Luke 6
1 Now it happened that, on the second first Sabbath, as he passed through the grain field, his disciples were separating the ears of grain and eating them, by rubbing them in their hands.
൧ഒരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ യേശു വിളഭൂമിയിൽ കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കതിർ പറിച്ചു കൈകൊണ്ട് തിരുമ്മിത്തിന്നു.
2 Then certain Pharisees said to them, “Why are you doing what is not lawful on the Sabbaths?”
൨പരീശരിൽ ചിലർ “ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അനുവദിക്കാത്തത് എന്തിനാണ് നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
3 And responding to them, Jesus said: “Have you not read this, what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him?
൩യേശു അവരോട്: ദാവീദ് തനിക്കും കൂടെയുള്ളവർക്കും വിശന്നപ്പോൾ എന്താണ് ചെയ്തത്? അവൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്ന്
4 How he entered into the house of God, and took the bread of the Presence, and ate it, and gave it to those who were with him, though it is not lawful for anyone to eat it, except the priests alone?”
൪പുരോഹിതന്മാർ മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരും തിന്നരുതാത്ത കാഴ്ചയപ്പം വാങ്ങി തിന്നുകയും കൂടെയുള്ളവർക്ക് കൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നുള്ളത് നിങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
5 And he said to them, “For the Son of man is Lord, even of the Sabbath.”
൫മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ശബ്ബത്തിനും കർത്താവ് ആകുന്നു എന്നും അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
6 And it happened that, on another Sabbath, he entered into the synagogue, and he taught. And there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
൬മറ്റൊരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്ന് ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ വലങ്കൈ ശോഷിച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
7 And the scribes and Pharisees observed whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might thereby find an accusation against him.
൭ശാസ്ത്രികളും പരീശരും അവനിൽ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുവാൻ എന്തെങ്കിലും കാരണം അന്വേഷിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. അവൻ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ ആ മനുഷ്യനെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുമോ എന്നു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
8 Yet truly, he knew their thoughts, and so he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Rise up and stand in the middle.” And rising up, he stood still.
൮അവരുടെ വിചാരം മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ട് അവൻ ശോഷിച്ച കയ്യുള്ള മനുഷ്യനോടു: എഴുന്നേറ്റ് നടുവിൽ നില്ക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു;
9 Then Jesus said to them: “I ask you if it is lawful on the Sabbaths to do good, or to do evil? To give health to a life, or to destroy it?”
൯അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് നിന്നു. യേശു അവരോട്: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ഒന്ന് ചോദിക്കട്ടെ: ശബ്ബത്തിൽ നന്മ ചെയ്കയോ തിന്മചെയ്കയോ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിയ്ക്കുകയോ നശിപ്പിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്നത് നിയമാനുസൃതമോ? എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
10 And looking around at everyone, he said to the man, “Extend your hand.” And he extended it. And his hand was restored.
൧൦അവരെ എല്ലാം ചുറ്റും നോക്കീട്ട് ആ മനുഷ്യനോടു: കൈ നീട്ടുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു, അവന്റെ കൈ സുഖമായി.
11 Then they were filled with madness, and they discussed with one another, what, in particular, they might do about Jesus.
൧൧അവർക്ക് കഠിനമായ ദേഷ്യം തോന്നി. യേശുവിനെ എന്ത് ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു തമ്മിൽതമ്മിൽ ആലോചിച്ചു.
12 And it happened that, in those days, he went out to a mountain to pray. And he was in the prayer of God throughout the night.
൧൨മറ്റൊരു ദിവസം അവൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുവാനായി ഒരു മലയിൽ ചെന്ന്. അവൻ ദൈവത്തോട് രാത്രി മുഴുവൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.
13 And when daylight had arrived, he called his disciples. And he chose twelve out of them (whom he also named Apostles):
൧൩രാവിലെ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ചു, അവരിൽ പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു, അവർക്ക് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർ എന്നും പേർവിളിച്ചു.
