Mark 10
1 And rising up, he went from there into the area of Judea beyond the Jordan. And again, the crowd came together before him. And just as he was accustomed to do, again he taught them.
൧യേശു അവിടെനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു യോർദ്ദാനക്കരെ യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരോളം ചെന്ന്; പുരുഷാരം പിന്നെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നുകൂടി, പതിവുപോലെ അവൻ അവരെ വീണ്ടും ഉപദേശിച്ചു.
2 And approaching, the Pharisees questioned him, testing him: “Is it lawful for a man to dismiss his wife?”
൨അപ്പോൾ പരീശന്മാർ അടുക്കെ വന്നു: “ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നത് പുരുഷന് നിയമാനുസൃതമോ?” എന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അവനോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
3 But in response, he said to them, “What did Moses instruct you?”
൩അവൻ അവരോട്: “മോശെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്ത് കല്പന തന്നു?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
4 And they said, “Moses gave permission to write a bill of divorce and to dismiss her.”
൪“ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എഴുതിക്കൊടുത്തു അവളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുവാൻ മോശെ അനുവദിച്ചു” എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
5 But Jesus responded by saying: “It was due to the hardness of your heart that he wrote that precept for you.
൫യേശു അവരോട്: “നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം നിമിത്തമത്രേ അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഈ കല്പന എഴുതിത്തന്നത്.
6 But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
൬സൃഷ്ടിയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിങ്കലോ ദൈവം അവരെ ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.
7 Because of this, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife.
൭അതുകൊണ്ട് പുരുഷൻ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും വിട്ടു ഭാര്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരും;
8 And these two shall be one in flesh. And so, they are now, not two, but one flesh.
൮ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും; അങ്ങനെ അവർ പിന്നെ രണ്ടല്ല ഒരു ദേഹമത്രേ.
9 Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.”
൯ആകയാൽ ദൈവം യോജിപ്പിച്ചതിനെ മനുഷ്യൻ വേർപിരിക്കരുത്” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
10 And again, in the house, his disciples questioned him about the same thing.
൧൦വീട്ടിൽവച്ച് ശിഷ്യന്മാർ പിന്നെയും അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അവനോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
11 And he said to them: “Whoever dismisses his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
൧൧അവൻ അവരോട്: “ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവൻ അവൾക്ക് വിരോധമായി വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
12 And if a wife dismisses her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.”
൧൨സ്ത്രീയും ഭർത്താവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് മറ്റൊരുത്തനുമായി വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13 And they brought to him the little children, so that he might touch them. But the disciples admonished those who brought them.
൧൩അവൻ തൊടേണ്ടതിന് ചിലർ തങ്ങളുടെ കുട്ടികളെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാരോ അവരെ ശാസിച്ചു.
14 But when Jesus saw this, he took offense, and he said to them: “Allow the little ones to come to me, and do not prohibit them. For of such as these is the kingdom of God.
൧൪യേശു അത് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ കോപത്തോടെ അവരോട്: “ശിശുക്കളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ വിടുവിൻ; അവരെ തടുക്കരുത്; ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടേതല്ലോ.
15 Amen I say to you, whoever will not accept the kingdom of God like a little child, will not enter into it.”
൧൫ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ശിശു എന്നപോലെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാത്തവൻ ആരും ഒരിക്കലും അതിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ട് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16 And embracing them, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them.
൧൬പിന്നെ അവൻ കുട്ടികളെ എടുത്ത് അവരുടെ മേൽ കൈ വെച്ച്, അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
17 And when he had departed on the way, a certain one, running up and kneeling before him, asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do, so that I may secure eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
൧൭അവൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു യാത്ര ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ ഒരുവൻ ഓടിവന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ മുട്ടുകുത്തി: “നല്ല ഗുരോ, നിത്യജീവനെ അവകാശം ആക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ എന്ത് ചെയ്യേണം?” എന്നു അവനോട് ചോദിച്ചു. (aiōnios g166)
18 But Jesus said to him, “Why call me good? No one is good except the one God.
൧൮അതിന് യേശു: “എന്നെ നല്ലവൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നത് എന്ത്? ദൈവം ഒരുവൻ അല്ലാതെ നല്ലവൻ ആരുമില്ല.
19 You know the precepts: “Do not commit adultery. Do not kill. Do not steal. Do not speak false testimony. Do not deceive. Honor your father and mother.”
൧൯കൊല ചെയ്യരുത്, വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുത്, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുത്, കള്ളസാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുത്, ചതിക്കരുത്, നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിയ്ക്ക എന്നീ കല്പനകളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
20 But in response, he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have observed from my youth.”
൨൦അവൻ അവനോട്: “ഗുരോ, ഇതു ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ ചെറുപ്പംമുതൽ പ്രമാണിച്ചുപോരുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
21 Then Jesus, gazing at him, loved him, and he said to him: “One thing is lacking to you. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and then you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.”
