Matthew 10
1 And having called together his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out and to cure every sickness and every infirmity.
| آنگاه عیسی دوازده شاگردش را نزد خود فرا خواند و به ایشان اقتدار داد تا ارواح پلید را بیرون کنند و هر نوع بیماری و مرض را شفا دهند. |
2 Now the names of the twelve Apostles are these: the First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother,
| این است نامهای آن دوازده رسول: شمعون (معروف به پِطرُس) و آندریاس (برادر پطرس)؛ یعقوب (پسر زِبِدی) و یوحنا (برادر یعقوب) |
3 James of Zebedee, and John his brother, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector, and James of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus,
| فیلیپ، بَرتولما، توما، متی (باجگیر معروف)، یعقوب (پسر حلفی)، تَدّای، |
4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
| شمعون (عضو حزب فداییان) و یهودا اِسخریوطی (کسی که در آخر به عیسی خیانت کرد). |
5 Jesus sent these twelve, instructing them, saying: “Do not travel by the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter into the city of the Samaritans,
| عیسی این دوازده رسول را با این دستورالعمل‌ها به مأموریت فرستاد و به ایشان فرمود: «نزد غیریهودیان و سامریان نروید، |
6 but instead go to the sheep who have fallen away from the house of Israel.
| بلکه فقط نزد قوم اسرائیل بروید که گوسفندان گمشدهٔ خدا هستند. |
7 And going forth, preach, saying: ‘For the kingdom of heaven has drawn near.’
| بروید و به ایشان اعلام کنید که ملکوت آسمان نزدیک است. |
8 Cure the infirm, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You have received freely, so give freely.
| بیماران را شفا دهید، مردگان را زنده کنید، جذامی‌ها را شفا بخشید، و ارواح پلید را از وجود افراد بیرون کنید. مفت دریافت کرده‌اید، مفت هم بدهید. |
9 Do not choose to possess gold, nor silver, nor money in your belts,
| در کمربندهایتان، سکه‌های طلا یا نقره یا مس با خود نبرید، |
10 nor provisions for the journey, nor two tunics, nor shoes, nor a staff. For the laborer deserves his portion.
| حتی کوله‌بار و کفش و لباس اضافی و چوبدستی نیز برندارید. بگذارید مردم از شما پذیرایی کنند، زیرا کارگر مستحق مزد خویش است. |
11 Now, into whatever city or town you will enter, inquire as to who is worthy within it. And stay there until you depart.
| هرگاه وارد شهر یا دهکده‌ای می‌شوید، شخص شایسته‌ای را بجویید، و تا هنگام ترک آن محل، در خانه‌اش بمانید. |
12 Then, when you enter into the house, greet it, saying, ‘Peace to this house.’
| وقتی وارد خانه‌ای می‌شوید، برای آن خیر و برکت بطلبید. |
13 And if, indeed, that house is worthy, your peace will rest upon it. But if it is not worthy, your peace will return to you.
| اگر معلوم شود که آن خانه شایسته است، خیر و برکتی که برای آن طلبیدید، بر آن قرار خواهد گرفت. اگر شایسته نباشد، برکت به خودتان باز خواهد گشت. |
14 And whoever has neither received you, nor listened to your words, departing from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
| اگر اهل خانه‌ای یا شهری به شما اجازۀ ورود ندادند، و یا به سخنانتان گوش نسپردند، گرد و خاک آنجا را به هنگام ترک محل، از پاهایتان بتکانید. |
15 Amen I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.
| براستی به شما می‌گویم که در روز داوری، وضع شهرهای فاسد سُدوم و غموره بهتر از وضع چنین شهری خواهد بود. |
16 Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be as prudent as serpents and as simple as doves.
| «من شما را همچون گوسفندان به میان گرگها می‌فرستم. پس مانند مار، هوشیار باشید و مثل کبوتر، بی‌آزار. |
17 But beware of men. For they will hand you over to councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.
| اما مراقب باشید، زیرا مردم شما را گرفته، به محاکم خواهند سپرد، و در کنیسه‌ها شلّاق خواهند زد. |
18 And you shall be led before both rulers and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
| بله، به خاطر من شما را برای محاکمه نزد والیان و پادشاهان خواهند برد. اما این فرصتی خواهد بود تا دربارهٔ من به فرمانروایان و غیریهودیان شهادت دهید. |
19 But when they hand you over, do not choose to think about how or what to speak. For what to speak shall be given to you in that hour.
| «وقتی شما را بازداشت می‌کنند، نگران نباشید که چگونه پاسخ دهید یا چه بگویید، زیرا کلمات مناسب به‌موقع به شما عطا خواهد شد. |
20 For it is not you who will be speaking, but the Spirit of your Father, who will speak in you.
| زیرا این شما نیستید که سخن خواهید گفت، بلکه روح پدر شماست که از طریق شما سخن خواهد گفت. |
21 And brother will hand over brother to death, and father will hand over son. And children will rise up against parents and bring about their deaths.
| «برادر، برادر خود را و پدر، فرزندش را تسلیم مرگ خواهد کرد. فرزندان بر ضد والدین خود برخاسته، سبب قتل آنان خواهند شد. |
22 And you will be hated by all for the sake of my name. But whoever will have persevered, even to the end, the same shall be saved.
