< Numbers 31 >

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
Olúwa sọ fún Mose pé,
2 “First, avenge the sons of Israel from the Midianites, and then you shall be gathered to your people.”
“Gbẹ̀san lára àwọn Midiani fún àwọn ọmọ Israẹli. Lẹ́yìn ìgbà náà a ó kó ọ jọ pẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn rẹ.”
3 And immediately Moses said: “Arm the men among you for a battle, so that they may be able to fulfill the retribution of the Lord on the Midianites.
Mose sì sọ fún àwọn ènìyàn pé, “Ẹ wọ ogun fún àwọn kan nínú yín láti lọ da ojú ìjà kọ àwọn ọmọ Midiani láti gba ẹ̀san Olúwa lára wọn.
4 Let one thousand men be chosen from each tribe of Israel, who shall be sent to war.”
Rán ẹgbẹ̀rún ọmọ-ogun láti ẹ̀yà kọ̀ọ̀kan ní Israẹli.”
5 And they gave one thousand from each tribe, that is, twelve thousand foot soldiers for battle.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n sì yan nínú àwọn ẹgbẹẹgbẹ̀rún ènìyàn Israẹli, ẹgbẹ̀rún ènìyàn láti inú ẹ̀yà kọ̀ọ̀kan, ẹgbàá mẹ́fà ènìyàn tí ó wọ ìhámọ́ra ogun.
6 And Moses sent them with Phinehas, the son of Eleazar the priest; also, he delivered to him the holy vessels, and the trumpets to sound.
Mose rán wọn lọ sí ogun, ẹgbẹ̀rún láti ẹ̀yà kọ̀ọ̀kan pẹ̀lú Finehasi ọmọ Eleasari, ti ó jẹ́ àlùfáà, ti òun ti ohun èlò ibi mímọ́ àti ìpè wọ̀n-ọn-nì ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀.
7 And when they had fought against the Midianites and had prevailed, they killed all the men.
Wọ́n dojú ìjà kọ Midiani gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún Mose, kí wọn sì pa gbogbo wọn.
8 And they put to death by the sword their kings: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the five leaders of the nation, and also Balaam the son of Beor.
Wọ́n sì pa àwọn ọba Midiani pẹ̀lú: àwọn ìyókù tí wọ́n pa lára wọn ni Efi, Rekemu, Suri àti Huri, àti Reba: ọba Midiani márùn-ún, wọ́n sì fi idà pa Balaamu ọmọ Beori.
9 And they seized their women and little ones, and all their cattle, and all their goods; whatever they were able to have, they despoiled.
Àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sì mú gbogbo obìnrin Midiani ní ìgbèkùn àti àwọn ọmọ kékeré wọn, wọ́n sì kó gbogbo ohun ọ̀sìn wọn àti gbogbo agbo ẹran wọn àti gbogbo ẹrù wọn.
10 Both their cities and their villages, as well as their fortresses, they burned.
Wọ́n finá jó gbogbo ìlú wọn àti ibùdó wọn.
11 And they carried away prey from everything that they had seized, both of men and of beasts.
Wọ́n sì kó gbogbo ìní wọn, àti ènìyàn àti ẹran.
12 And they led these to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to all the multitude of the sons of Israel. But the remainder of the articles they carried to the camp on the plains of Moab, next to the Jordan, opposite Jericho.
Wọ́n sì kó gbogbo ohun tí wọ́n bàjẹ́ àti ènìyàn àti ẹran wá sọ́dọ̀ Mose àti Eleasari àlùfáà, àti sọ́dọ̀ ìjọ àwọn ọmọ Israẹli ní ibùdó àgọ́ ní pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ Moabu tí ń bẹ lẹ́gbẹ̀ẹ́ Jordani létí Jeriko.
13 Then Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the assembly went out to meet them beyond the camp.
Mose, Eleasari àlùfáà àti gbogbo olórí ìgbèríko lọ láti lọ bá wọn ní ìta ibùdó.
14 And Moses, being angry with the leaders of the army, and the tribunes, and the centurions, who had arrived from the battle,
Inú bí Mose sí àwọn olórí ọmọ-ogun, pẹ̀lú àwọn olórí ẹgbẹẹgbẹ̀rún àti olórí ọ̀rọ̀ọ̀rún tí wọ́n ti ogun dé.
15 said: “Why have you spared the females?
Mose sì béèrè wí pé, “Ẹ̀yin ha dá gbogbo àwọn obìnrin sí bí?
16 Are not these the ones who deceived the sons of Israel at the suggestion of Balaam, and who caused you betray the Lord by the sin of Peor, because of which the people also were struck down?
Àwọn ni wọ́n tẹ̀lé ìmọ̀ràn Balaamu, àwọn ní ó ṣe okùnfà yíyí àwọn ọ̀mọ̀ Israẹli padà kúrò ní ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa nínú èyí tí ó ṣẹlẹ̀ ní Peori, níbi tí àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn ti kọlu ìjọ Olúwa.
17 Therefore, put to death all of them: whatever is of the male sex, even among the little ones, and cut the throats of those women who have known men by sexual relations.
Nísinsin yìí, pa gbogbo ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin àti àwọn obìnrin tí ó ti súnmọ́ ọkùnrin,
18 But the young girls, and all female virgins, reserve for yourselves.