൨൧യേശു അവനെ നോക്കി അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു: “ഒരു കുറവ് നിനക്കുണ്ട്; നീ പോയി നിനക്കുള്ളത് എല്ലാം വിറ്റ് ദരിദ്രർക്ക് കൊടുക്ക; എന്നാൽ നിനക്ക് സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും; പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22 But he went away grieving, having been greatly saddened by the word. For he had many possessions.
൨൨അവൻ വളരെ സമ്പത്തുള്ളവൻ ആകകൊണ്ട് ഈ വചനത്തിങ്കൽ വിഷാദിച്ചു ദുഃഖിതനായി പൊയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞു.
23 And Jesus, looking around, said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God!”
൨൩യേശു ചുറ്റും നോക്കി തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്: “സമ്പത്തുള്ളവർ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നത് എത്ര പ്രയാസം!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus, answering again, said to them: “Little sons, how difficult it is for those who trust in money to enter into the kingdom of God!
൨൪അവന്റെ ഈ വാക്കിനാൽ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ വിസ്മയിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ യേശു പിന്നെയും: “മക്കളേ, ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നത് എത്ര പ്രയാസം!
25 It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for the rich to enter into the kingdom of God.”
൨൫ധനവാൻ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നതിനേക്കാൾ ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയിലൂടെ കടക്കുന്നത് എളുപ്പം” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
26 And they wondered even more, saying among themselves, “Who, then, can be saved?”
൨൬അവർ ഏറ്റവും വിസ്മയിച്ചു: “എന്നാൽ രക്ഷ പ്രാപിക്കുവാൻ ആർക്ക് കഴിയും?” എന്നു തമ്മിൽതമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
27 And Jesus, gazing at them, said: “With men it is impossible; but not with God. For with God all things are possible.”
൨൭യേശു അവരെ നോക്കി; “മനുഷ്യരാൽ അസാദ്ധ്യം തന്നേ, ദൈവത്താൽ അല്ലതാനും; ദൈവത്താൽ സകലവും സാദ്ധ്യമല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
28 And Peter began to say to him, “Behold, we have left all things and have followed you.”
൨൮പത്രൊസ് അവനോട്: “ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങൾ സകലവും വിട്ടു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29 In response, Jesus said: “Amen I say to you, There is no one who has left behind house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or land, for my sake and for the Gospel,
൨൯അതിന് യേശു: “എന്റെ നിമിത്തവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തവും വീടോ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ സഹോദരികളെയോ അമ്മയെയോ അപ്പനെയോ മക്കളെയോ നിലങ്ങളെയോ വിട്ടാൽ,
31 But many of the first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”
൩൧എങ്കിലും മുമ്പന്മാർ പലരും പിമ്പന്മാരും പിമ്പന്മാർ മുമ്പന്മാരും ആകും” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
32 Now they were on the way ascending to Jerusalem. And Jesus went ahead of them, and they were astonished. And those following him were afraid. And again, taking aside the twelve, he began to tell them what was about to happen to him.
൩൨അവർ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയിലൂടെ യാത്ര ചെയ്യുകയായിരുന്നു; യേശു അവർക്ക് മുമ്പായി നടന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാർ വിസ്മയിച്ചു; അനുഗമിക്കുന്നവരോ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു. അവൻ വീണ്ടും പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് അവരോട്:
33 “For behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be handed over to the leaders of the priests, and to the scribes, and the elders. And they will condemn him to death, and they will hand him over to the Gentiles.
൩൩“ഇതാ, നാം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; അവിടെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുടെയും കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും; അവർ അവനെ മരണത്തിനു വിധിച്ചു ജാതികൾക്ക് ഏല്പിക്കും.
34 And they will mock him, and spit on him, and scourge him, and put him to death. And on the third day, he will rise again.”
൩൪അവർ അവനെ പരിഹസിക്കുകയും തുപ്പുകയും തല്ലുകയും കൊല്ലുകയും ചെയ്യും. എന്നാൽ മൂന്നുനാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് അവൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കും” എന്നിങ്ങനെ തനിക്കു വേഗത്തിൽ സംഭവിക്കാനുള്ളത് പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.
35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, drew near to him, saying, “Teacher, we wish that whatever we will ask, you would do for us.”
൩൫സെബെദിയുടെ മക്കളായ യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോട്: “ഗുരോ, ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നോട് യാചിക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്നത് ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്തുതരുവാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
36 But he said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
൩൬അവൻ അവരോട്: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്ത് ചെയ്തുതരുവാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
37 And they said, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right and the other at your left, in your glory.”
൩൭“നിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുവൻ നിന്റെ വലത്തും ഒരുവൻ ഇടത്തും ഇരിക്കുവാൻ വരം നല്കേണം” എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
38 But Jesus said to them: “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink from the chalice from which I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am to be baptized?”
