Luke 19
1 And having entered, he walked through Jericho.
Er kam nach Jericho und zog hindurch.
2 And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. And he was the leader of the tax collectors, and he was wealthy.
Da war ein Mann, der Zachäus hieß, er war ein Oberzöllner und reich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus, to see who he was. But he was unable to do so, because of the crowd, for he was small in stature.
Er hätte gern gesehen, wer Jesus sei; allein der Menge wegen war es ihm nicht möglich, denn er war klein von Gestalt.
4 And running ahead, he climbed up a sycamore tree, so that he might see him. For he was to pass near there.
Deshalb lief er voraus, stieg auf einen Maulbeerfeigenbaum, um ihn zu sehen; Jesus mußte nämlich dort vorüberkommen.
5 And when he had arrived at the place, Jesus looked up and saw him, and he said to him: “Zacchaeus, hurry down. For today, I should lodge in your house.”
Als Jesus an die Stelle kam, blickte er empor und sprach zu ihm: "Zachäus, steige schnell herab, denn heute muß ich in deinem Hause bleiben."
6 And hurrying, he came down, and he received him joyfully.
Da stieg er schnell herab und nahm ihn voll Freude auf.
7 And when they all saw this, they murmured, saying that he had turned aside to a sinful man.
Doch alle, die es sahen, murrten; sie sprachen: "Bei einem Sünder ist er eingekehrt."
8 But Zacchaeus, standing still, said to the Lord: “Behold, Lord, one half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have cheated anyone in any matter, I will repay him fourfold.”
Zachäus aber trat vor ihn und sprach zum Herrn: "Siehe, Herr, die Hälfte meines Vermögens gebe ich den Armen, und habe ich jemand übervorteilt, gebe ich es vierfach wieder zurück."
9 Jesus said to him: “Today, salvation has come to this house; because of this, he too is a son of Abraham.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Heute ist diesem Hause Heil widerfahren, weil auch er ein Sohn Abrahams ist.
10 For the Son of man has come to seek and to save what had been lost.”
Denn der Menschensohn ist gekommen, zu suchen und zu retten, was verloren war."
11 As they were listening to these things, continuing on, he spoke a parable, because he was nearing Jerusalem, and because they guessed that the kingdom of God might be manifested without delay.
Und vor denselben Zuhörern fügte er ein Gleichnis an, war er doch nahe bei Jerusalem, und jene meinten, daß jetzt gleich das Reich Gottes erscheinen müsse.
12 Therefore, he said: “A certain man of nobility traveled to a far away region, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
Er sagte also: "Ein Mann von edler Abkunft zog in ein fernes Land. Er wollte sich dort die Königswürde erlangen und danach wieder heimwärts ziehen.
13 And calling his ten servants, he gave them ten pounds, and he said to them: ‘Do business until I return.’
Er rief seine zehn Knechte zu sich her und gab ihnen zehn Minen und sprach zu ihnen: 'Treibt damit Handel, bis ich wiederkomme.'
14 But his citizens hated him. And so they sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this one to reign over us.’
Seine Mitbürger aber waren ihm feind; sie schickten ihm Gesandte nach und ließen sagen: 'Den wollen wir nicht zu unserem Könige haben.'
15 And it happened that he returned, having received the kingdom. And he ordered the servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called so that he would know how much each one had earned by doing business.
Doch als er nach erlangter Königswürde zurückkehrte, ließ er die Knechte, denen er das Geld gegeben hatte, rufen, um zu erfahren, was ein jeder für Geschäfte gemacht habe.
16 Now the first approached, saying: ‘Lord, your one pound has earned ten pounds.’
Der erste kam und sprach: 'Herr, deine Mine hat noch zehn Minen hinzugewonnen.'
17 And he said to him: ‘Well done, good servant. Since you have been faithful in a small matter, you will hold authority over ten cities.’
Er sprach zu ihm: 'Recht so, guter Knecht, weil du im Geringen getreu gewesen bist, sollst du Herr sein über zehn Städte.'
18 And the second came, saying: ‘Lord, your one pound has earned five pounds.’
Der zweite kam und sprach: 'Herr, deine Mine hat noch fünf Minen hinzugewonnen.'
19 And he said to him, ‘And so, you shall be over five cities.’
Zu diesem sprach er gleichfalls: 'Auch du sollst über fünf Städte gebieten.'
20 And another approached, saying: ‘Lord, behold your one pound, which I kept stored in a cloth.
Ein dritter kam und sagte: Herr, siehe, da ist deine Mine; ich habe sie im Schweißtuch aufbewahrt.
21 For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You take up what you did not lay down, and you reap what you did not sow.’
Ich hatte Angst vor dir; du bist ein strenger Mann, du erhebst, wo du nicht angelegt, und erntest, wo du nicht gesät hast.'
22 He said to him: ‘By your own mouth, do I judge you, O wicked servant. You knew that I am an austere man, taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow.
Er sprach zu ihm: 'Mit deinen eigenen Worten will ich dich verdammen, nichtswürdiger Knecht! Du hast gewußt, daß ich ein strenger Mann bin, daß ich erhebe, wo ich nicht angelegt, und ernte, wo ich nicht gesät habe.
23 And so, why did you not give my money to the bank, so that, upon my return, I might have withdrawn it with interest?’
Warum hast du mein Geld nicht auf die Bank gebracht? Dann hätte ich es bei meiner Rückkehr mit Zinsen abheben können.'
