Psalms 124

1 A Canticle in steps. If the Lord had not been with us, let Israel now say it:

യിസ്രായേൽ പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ പക്ഷത്തില്ലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ,

2 if the Lord had not been with us, when men rose up against us,

മനുഷ്യർ നമ്മോടു എതിൎത്തപ്പോൾ, യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ പക്ഷത്തില്ലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ,

3 perhaps they would have swallowed us alive. When their fury was enraged against us,

അവരുടെ കോപം നമ്മുടെനേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചപ്പോൾ, അവർ നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയുമായിരുന്നു;

4 perhaps the waters would have engulfed us.

വെള്ളം നമ്മെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുമായിരുന്നു, നദി നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണന്നു മീതെ കവിയുമായിരുന്നു;

5 Our soul has passed through a torrent. Perhaps, our soul had even passed through intolerable water.

പൊങ്ങിയിരുന്ന വെള്ളം നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണന്നു മീതെ കവിയുമായിരുന്നു.

6 Blessed is the Lord, who has not given us into the harm of their teeth.

നമ്മെ അവരുടെ പല്ലിന്നു ഇരയായി കൊടുക്കായ്കയാൽ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ.

7 Our soul has been snatched away like a sparrow from the snare of the hunters. The snare has been broken, and we have been freed.

വേട്ടക്കാരുടെ കണിയിൽനിന്നു പക്ഷിയെന്നപോലെ നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണൻ വഴുതിപ്പോന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; കണി പൊട്ടി നാം വഴുതിപ്പോന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

നമ്മുടെ സഹായം ആകാശത്തെയും ഭൂമിയെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
