Psalms 126

1 A Canticle in steps. When the Lord turned back the captivity of Zion, we became like those who are consoled.

Cantique des montées. Quand Yahweh ramena les captifs de Sion, ce fut pour nous comme un songe.

2 Then our mouth was filled with gladness and our tongue with exultation. Then they will say among the nations: “The Lord has done great things for them.”

Alors notre bouche fit entendre des cris joyeux, notre langue, des chants d’allégresse. Alors on répéta parmi les nations: « Yahweh a fait pour eux de grandes choses. »

3 The Lord has done great things for us. We have become joyful.

Oui, Yahweh a fait pour nous de grandes choses; nous sommes dans la joie.

4 Convert our captivity, O Lord, like a torrent in the south.

Yahweh, ramène nos captifs, comme tu fais couler les torrents dans le Négéb.

5 Those who sow in tears shall reap in exultation.

Ceux qui sèment dans les larmes, moissonneront dans l’allégresse.

6 When departing, they went forth and wept, sowing their seeds. But when returning, they will arrive with exultation, carrying their sheaves.

Ils vont, ils vont en pleurant, portant et jetant la semence; ils reviendront avec des cris de joie, portant les gerbes de leur moisson.