24 And he said to the bystanders, ‘Take the pound away from him, and give it to him who has ten pounds.’
'Nehmt ihm die Mine', sagte er zu den Umstehenden, 'und gebt sie dem, der die zehn Minen hat.'
25 And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten pounds.’
Doch diese sagten zu ihm: 'Herr, er hat ja schon zehn Minen.'
26 So then, I say to you, that to all who have, it shall be given, and he will have in abundance. And from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
'Ich sage euch: Jedem, der hat, dem wird gegeben werden; wer aber nicht hat, dem wird auch das genommen werden, was er besitzt.
27 ‘Yet truly, as for those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here, and put them to death before me.’”
Doch jene, meine Feinde, die nicht wollten, daß ich König sei, bringt her und haut sie vor meinen Augen nieder!'"
28 And having said these things, he went ahead, ascending to Jerusalem.
Nach diesen Worten ging er wiederum voran und zog nach Jerusalem hinauf.
29 And it happened that, when he had drawn near to Bethphage and Bethania, to the mount which is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,
So kam er in die Nähe von Bethphage und Bethanien am sogenannten Ölberg. Er sandte zwei von seinen Jüngern mit dem Auftrag fort:
30 saying: “Go into the town which is opposite you. Upon entering it, you will find the colt of a donkey, tied, on which no man has ever sat. Untie it, and lead it here.
"Geht in das Dorf, das vor euch liegt. Am Eingang findet ihr ein Füllen angebunden, worauf noch niemals jemand saß. Bindet dieses los und bringt es her!
31 And if anyone will ask you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this to him: ‘Because the Lord has requested its service.’”
Und sollte jemand zu euch sagen: 'Warum bindet ihr es los?', dann saget: 'Weil der Herr es braucht.'"
32 And those who were sent went out, and they found the colt standing, just as he told them.
Die Abgesandten gingen hin und fanden es so, wie er es ihnen gesagt hatte.
33 Then, as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
Als sie das Füllen losbanden, da fragte sie dessen Eigentümer: "Warum bindet ihr das Füllen los?"
34 So they said, “Because the Lord has need of it.”
Sie sprachen: "Weil der Herr es braucht."
35 And they led it to Jesus. And casting their garments on the colt, they helped Jesus onto it.
Sie führten es zu Jesus und legten ihre Kleider auf das Füllen und hoben Jesus hinauf.
36 Then, as he was traveling, they were laying down their garments along the way.
Und wie er so dahinzog, breiteten sie ihre Kleider auf den Weg.
37 And when he was now drawing near to the descent of Mount Olivet, the entire crowd of his disciples began to praise God joyfully, with a loud voice, over all the powerful works which they had seen,
Schon war er nahe der Stelle, wo es am Ölberg abwärts geht, da begann die ganze Jüngerschar voll Freude mit lauter Stimme Gott zu preisen wegen all der Wundertaten, die sie gesehen hatten.
38 saying: “Blessed is the king who has arrived in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory on high!”
Sie riefen: "Gepriesen sei der König, der im Namen des Herrn kommt. Friede ist im Himmel, Ehre in der Höhe."
39 And certain Pharisees within the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”
Doch einige der Pharisäer, die in der Menge waren, sagten ihm: "Meister, wehre deinen Jüngern!"
40 And he said to them, “I tell you, that if these will keep silent, the stones themselves will cry out.”
Er aber sprach: "Ich sage euch: Wenn diese schweigen, werden die Steine schreien."
41 And when he drew near, seeing the city, he wept over it, saying:
Als er sich der Stadt näherte und diese vor sich liegen sah, weinte er über sie
42 “If only you had known, indeed even in this your day, which things are for your peace. But now they are hidden from your eyes.
und sprach: "Wenn doch auch du erkanntest, und zwar an diesem deinem Tage, was dir zum Frieden dient! So aber ist es vor deinen Augen verborgen.
43 For the days will overtake you. And your enemies will encircle you with a valley. And they will surround you and hem you in on every side.
Es werden Tage über dich kommen, da deine Feinde rings um dich her einen Wall aufwerfen, dich ringsum einschließen und dich von allen Seiten bedrängen werden.
44 And they will knock you down to the ground, with your sons who are in you. And they will not leave stone upon stone within you, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
Sie werden dich und deine Kinder in deinen Mauern auf den Boden schmettern und keinen Stein in dir auf dem anderen lassen, weil du die Zeit deiner Heimsuchung nicht erkannt hast."
45 And entering into the temple, he began to cast out those who sold in it, and those who bought,
Dann ging er in den Tempel und trieb die Händler hinaus, wobei er ihnen zurief:
46 saying to them: “It is written: ‘My house is a house of prayer.’ But you have made it into a den of robbers.”
"Es steht geschrieben: 'Mein Haus soll ein Bethaus sein'; 'doch ihr habt eine Räuberhöhle daraus gemacht.'"
47 And he was teaching in the temple daily. And the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, and the leaders of the people were seeking to destroy him.
Er lehrte täglich im Tempel. Die Oberpriester und die Schriftgelehrten und auch die Führer des Volkes trachteten ihm nach dem Leben.
48 But they could not find what to do to him. For all the people were listening to him attentively.
Doch konnten sie ihm nichts anhaben; das ganze Volk hing ja an ihm, wenn es ihn hörte.