19 And remain beyond the camp for seven days. Whoever has killed a man, or who has touched one that was killed, shall be purified on the third day and on the seventh day.
“Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá ti pa ènìyàn tàbí fọwọ́ kan ẹni tí a pa gbọdọ̀ dúró ní ìta ibùdó àgọ́ fún ọjọ́ méje. Ní ọjọ́ kẹta àti ọjọ́ keje ẹ gbọdọ̀ ya ara yín àti ẹni tí ẹ kó lẹ́rú sí mímọ́.
20 And all of the spoils, whether it is a garment, or a vessel, or another useful thing, made from the pelts or hair of goats, or from wood, shall be expiated.”

21 Likewise, Eleazar the priest spoke in this manner to the men of the army who had fought: “This is the precept of the law, which the Lord has commanded Moses:
Eleasari àlùfáà sì wí fún àwọn olórí ogun náà pé, “Èyí ní ìlànà òfin tí Olúwa fi lélẹ̀ ní àṣẹ fún Mose.
22 Gold, and silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin,
Kìkì i wúrà, fàdákà, idẹ, irin, idẹ àti òjé.
23 and all that may be able to pass through fire, shall be purified by fire. But whatever is not able to sustain fire shall be sanctified with the waters of expiation.
Ohunkóhun tí ó lè la iná ni kí ẹ̀yin ó mú la iná, nígbà náà ni yóò jẹ́ mímọ́. Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ yóò fi omi ìyàsímímọ́ sọ ọ́ di mímọ́. Àti gbogbo ohun tí kò lè la iná kọjá ni kí a mú la inú omi.
24 And you shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and, after having been purified, you shall enter the camp.”
Ní ọjọ́ keje, ẹ fọ aṣọ yín, ẹ̀yin yóò sì mọ́, nígbà náà ní ẹ̀yin yóò lè wọ inú ibùdó àjọ.”
25 And the Lord also said to Moses:
Olúwa sọ fún Mose pé,
26 “Take the sum of those things which were captured, from man even to beast, you and Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the common people.
“Ìwọ àti Eleasari àlùfáà àti àwọn olórí ilé baba ìjọ ni kí o ka iye àwọn ènìyàn àti ẹranko tí a kó ní ìgbèkùn.
27 And you shall divide the prey equally, among those who went out to war and fought, and among the remainder of the multitude.
Pín ohun ìní àti ìkógun náà láàrín àwọn ọmọ-ogun náà tí ó kópa nínú ogun náà àti láàrín gbogbo ìjọ.
28 And you shall separate a portion for the Lord from the portion of those who fought and were in the battle: one soul out of five hundred, as much from humans, as from oxen and donkeys and sheep.
Kí o sì gba ìdá ti Olúwa lọ́wọ́ àwọn ológun tí wọn jáde lọ sí ogun náà, ọ̀kan nínú ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀ta nínú àwọn ènìyàn àti nínú màlúù àti nínú kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́, àti nínú agbo ẹran.
29 And you shall give it to Eleazar the priest, because these are the first-fruits of the Lord.
Gba ìdá yìí lára ààbọ̀ ìpín tiwọn, kí o sì fún Eleasari àlùfáà, fún ẹbọ ìgbésókè Olúwa.
30 Likewise, from the half of the portion belonging to the sons of Israel, you shall receive the fiftieth head of humans, and of oxen, and donkeys, and sheep, and of all living things, and you shall give these to the Levites who stand watch over the care of the tabernacle of the Lord.”
Lára ààbọ̀ ti Israẹli, yan ọ̀kan kúrò nínú àádọ́ta, yálà ènìyàn, ẹran ọ̀sìn, kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́, àgùntàn, ewúrẹ́ tàbí ẹ̀yà ẹranko mìíràn. Kó wọn fún àwọn Lefi, tí ó dúró fún olùtọ́jú àgọ́ Olúwa.”
31 And Moses and Eleazar did just as the Lord had instructed.
Nígbà náà Mose àti Eleasari àlùfáà ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún Mose.
32 Now the prey which the army had seized was six hundred seventy-five thousand sheep,

