Psalms 118

1 Alleluia. Confess to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy is forever.

Louvai ao Senhor, porque ele é bom, porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

2 Let Israel now say: For he is good, for his mercy is forever.

Diga agora Israel que a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

3 Let the house of Aaron now say: For his mercy is forever.

Diga agora a casa de Aarão que a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

4 Let those who fear the Lord now say: For his mercy is forever.

Digam agora os que temem ao Senhor que a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

5 In my tribulation, I called upon the Lord. And the Lord heeded me with generosity.

Invoquei o Senhor na angústia; o Senhor me ouviu, e me tirou para um lugar largo.

6 The Lord is my helper. I will not fear what man can do to me.

O Senhor está comigo: não temerei o que me pode fazer o homem.

7 The Lord is my helper. And I will look down upon my enemies.

O Senhor está comigo com aqueles que me ajudam; pelo que verei cumprido o meu desejo sobre os que me aborrecem.

8 It is good to trust in the Lord, rather than to trust in man.

É melhor confiar no Senhor do que confiar no homem.

9 It is good to hope in the Lord, rather than to hope in leaders.

É melhor confiar no Senhor do que confiar nos príncipes.

10 All the nations have surrounded me. And, in the name of the Lord, I have been avenged over them.

Todas as nações me cercaram, mas no nome do Senhor as despedaçarei.

11 Surrounding me, they closed in on me. And, in the name of the Lord, I have been avenged over them.

Cercaram-me, e tornaram a cercar-me; mas no nome do Senhor eu as despedaçarei.

12 They surrounded me like a swarm, and they burned like fire among the thorns. And, in the name of the Lord, I have been avenged over them.

Cercaram-me como abelhas: porém apagaram-se como o fogo de espinhos; pois no nome do Senhor os despedaçarei.

13 Having been pushed, I was overturned so as to fall. But the Lord took me up.

Com força me impeliste para me fazeres cair, porém o Senhor me ajudou.

14 The Lord is my strength and my praise. And he has become my salvation.

O Senhor é a minha força e o meu cântico; e se fez a minha salvação.

15 A voice of exultation and salvation is in the tabernacles of the just.

Nas tendas dos justos há voz de júbilo e de salvação: a dextra do Senhor faz proezas.

16 The right hand of the Lord has wrought virtue. The right hand of the Lord has exalted me. The right hand of the Lord has wrought virtue.

A dextra do Senhor se exalta: a dextra do Senhor faz proezas.

17 I will not die, but I will live. And I will declare the works of the Lord.

Não morrerei, mas viverei; e contarei as obras do Senhor.

18 When chastising, the Lord chastised me. But he has not delivered me over to death.

O Senhor me castigou muito, mas não me entregou à morte.

19 Open the gates of justice to me. I will enter them, and I will confess to the Lord.

Abri-me as portas da justiça: entrarei por elas, e louvarei ao Senhor.

20 This is the gate of the Lord. The just will enter by it.

Esta é a porta do Senhor, pela qual os justos entrarão.

21 I will confess to you because you have heard me. And you have become my salvation.

Louvar-te-ei, pois me escutaste, e te fizeste a minha salvação.

22 The stone which the builders have rejected, this has become the head of the corner.

A Pedra que os edificadores rejeitaram se tornou a cabeça da esquina.

23 By the Lord has this been done, and it is a wonder before our eyes.

Da parte do Senhor se fez isto; maravilhoso é aos nossos olhos.

24 This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us exult and rejoice in it.

Este é o dia que fez o Senhor: regozijemo-nos, e alegremo-nos nele.

25 O Lord, grant salvation to me. O Lord, grant good prosperity.

Salva-nos, agora, te pedimos, ó Senhor, ó Senhor, te pedimos, prospera-nos.

26 Blessed is he who arrives in the name of the Lord. We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.

Bendito aquele que vem em nome do Senhor: nós vos bendizemos desde a casa do Senhor.

27 The Lord is God, and he has enlightened us. Establish a solemn day amid a dense crowd, even to the horn of the altar.

Deus é o Senhor que nos mostrou a luz: atai a vítima da festa com cordas, até aos cornos do altar.

28 You are my God, and I will confess to you. You are my God, and I will exalt you. I will confess to you, for you have heeded me. And you have become my salvation.

Tu és o meu Deus, e eu te louvarei; tu és o meu Deus, e eu te exaltarei.

29 Confess to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy is forever.

Louvai ao Senhor, porque ele é bom; porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre.