14 Simon, whom he surnamed Peter, and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
൧൪അവരുടെ പേരുകൾ: പത്രൊസ് എന്നു അവൻ പേർവിളിച്ച ശിമോൻ, അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ്, യാക്കോബ്, യോഹന്നാൻ, ഫിലിപ്പൊസ്, ബർത്തൊലൊമായി,
15 Matthew and Thomas, James of Alphaeus, and Simon who is called the Zealot,
൧൫മത്തായി, തോമസ്, അൽഫായിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബ്, എരിവുകാരനായ ശിമോൻ,
16 and Jude of James, and Judas Iscariot, who was a traitor.
൧൬യാക്കോബിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യൂദാ, ദ്രോഹിയായ്തീർന്ന ഈസ്കര്യോത്ത് യൂദാ എന്നിവർ തന്നേ.
17 And descending with them, he stood in a level place with a multitude of his disciples, and a copious multitude of people from all of Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast, and Tyre and Sidon,
൧൭അവൻ അവരോട് കൂടെ മലയിൽനിന്നു താഴെ ഇറങ്ങി സമഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടവും, യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തുനിന്നും, യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നും സോർ, സീദോൻ എന്ന സമുദ്രതീരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും, അവന്റെ വചനം കേൾക്കുവാനും രോഗശാന്തി കിട്ടുവാനും വന്ന ബഹു പുരുഷാരവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
18 who had come so that they might listen to him and be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled by unclean spirits were cured.
൧൮അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കൾ ബാധിച്ചവരും സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു.
19 And the entire crowd was trying to touch him, because power went out from him and healed all.
൧൯അവനിൽ നിന്നു ശക്തി പുറപ്പെട്ടു എല്ലാവരെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകകൊണ്ട് പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും അവനെ തൊടുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.
20 And lifting up his eyes to his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
൨൦അനന്തരം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ നോക്കി പറഞ്ഞത്: ദരിദ്രന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളത്.
21 Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who are weeping now, for you shall laugh.
൨൧ഇപ്പോൾ വിശക്കുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തൃപ്തിവരും; ഇപ്പോൾ കരയുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; നിങ്ങൾ ചിരിക്കും.
22 Blessed shall you be when men will have hated you, and when they will have separated you and reproached you, and thrown out your name as if evil, because of the Son of man.
൨൨മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ നിമിത്തം മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങളെ ദ്വേഷിച്ച് കൂട്ടത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറന്തള്ളുകയും നിന്ദിക്കുകയും നിങ്ങൾ ദുഷ്ടർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് നിങ്ങളെ തള്ളുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.
23 Be glad in that day and exult. For behold, your reward is great in heaven. For these same things their fathers did to the prophets.
൨൩ആ നാളിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കുവിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിഫലം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ വലിയത്; അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ പ്രവാചകന്മാരോട് അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.
24 Yet truly, woe to you who are wealthy, for you have your consolation.
൨൪എന്നാൽ സമ്പന്നരായ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങളുടെ ആശ്വാസം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നേരത്തേ ലഭിച്ചുപോയല്ലോ.
25 Woe to you who are satisfied, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
൨൫ഇപ്പോൾ തൃപ്തന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വിശക്കും. ഇപ്പോൾ ചിരിക്കുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ ദുഃഖിച്ചു കരയും.
26 Woe to you when men will have blessed you. For these same things their fathers did to the false prophets.
൨൬സകലമനുഷ്യരും നിങ്ങളെ പുകഴ്ത്തിപ്പറയുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ കള്ളപ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.
27 But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.
൨൭എന്നാൽ കേൾക്കുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങളോടു ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത്: നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു ഗുണം ചെയ്‌വിൻ.
28 Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who slander you.
൨൮നിങ്ങളെ ശപിക്കുന്നവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുവിൻ; നിങ്ങളെ ദുഷിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുവിൻ.
