Luke 7
1 And when he had completed all his words in the hearing of the people, he entered Capernaum.
Αφού δε ετελείωσε πάντας τους λόγους αυτού εις τας ακοάς του λαού, εισήλθεν εις Καπερναούμ.
2 Now the servant of a certain centurion was dying, due to an illness. And he was very dear to him.
Εκατοντάρχου δε τινός δούλος, όστις ήτο πολύτιμος εις αυτόν, κακώς έχων έμελλε να αποθάνη.
3 And when he had heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to him, petitioning him, so that he would come and heal his servant.
Και ακούσας περί του Ιησού, απέστειλε προς αυτόν πρεσβυτέρους των Ιουδαίων, παρακαλών αυτόν να έλθη να διασώση τον δούλον αυτού.
4 And when they had come to Jesus, they petitioned him anxiously, saying to him: “He is worthy that you should provide this to him.
Οι δε ελθόντες προς τον Ιησούν, παρεκάλουν αυτόν επιμόνως, λέγοντες ότι είναι άξιος εκείνος, εις τον οποίον θέλεις κάμει τούτο·
5 For he loves our nation, and he has built a synagogue for us.”
διότι αγαπά το έθνος υμών, και την συναγωγήν αυτός ωκοδόμησεν εις ημάς.
6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying: “Lord, do not trouble yourself. For I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof.
Ο δε Ιησούς επορεύετο μετ' αυτών. Ενώ δε απείχεν ήδη ου μακράν από της οικίας, έπεμψε προς αυτόν ο εκατόνταρχος φίλους, λέγων προς αυτόν· Κύριε, μη ενοχλείσαι· διότι δεν είμαι άξιος να εισέλθης υπό την στέγην μου·
7 Because of this, I also did not consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant shall be healed.
όθεν ουδέ εμαυτόν έκρινα άξιον να έλθω προς σέ· αλλά ειπέ λόγον, και θέλει ιατρευθή ο δούλός μου.
8 For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
Διότι και εγώ είμαι άνθρωπος υποκείμενος εις εξουσίαν, έχων υπ' εμαυτόν στρατιώτας, και λέγω προς τούτον, Ύπαγε, και υπάγει; και προς άλλον, Έρχου, και έρχεται, και προς τον δούλον μου, Κάμε τούτο, και κάμνει.
9 And upon hearing this, Jesus was amazed. And turning to the multitude following him, he said, “Amen I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.”
Ακούσας δε ταύτα ο Ιησούς εθαύμασεν αυτόν, και στραφείς προς τον όχλον τον ακολουθούντα αυτόν, είπε· Σας λέγω, Ουδέ εν τω Ισραήλ εύρον τοσαύτην πίστιν.
10 And those who had been sent, upon returning to the house, found that the servant, who had been sick, was now healthy.
Και υποστρέψαντες οι απεσταλμένοι εις τον οίκον, εύρον τον ασθενή δούλον υγιαίνοντα.
11 And it happened afterwards that he went to a city, which is called Nain. And his disciples, and an abundant crowd, went with him.
Την δε ακόλουθον ημέραν επορεύετο ο Ιησούς εις πόλιν ονομαζομένην Ναΐν· και συνεπορεύοντο μετ' αυτού ικανοί εκ των μαθητών αυτού και όχλος πολύς.
12 Then, when he had drawn near to the gate of the city, behold, a deceased person was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.
Ως δε επλησίασεν εις την πύλην της πόλεως, ιδού, εφέρετο έξω νεκρός υιός μονογενής της μητρός αυτού, και αύτη ήτο χήρα, και όχλος πολύς της πόλεως ήτο μετ' αυτής.
13 And when the Lord had seen her, being moved by mercy over her, he said to her, “Do not weep.”
Και ιδών αυτήν ο Κύριος, εσπλαγχνίσθη δι' αυτήν και είπε προς αυτήν· Μη κλαίε·
14 And he drew near and touched the coffin. Then those who carried it stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.”
και πλησιάσας ήγγισε το νεκροκράββατον, οι δε βαστάζοντες εστάθησαν, και είπε· Νεανίσκε, προς σε λέγω, σηκώθητι.
15 And the dead youth sat up and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.
Και ανεκάθησεν ο νεκρός και ήρχισε να λαλή, και έδωκεν αυτόν εις την μητέρα αυτού.
16 Then fear fell over all of them. And they magnified God, saying: “For a great prophet has risen up among us,” and, “For God has visited his people.”
Κατέλαβε δε άπαντας φόβος και εδόξαζον τον Θεόν, λέγοντες ότι προφήτης μέγας ηγέρθη εν ημίν, και ότι επεσκέφθη ο Θεός τον λαόν αυτού.
17 And this word about him went out to all of Judea and to the entire surrounding region.
Και εξήλθεν ο λόγος ούτος περί αυτού εν όλη τη Ιουδαία και εν πάσι τοις περιχώροις.
18 And the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things.
Και απήγγειλαν προς τον Ιωάννην οι μαθηταί αυτού περί πάντων τούτων.