| همۀ مردم به خاطر من از شما متنفر خواهند شد. اما هر که تا به آخر، زحمات را تحمل کند، نجات خواهد یافت. |
23 Now when they persecute you in one city, flee into another. Amen I say to you, you will not have exhausted all the cities of Israel, before the Son of man returns.
| «هرگاه شما را در شهری آزار رسانند، به شهری دیگر بگریزید. براستی به شما می‌گویم که پیش از آنکه بتوانید به تمام شهرهای اسرائیل بروید، پسر انسان خواهد آمد. |
24 The disciple is not above the teacher, nor is the servant above his master.
| شاگرد از استاد خود و غلام از اربابش والاتر نیستند. |
25 It is sufficient for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant, like his master. If they have called the Father of the family, ‘Beelzebub,’ how much more those of his household?
| کافی است که شاگرد مانند استاد خود شود، و غلام نیز مانند اربابش. اگر مرا که سرپرست خانواده هستم، رئیس ارواح پلید نامیدند، اعضای خانواده‌ام را با چه نامهای بدتری خواهند خواند. |
26 Therefore, do not fear them. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed, nor hidden that shall not be known.
| ولی از آنان که شما را تهدید می‌کنند نترسید، زیرا زمان آن خواهد رسید که هر آنچه پنهان است، آشکار شود، و همگان از آنچه مخفی است، آگاه گردند. |
27 What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light. And what you hear whispered in the ear, preach above the rooftops.
| «سخنانی که اکنون در تاریکی به شما می‌گویم، آنها را در روز روشن بیان کنید. هر چه را که در گوش شما می‌گویم، بر بامها اعلام کنید تا همه بشنوند! |
28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But instead fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell. (Geenna g1067)
| «نترسید از کسانی که می‌توانند فقط جسمتان را بکُشند، اما نمی‌توانند به روحتان آسیبی برسانند. فقط از خدا بترسید که قادر است هم بدن و هم روح شما را در جهنم هلاک کند. (Geenna g1067) |
29 Are not two sparrows sold for one small coin? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father.
| قیمت دو گنجشک چقدر است؟ یک پول سیاه. اما حتی یک گنجشک هم بدون آگاهی پدر شما بر زمین نمی‌افتد. |
30 For even the hairs of your head have all been numbered.
| حتی موهای سر شما نیز شمارش شده است. |
31 Therefore, do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.
| پس نگران نباشید، زیرا ارزش شما بیشتر از هزاران گنجشک است. |
32 Therefore, everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father, who is in heaven.
| «هر که نزد مردم مرا اقرار کند، من نیز او را در حضور پدر آسمانی خود اقرار خواهم کرد. |
33 But whoever will have denied me before men, I also will deny before my Father, who is in heaven.
| اما هر که مرا نزد مردم انکار کند، من نیز در حضور پدر آسمانی خود، او را انکار خواهم کرد. |
34 Do not think that I came to send peace upon the earth. I came, not to send peace, but the sword.
| «گمان مبرید که آمده‌ام صلح به زمین بیاورم! نیامده‌ام تا صلح بیاورم، بلکه تا شمشیر بیاورم. |
35 For I came to divide a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
| من آمده‌ام تا”پسر را علیه پدرش، دختر را علیه مادرش، و عروس را علیه مادرشوهرش برانگیزم. |
36 And the enemies of a man will be those of his own household.
| به‌طوری که اهل خانۀ شخص، دشمنان او خواهند بود.“ |
37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever loves son or daughter above me is not worthy of me.
| «اگر پدر یا مادر خود را بیش از من دوست بدارید، شایسته نیستید که از آنِ من باشید؛ و اگر پسر یا دختر خود را بیش از من دوست بدارید، شایسته نیستید که از آنِ من باشید. |
38 And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
| هر که حاضر نباشد صلیب خود را بردارد و از من پیروی کند، شایسته نیست که از آنِ من باشد. |
39 Whoever finds his life, will lose it. And whoever will have lost his life because of me, shall find it.
| هر که بخواهد جان خود را حفظ کند، آن را از دست خواهد داد؛ اما هر که جانش را به خاطر من از دست بدهد، آن را خواهد یافت. |
40 Whoever receives you, receives me. And whoever receives me, receives him who sent me.
| «هر که شما را بپذیرد، مرا پذیرفته است؛ و هر که مرا بپذیرد، فرستندۀ مرا پذیرفته است. |
41 Whoever receives a prophet, in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet. And whoever receives the just in the name of the just shall receive the reward of the just.
| هر که پیامبری را به‌عنوان فرستاده‌ای از سوی خدا بپذیرد، خود نیز پاداش یک پیامبر را دریافت خواهد کرد، و هر که شخص صالحی را به خاطر صالح بودنش بپذیرد، پاداشی مانند پاداش او خواهد یافت. |
42 And whoever shall give, even to one of the least of these, a cup of cold water to drink, solely in the name of a disciple: Amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.”
| و اگر کسی به این کوچکان، از آن رو که شاگرد منند، حتی یک لیوان آب خنک بدهد، براستی به شما می‌گویم، بی‌پاداش نخواهد ماند.» |