36 And one half of the portion was given to those who had been in the battle: three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep.

37 From these, for the portion of the Lord, there were accounted: six hundred seventy-five sheep;
Tí ìdá ti Olúwa sì jẹ́ ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀rin ó dín mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dọ́gbọ̀n àgùntàn;

40 From the sixteen thousand human souls, there fell to the portion of the Lord thirty-two souls.
Àwọn ènìyàn sì jẹ́ ẹgbàá mẹ́jọ ìdá ti Olúwa sì jẹ́ méjìlélọ́gbọ̀n.
41 And Moses delivered the number of the first-fruits of the Lord to Eleazar the priest, just as had been commanded of him,

45 and from the thirty thousand five hundred donkeys,
tí kẹ́tẹ́kẹ́tẹ́ sì jẹ́ ẹgbàá mẹ́ẹ̀ẹ́dógún ó lé lẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀ta.
46 and from the sixteen thousand persons,
Àwọn ènìyàn sì jẹ́ ẹgbàá mẹ́jọ.
47 Moses took the fiftieth head, and gave it to the Levites who stand watch at the tabernacle of the Lord, just as the Lord had instructed.
Lára ààbọ̀ ti àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, Mose yan ọ̀kan lára àádọ́ta ènìyàn àti ẹranko gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pa á láṣẹ fún un. Ó sì fi wọ́n fún àwọn ọmọ Lefi, tí ń ṣe olùtọ́jú àgọ́ Olúwa.
48 And when the leaders of the army, and the tribunes, and the centurions had approached Moses, they said:
Pẹ̀lú àwọn olórí tí ó wà lórí ẹgbẹẹgbẹ̀rin ogun náà, àti àwọn balógun ọ̀rọ̀ọ̀rún wá sọ́dọ̀ Mose.
49 “We, your servants, have taken a census of the number of the fighting men, whom we had under our hand, and indeed not one was lacking.
Wọ́n sì sọ fún un pé, “Ìránṣẹ́ rẹ ti ka àwọn ọmọ-ogun náà tí ó wà lábẹ́ ìtọ́jú wa, kò sì sí ọ̀kọ̀ọ̀kan tó dín.
50 For this reason, we offer as gifts to the Lord whatever gold each one was able to find amid the spoils, in anklets and arm bands, rings and bracelets, and little chains, so that you may intercede for us to the Lord.”

51 And Moses and Eleazar the priest received all the gold in its various kinds,