29 And to him who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your coat, do not withhold even your tunic.
൨൯നിന്നെ ഒരു കവിളിൽ അടിക്കുന്നവന് മറ്റേതും കാണിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുക; നിന്റെ പുതപ്പ് എടുത്തുകളയുന്നവന് നിന്റെ ഉടുപ്പും എടുത്തുകളയുവാൻ അനുവദിക്കുക.
30 But distribute to all who ask of you. And do not ask again of him who takes away what is yours.
൩൦നിന്നോട് ചോദിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവർക്കും കൊടുക്ക; നിനക്ക് അവകാശമുള്ള എന്തെങ്കിലും എടുത്തുകളയുന്നവനോട് മടക്കി ചോദിക്കരുത്.
31 And exactly as you would want people to treat you, treat them also the same.
൩൧മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ അവർക്കും ചെയ്‌വിൻ.
32 And if you love those who love you, what credit is due to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
൩൨നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്ത് ലാഭം കിട്ടും? പാപികളും തങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
33 And if you will do good to those who do good to you, what credit is due to you? Indeed, even sinners behave this way.
൩൩നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നന്മചെയ്യുന്നവർക്ക് നന്മ ചെയ്താൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്ത് ലാഭം കിട്ടും? പാപികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.
34 And if you will loan to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is due to you? For even sinners lend to sinners, in order to receive the same in return.
൩൪നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തിരിച്ചു നൽകും എന്നു പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് കടം കൊടുത്താൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്ത് കിട്ടും? പാപികളും കുറയാതെ മടക്കിവാങ്ങേണ്ടതിന് പാപികൾക്ക് കടം കൊടുക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
35 So truly, love your enemies. Do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return. And then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and to the wicked.
൩൫നിങ്ങളോ ശത്രുക്കളെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ; അവർക്ക് നന്മ ചെയ്‌വിൻ; ഒന്നും പകരം ആഗ്രഹിക്കാതെ കടം കൊടുക്കുവിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വളരെ പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ അത്യുന്നതന്റെ മക്കൾ ആകും; അവൻ നന്ദികെട്ടവരോടും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടും ദയ കാണിക്കുന്നു.
36 Therefore, be merciful, just as your Father is also merciful.
൩൬അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവ് കരുണയുള്ളവൻ ആകുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും കരുണയുള്ളവർ ആകുവിൻ.
37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
൩൭ആരെയും വിധിക്കരുത്; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളും വിധിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല; ആർക്കും ശിക്ഷ വിധിക്കരുത്; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കും ശിക്ഷാവിധി ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; എല്ലാവരോടും ക്ഷമിക്കുവിൻ; എന്നാൽ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളോടും ക്ഷമിയ്ക്കും.
38 Give, and it will be given to you: a good measure, pressed down and shaken together and overflowing, they will place upon your lap. Certainly, the same measure that you use to measure out, will be used to measure back to you again.”
൩൮കൊടുക്കുവിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കിട്ടും; അമർത്തി കുലുക്കി നിറഞ്ഞു കവിയുന്ന നല്ല അളവ് നിങ്ങളുടെ മടിയിൽ തരും; നിങ്ങൾ അളക്കുന്ന അതേ അളവിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കും അളന്നുകിട്ടും.
39 Now he told them another comparison: “How can the blind lead the blind? Would they not both fall into a pit?
൩൯അവൻ ഒരുപമയും അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞു: ഒരു കുരുടന് മറ്റൊരു കുരുടനെ വഴി കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുവാൻ കഴിയുമോ? രണ്ടുപേരും കുഴിയിൽ വീഴും. ശിഷ്യൻ ഗുരുവിനേക്കാൾ വലിയവനല്ല,
40 The disciple is not above his teacher. But each one will be perfected, if he is like his teacher.
൪൦എന്നാൽ അഭ്യസനം പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയവൻ എല്ലാം ഗുരുവിനെപ്പോലെ ആകും.