19 And John called two of his disciples, and he sent them to Jesus, saying, “Are you he who is to come, or should we wait for another?”
Και προσκαλέσας ο Ιωάννης δύο τινάς των μαθητών αυτού, έπεμψε προς τον Ιησούν, λέγων· Συ είσαι ο ερχόμενος, ή άλλον προσδοκώμεν;
20 But when the men had come to him, they said: “John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying: ‘Are you he who is to come, or should we wait for another?’”
Και ελθόντες προς αυτόν οι άνθρωποι, είπον· Ιωάννης ο Βαπτιστής απέστειλεν ημάς προς σε, λέγων· Συ είσαι ο ερχόμενος, ή άλλον προσδοκώμεν;
21 Now in that same hour, he cured many of their diseases and wounds and evil spirits; and to many of the blind, he gave sight.
Εν αυτή δε τη ώρα εθεράπευσε πολλούς από νόσων και μαστίγων και πνευμάτων πονηρών, και εις τυφλούς πολλούς εχάρισε το βλέπειν.
22 And responding, he said to them: “Go and report to John what you have heard and seen: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead rise again, the poor are evangelized.
Και αποκριθείς ο Ιησούς, είπε προς αυτούς· Υπάγετε και απαγγείλατε προς τον Ιωάννην όσα είδετε και ηκούσατε· ότι τυφλοί αναβλέπουσι, χωλοί περιπατούσι, λεπροί καθαρίζονται, κωφοί ακούουσι, νεκροί εγείρονται, πτωχοί ευαγγελίζονται·
23 And blessed is anyone who has not taken offense at me.”
και μακάριος είναι όστις δεν σκανδαλισθή εν εμοί.
24 And when the messengers of John had withdrawn, he began to speak about John to the crowds. “What did you go out to the desert to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
Αφού δε ανεχώρησαν οι απεσταλμένοι του Ιωάννου, ήρχισε να λέγη προς τους όχλους περί του Ιωάννου· Τι εξήλθετε εις την έρημον να ίδητε; κάλαμον υπό ανέμου σαλευόμενον;
25 Then what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Behold, those who are in costly apparel and finery are in the houses of kings.
Αλλά τι εξήλθετε να ίδητε; άνθρωπον ενδεδυμένον μαλακά ιμάτια; ιδού, οι λαμπρώς ενδεδυμένοι και τρυφώντες ευρίσκονται εν τοις βασιλικοίς παλατίοις.
26 Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Certainly, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
Αλλά τι εξήλθετε να ίδητε; προφήτην; Ναι, σας λέγω, και περισσότερον προφήτου.
27 This is he of whom it is written: “Behold, I send my Angel before your face, who shall prepare your way before you.”
Ούτος είναι, περί του οποίου είναι γεγραμμένον, Ιδού, εγώ αποστέλλω τον άγγελόν μου προ προσώπου σου, Όστις θέλει κατασκευάσει την οδόν σου έμπροσθέν σου.
28 For I say to you, among those born of women, no one is greater than the prophet John the Baptist. But he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
Διότι σας λέγω, μεταξύ των γεννηθέντων εκ γυναικών ουδείς προφήτης είναι μεγαλήτερος Ιωάννου του βαπτιστού· πλην ο μικρότερος εν τη βασιλεία του Θεού είναι μεγαλήτερος αυτού.
29 And upon hearing this, all the people and the tax collectors justified God, by being baptized with the baptism of John.
Και πας ο λαός ακούσας και οι τελώναι εδικαίωσαν τον Θεόν, βαπτισθέντες το βάπτισμα του Ιωάννου.
30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law despised the counsel of God concerning themselves, by not being baptized by him.
Οι δε Φαρισαίοι και οι νομικοί ηθέτησαν εις εαυτούς την βουλήν του Θεού, μη βαπτισθέντες υπ' αυτού.
31 Then the Lord said: “Therefore, to what shall I compare the men of this generation? And to what are they similar?
Και είπεν ο Κύριος· Με τι λοιπόν να ομοιώσω τους ανθρώπους της γενεάς ταύτης; και με τι είναι όμοιοι;
32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace, talking with one another, and saying: ‘We sang to you, and you did not dance. We lamented, and you did not weep.’
Είναι όμοιοι με παιδία καθήμενα εν τη αγορά και φωνάζοντα προς άλληλα και λέγοντα· Αυλόν σας επαίξαμεν, και δεν εχορεύσατε· σας εθρηνωδήσαμεν, και δεν εκλαύσατε.
33 For John the Baptist came, neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
Διότι ήλθεν Ιωάννης ο Βαπτιστής μήτε άρτον τρώγων μήτε οίνον πίνων, και λέγετε· Δαιμόνιον έχει.
34 The Son of man came, eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a voracious man and a drinker of wine, a friend of tax collectors and of sinners.’
