Matthew 19
1 And it happened that, when Jesus had completed these words, he moved away from Galilee, and he arrived within the borders of Judea, across the Jordan.
第四項 イエズスエルザレムへの最後の旅行 是等の談を畢りて、イエズス遂にガリレアを去り、ヨルダン[河]の向なるユデアの境に至り給ひしが、
2 And great crowds followed him, and he healed them there.
群衆夥しく之に從ひければ、其處にて彼等を醫し給へり。
3 And the Pharisees approached him, testing him, and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to separate from his wife, no matter what the cause?”
ファリザイ人近づきて、彼を試みて云ひけるは、如何なる理由の下にも、人は其妻を出すを得べきか。
4 And he said to them in response, “Have you not read that he who made man from the beginning, made them male and female?” And he said:
イエズス答へて曰ひけるは、汝等読まざりしか、即元始に人を造り給ひしもの、之を男女に造りて曰はく、
5 “For this reason, a man shall separate from father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife, and these two shall become one flesh.
「此故に、人は父母を離れて、其妻に就き兩人一體と成るべし」と、
6 And so, now they are not two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.”
然れば既に二人に非ずして一體なり、故に神の配せ給ひしもの、人之を分つべからず、と。
7 They said to him, “Then why did Moses command him to give a bill of divorce, and to separate?”
ファリザイ人云ひけるは、然らば離縁状を與へて妻を出すべし、とモイゼの命ぜしは何ぞや。
8 He said to them: “Although Moses permitted you to separate from your wives, due to the hardness of your heart, it was not that way from the beginning.
答へて曰ひけるは、モイゼは汝等の心の頑固なるが為に、妻を出す事を汝等に許したれど、元始より然はあらざりき。
9 And I say to you, that whoever will have separated from his wife, except because of fornication, and who will have married another, commits adultery, and whoever will have married her who has been separated, commits adultery.”
即我汝等に告ぐ、総て私通の故ならで其妻を出し、他の女を娶る人は姦淫するなり、又出されたる女を娶る人も姦淫するなり、と。
10 His disciples said to him, “If such is the case for a man with a wife, then it is not expedient to marry.”
弟子等イエズスに向ひ、若人の妻に於る事斯の如くば、娶らざるに若ず、と云ひしかば、
11 And he said to them: “Not everyone is able to grasp this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
イエズス曰ひけるは、人皆此言を肯容るるには非ず、[肯容るるは]賜はりたる者のみ。
12 For there are chaste persons who were born so from their mother’s womb, and there are chaste persons who have been made so by men, and there are chaste persons who have made themselves chaste for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Whoever is able to grasp this, let him grasp it.”
即母の胎内より生れながらの閹者あり、人より為られたる閹者あり、又天國の為に自ら作せる閹者あるなり。肯容るるを得る人は肯容るべし、と。
13 Then they brought to him little children, so that he would place his hands upon them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them.
時に按手して祈られんが為、孩兒等イエズスに差出されしが、弟子等之を拒みければ、
14 Yet truly, Jesus said to them: “Allow the little children to come to me, and do not choose to prohibit them. For the kingdom of heaven is among such as these.”
イエズス彼等に曰ひけるは、孩兒等を容せ、其我に來るを禁ずること勿れ、天國は斯の如き人の為なればなり、と。
15 And when he had imposed his hands upon them, he went away from there.
斯て彼等に按手し給ひ、さて此處を去り給へり。
16 And behold, someone approached and said to him, “Good Teacher, what good should I do, so that I may have eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
折しも一人[の青年]イエズスに近づきて云ひけるは、善き師よ、我永遠の生命を得んには、如何なる善き事をか為すべき。 (aiōnios g166)
17 And he said to him: “Why do you question me about what is good? One is good: God. But if you wish to enter into life, observe the commandments.”
イエズス曰ひけるは、何ぞ善を我に問ふや、善き者は獨のみ、即神なり。但汝若生命に入らんと欲せば掟を守れ、と。
18 He said to him, “Which?” And Jesus said: “You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony.
彼、何れ[の掟]ぞや、と云ひしにイエズス曰ひけるは、汝人を殺す勿れ、姦淫する勿れ、偸盗する勿れ、僞證する勿れ、
19 Honor your father and your mother. And, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
汝の父母を敬へ、又汝の近き者を己の如く愛せよ、と。
20 The young man said to him: “All these I have kept from my childhood. What is still lacking for me?”
青年云ひけるは、是皆我幼年より守りし所、猶我に缼けたるは何ぞや。
21 Jesus said to him: “If you are willing to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and then you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.”
イエズス曰ひけるは、汝若完全ならんと欲せば、往きて有てる物を売り、之を貧者に施せ、然らば天に於て寳を得ん、而して來りて我に從へ、と。
22 And when the young man had heard this word, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.
此言を聞くや青年憂ひて去れり、是多くの財産を有てる者なればなり。
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, I say to you, that the wealthy shall enter with difficulty into the kingdom of heaven.
イエズス弟子等に曰ひけるは、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、富者は天國に入り難し、
24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for the wealthy to enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
又汝等に告ぐ、駱駝が針の孔を通るは、富者の天國に入るよりも易し、と。
25 And upon hearing this, the disciples wondered greatly, saying: “Then who will be able to be saved?”
弟子等聞きて甚怪しみ、然らば誰か救はるるを得ん、と云ひければ、
26 But Jesus, gazing at them, said to them: “With men, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible.”
イエズス彼等を凝視めつつ曰ひけるは、是人に於ては能はざる所なれども、神に於ては何事も能はざる所なし、と。
27 Then Peter responded by saying to him: “Behold, we have left behind all things, and we have followed you. So then, what will be for us?”
其時ペトロ答へて云ひけるは、然て我等は一切を棄てて汝に從へり、然れば何を得べきぞ、と。
28 And Jesus said to them: “Amen I say to you, that at the resurrection, when the Son of man shall sit on the seat of his majesty, those of you who have followed me shall also sit on twelve seats, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
イエズス彼等に曰ひけるは、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、我に從ひたる汝等は、世革りて人の子其光榮の座に坐せん時、汝等も十二の座に坐して、イスラエルの十二族を審くべし。
29 And anyone who has left behind home, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for the sake of my name, shall receive one hundred times more, and shall possess eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
又総て我名の為に、或は家、或は兄弟、或は姉妹、或は父、或は母、或は妻、或は子等、或は田畑を離るる人は百倍を受け、且永遠の生命を得べし。 (aiōnios g166)
30 But many of those who are first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”
但多く、先なる人は後になり、後なる人は先にならん。