41 And why do you see the straw that is in your brother’s eye, while the log that is in your own eye, you do not consider?
൪൧എന്നാൽ നീ സഹോദരന്റെ കണ്ണിലെ കരട് കാണുകയും സ്വന്തകണ്ണിലെ കോൽ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്ത്?
42 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, allow me to remove the straw from your eye,’ while you yourself do not see the log in your own eye? Hypocrite, first remove the log from your own eye, and then will you see clearly, so that you may lead out the straw from your brother’s eye.
൪൨അല്ലെങ്കിൽ, സ്വന്തകണ്ണിലെ കോൽ നോക്കാതെ: സഹോദരാ, നിൽക്ക; നിന്റെ കണ്ണിലെ കരട് എടുത്തുകളയട്ടെ എന്നു സഹോദരനോട് പറയുവാൻ നിനക്ക് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും? കപടഭക്തിക്കാരാ, ആദ്യം സ്വന്തകണ്ണിലെ കോൽ എടുത്തുകളയുക; എന്നാൽ സഹോദരന്റെ കണ്ണിലെ കരട് എടുത്തുകളയുവാൻ വ്യക്തമായി കാണുമല്ലോ.
43 For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor does an evil tree produce good fruit.
൪൩ചീത്തഫലം കായ്ക്കുന്ന നല്ല വൃക്ഷമില്ല; നല്ലഫലം കായ്ക്കുന്ന ചീത്ത വൃക്ഷവുമില്ല.
44 For each and every tree is known by its fruit. For they do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather the grape from the bramble bush.
൪൪ഏത് വൃക്ഷത്തെയും ഫലംകൊണ്ട് അറിയാം. ആർക്കും മുള്ളിൽനിന്ന് അത്തിപ്പഴം ശേഖരിക്കുവാനും ഞെരിഞ്ഞിലിൽ നിന്നു മുന്തിരിങ്ങ പറിക്കുവാനും സാധിക്കുകയില്ല.
45 A good man, from the good storehouse of his heart, offers what is good. And an evil man, from the evil storehouse, offers what is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
൪൫നല്ലമനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നല്ല നിക്ഷേപത്തിൽ നിന്നു നല്ലത് പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടൻ ദോഷമായതിൽ നിന്നു ദോഷം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു. ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്നു നിറഞ്ഞു കവിയുന്നതാണല്ലോ നാം സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്.
46 But why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say?
൪൬നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കർത്താവേ, കർത്താവേ എന്നു വിളിക്കുകയും ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്ത്?
47 Anyone who comes to me, and listens to my words, and does them: I will reveal to you what he is like.
൪൭എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു എന്റെ വചനം കേട്ട് അനുസരിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ആരോടാണ് തുല്യൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞുതരാം.
48 He is like a man building a house, who has dug deep and has laid the foundation upon the rock. Then, when the floodwaters came, the river was rushing against that house, and it was not able to move it. For it was founded upon the rock.
൪൮ആഴത്തിൽക്കുഴിച്ച് പാറമേൽ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഇട്ട് വീട് പണിയുന്ന മനുഷ്യനോടു അവൻ തുല്യൻ. വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കം ഉണ്ടായിട്ട് ഒഴുക്ക് വീടിനോട് അടിച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അത് നല്ലവണ്ണം പണിതിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഇളകിപ്പോയില്ല.
49 But whoever hears and does not do: he is like a man building his house upon the soil, without a foundation. The river rushed against it, and it soon fell down, and the ruin of that house was great.”
൪൯എന്റെ വചനം കേട്ടിട്ട് അനുസരിക്കാത്തവനോ അടിസ്ഥാനം കൂടാതെ മണ്ണിന്മേൽ വീട് പണിത മനുഷ്യനോടു തുല്യൻ. ഒഴുക്ക് അടിച്ച ഉടനെ അത് വീണു; ആ വീടിന്റെ വീഴ്ച പൂർണ്ണവുമായിരുന്നു.
