before he was sealed. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?

Par David. Yahvé est ma lumière et mon salut. Qui dois-je craindre? Yahvé est la force de ma vie. De qui dois-je avoir peur?

2 Meanwhile, the guilty draw near to me, so as to eat my flesh. Those who trouble me, my enemies, have themselves been weakened and have fallen.

Quand des malfaiteurs se sont approchés de moi pour dévorer ma chair, même mes adversaires et mes ennemis, ils ont trébuché et sont tombés.

3 If entrenched armies were to stand together against me, my heart would not fear. If a battle were to rise up against me, I would have hope in this.

Quand une armée camperait contre moi, mon cœur n'aura pas peur. Même si une guerre devait s'élever contre moi, même alors je serai confiant.

4 One thing I have asked of the Lord, this I will seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, so that I may behold the delight of the Lord, and may visit his temple.

Il y a une chose que j'ai demandée à l'Éternel, que je vais rechercher: pour que je puisse habiter dans la maison de Yahvé tous les jours de ma vie, pour voir la beauté de Yahvé, et d'enquêter dans son temple.

5 For he has hidden me in his tabernacle. In the day of evils, he has protected me in the hidden place of his tabernacle.

Car au jour de la détresse, il me gardera secrètement dans son pavillon. Dans le lieu secret de son tabernacle, il me cachera. Il me soulèvera sur un rocher.

6 He has exalted me upon the rock, and now he has exalted my head above my enemies. I have circled around and offered a sacrifice of loud exclamation in his tabernacle. I will sing, and I will compose a psalm, to the Lord.

Maintenant, ma tête s'élèvera au-dessus de mes ennemis qui m'entourent. J'offrirai des sacrifices de joie dans sa tente. Je chanterai, oui, je chanterai les louanges de Yahvé.

7 Hear my voice, O Lord, with which I have cried out to you. Have mercy on me, and hear me.

Écoute, Yahvé, quand je crie de ma voix. Ayez aussi pitié de moi, et répondez-moi.

8 My heart has spoken to you; my face has sought you. I yearn for your face, O Lord.

Quand tu as dit: « Cherchez ma face ». mon cœur t'a dit: « Je chercherai ta face, Yahvé. »

9 Do not turn your face away from me. In your wrath, do not turn aside from your servant. Be my helper. Do not abandon me, and do not despise me, O God, my Savior.

Ne me cache pas ton visage. N'écartez pas votre serviteur par colère. Vous avez été mon aide. Ne m'abandonne pas, ni ne m'abandonne, Dieu de mon salut.

10 For my father and my mother have left me behind, but the Lord has taken me up.

Quand mon père et ma mère m'abandonnent, alors Yahvé me reprendra.

11 O Lord, establish a law for me in your way, and direct me in the right path, because of my enemies.

Enseigne-moi ta voie, Yahvé. Conduis-moi dans un chemin droit, à cause de mes ennemis.

12 Do not surrender me to the souls of those who trouble me. For unjust witnesses have risen up against me, and iniquity has lied to itself.

Ne me livre pas au désir de mes adversaires, car de faux témoins se sont élevés contre moi, comme respirer la cruauté.

13 I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.

J'en suis toujours convaincu: Je verrai la bonté de Yahvé dans le pays des vivants.

14 Wait for the Lord, act manfully; and let your heart be strengthened, and remain with the Lord.

Attendez Yahvé. Soyez fort, et laissez votre cœur prendre courage. Oui, attendez Yahvé.