൩൮യേശു അവരോട്: “നിങ്ങൾ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത് എന്താണെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ കുടിക്കുന്ന പാനപാത്രം കുടിക്കുവാനും ഞാൻ ഏല്ക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം ഏൽക്കുവാനും നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കഴിയുമോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന് “കഴിയും” എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
39 But they said to him, “We can.” Then Jesus said to them: “Indeed, you shall drink from the chalice, from which I drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism, with which I am to be baptized.
൩൯യേശു അവരോട്: “ഞാൻ കുടിക്കുന്ന പാനപാത്രം നിങ്ങൾ കുടിക്കുകയും ഞാൻ ഏല്ക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം നിങ്ങൾ ഏല്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
40 But to sit at my right, or at my left, is not mine to give to you, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.”
൪൦എന്നാൽ എന്റെ വലത്തും ഇടത്തും ഇരിക്കുവാൻ വരം നല്കുന്നതോ എന്റേതല്ല; ആർക്ക് ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നുവോ അവർക്ക് കിട്ടും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
41 And the ten, upon hearing this, began to be indignant toward James and John.
൪൧അത് ശേഷം പത്തു ശിഷ്യന്മാരും കേട്ടിട്ട്, അവർക്ക് യാക്കോബിനോടും യോഹന്നാനോടും അമർഷം തോന്നിത്തുടങ്ങി.
42 But Jesus, calling them, said to them: “You know that those who seem to be leaders among the Gentiles dominate them, and their leaders exercise authority over them.
൪൨യേശു അവരെ അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോട്: “ജാതികളുടെ അധിപതികളായവർ അവരുടെ മേൽ കർത്തൃത്വം ചെയ്യുന്നുവെന്നും; അവരുടെ പ്രമാണികൾ അവരുടെ മേൽ അധികാരം നടത്തുന്നു എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.
43 But it is not to be this way among you. Instead, whoever would become greater shall be your minister;
൪൩എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അങ്ങനെ അരുത്; നിങ്ങളിൽ മഹാൻ ആകുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരൻ ആകണം;
44 and whoever will be first among you shall be the servant of all.
൪൪നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാമൻ ആകുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാവർക്കും ദാസനാകേണം.
45 So, too, the Son of man has not come so that they would minister to him, but so that he would minister and would give his life as a redemption for many.”
൪൫മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യിപ്പാനല്ല, ശുശ്രൂഷിപ്പാനും അനേകർക്കുവേണ്ടി തന്റെ ജീവനെ മറുവിലയായി കൊടുക്കുവാനും അത്രേ വന്നത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
46 And they went to Jericho. And as he was setting out from Jericho with his disciples and a very numerous multitude, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind man, sat begging beside the way.
൪൬അവർ യെരിഹോവിൽ എത്തി; പിന്നെ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടും വലിയ പുരുഷാരത്തോടും കൂടെ യെരിഹോവിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ തിമായിയുടെ മകനായ ബർത്തിമായി എന്ന കുരുടനായ ഒരു ഭിക്ഷക്കാരൻ വഴിയരികെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.
47 And when he had heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and to say, “Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me.”
൪൭നസറായനായ യേശു ആ വഴി വരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ട് അവൻ: “ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, യേശുവേ, എന്നോട് കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ” എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.
48 And many admonished him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, take pity on me.”
൪൮മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുവാൻ പലരും അവനെ ശാസിച്ചിട്ടും: “ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, എന്നോട് കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ” എന്നു അവൻ ഏറ്റവും അധികം നിലവിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.
49 And Jesus, standing still, instructed him to be called. And they called the blind man, saying to him: “Be at peace. Arise. He is calling you.”
൪൯അപ്പോൾ യേശു നിന്നു: “അവനെ വിളിപ്പിൻ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. “ധൈര്യപ്പെടുക, എഴുന്നേല്ക്ക, അവൻ നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അവർ കുരുടനെ വിളിച്ചു.
50 And casting aside his garment, he leapt up and went to him.
൫൦അവൻ തന്റെ പുതപ്പ് എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞു ചാടിയെഴുന്നേറ്റ് യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.
51 And in response, Jesus said to him, “What do you want, that I should do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Master, that I may see.”
൫൧യേശു അവനോട്: “ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് എന്ത് ചെയ്തുതരേണമെന്ന് നീ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്: “റബ്ബൂനി, എനിക്ക് കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്കണം” എന്നു കുരുടൻ അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has made you whole.” And immediately he saw, and he followed him on the way.
൫൨യേശു അവനോട്: “പോക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടനെ അവൻ കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു യാത്രയിൽ അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