Ήλθεν ο Υιός του ανθρώπου τρώγων και πίνων, και λέγετε· Ιδού άνθρωπος φάγος και οινοπότης, φίλος τελωνών και αμαρτωλών.
35 But wisdom is justified by all her children.”
Και εδικαιώθη η σοφία από πάντων των τέκνων αυτής.
36 Then certain Pharisees petitioned him, so that they might eat with him. And he went into the house of the Pharisee, and he reclined at table.
Παρεκάλει δε αυτόν εις εκ των Φαρισαίων να φάγη μετ' αυτού· και εισελθών εις την οικίαν του Φαρισαίου, εκάθησεν εις την τράπεζαν.
37 And behold, a woman who was in the city, a sinner, found out that he was reclining at table in the house of the Pharisee, so she brought an alabaster container of ointment.
Και ιδού, γυνή τις εν τη πόλει, ήτις ήτο αμαρτωλή, μαθούσα ότι κάθηται εις την τράπεζαν εν τη οικία του Φαρισαίου, έφερεν αλάβαστρον μύρου
38 And standing behind him, beside his feet, she began to wash his feet with tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, and she kissed his feet, and she anointed them with ointment.
και σταθείσα πλησίον των ποδών αυτού οπίσω κλαίουσα, ήρχισε να βρέχη τους πόδας αυτού με τα δάκρυα και εσπόγγιζε με τας τρίχας της κεφαλής αυτής και κατεφίλει τους πόδας αυτού και ήλειφε με το μύρον.
39 Then the Pharisee, who had invited him, upon seeing this, spoke within himself, saying, “This man, if he were a prophet, would certainly know who and what kind of woman is this, who is touching him: that she is a sinner.”
Ιδών δε ο Φαρισαίος ο καλέσας αυτόν, είπε καθ' εαυτόν λέγων· Ούτος, εάν ήτο προφήτης, ήθελε γνωρίζει τις και οποία είναι η γυνή, ήτις εγγίζει αυτόν, ότι είναι αμαρτωλή.
40 And in response, Jesus said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” So he said, “Speak, Teacher.”
Και αποκριθείς ο Ιησούς, είπε προς αυτόν· Σίμων, έχω να σοι είπω τι. Ο δε λέγει· Διδάσκαλε, ειπέ.
41 “A certain creditor had two debtors: one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
Είχε τις δανειστάς δύο χρεωφειλέτας· ο εις εχρεώστει δηνάρια πεντακόσια, ο δε άλλος πεντήκοντα.
42 And since they did not have the ability to repay him, he forgave them both. So then, which of them loves him more?”
Και επειδή δεν είχον να αποδώσωσιν, εχάρισεν αυτά εις αμφοτέρους. Τις λοιπόν εξ αυτών, ειπέ, θέλει αγαπήσει αυτόν περισσότερον;
43 In response, Simon said, “I suppose that it is he to whom he forgave the most.” And he said to him, “You have judged correctly.”
Αποκριθείς δε ο Σίμων, είπε· Νομίζω ότι εκείνος, εις τον οποίον εχάρισε το περισσότερον. Ο δε είπε προς αυτόν· Ορθώς έκρινας.
44 And turning to the woman, he said to Simon: “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house. You gave me no water for my feet. But she has washed my feet with tears, and has wiped them with her hair.
Και στραφείς προς την γυναίκα, είπε προς τον Σίμωνα· Βλέπεις ταύτην την γυναίκα; Εισήλθον εις την οικίαν σου, ύδωρ διά τους πόδας μου δεν έδωκας· αύτη δε με τα δάκρυα έβρεξε τους πόδας μου και με τας τρίχας της κεφαλής αυτής εσπόγγισε.
45 You gave no kiss to me. But she, from the time that she entered, has not ceased to kiss my feet.
Φίλημα δεν μοι έδωκας· αύτη δε, αφ' ης εισήλθον, δεν έπαυσε καταφιλούσα τους πόδας μου.
46 You did not anoint my head with oil. But she has anointed my feet with ointment.
Με έλαιον την κεφαλήν μου δεν ήλειψας· αύτη δε με μύρον ήλειψε τους πόδας μου.
47 Because of this, I tell you: many sins are forgiven her, because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven less, loves less.”
Διά τούτο σοι λέγω, συγκεχωρημέναι είναι αι αμαρτίαι αυτής αι πολλαί, διότι ηγάπησε πολύ· εις όντινα δε συγχωρείται ολίγον, ολίγον αγαπά.
48 Then he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven you.”
Και είπε προς αυτήν· Συγκεχωρημέναι είναι αι αμαρτίαι σου.
49 And those who sat at table with him began to say within themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”
Και ήρχισαν οι συγκαθήμενοι εις την τράπεζαν να λέγωσι καθ' εαυτούς· Τις είναι ούτος, όστις και αμαρτίας συγχωρεί;
50 Then he said to the woman: “Your faith has brought you salvation. Go in peace.”
Είπε δε προς την γυναίκα· Η πίστις σου σε έσωσεν· ύπαγε εις ειρήνην.
