Luke 16
1 And he also said to his disciples: “A certain man was wealthy, and he had a steward of his estate. And this man was accused to him of having dissipated his goods.
൧പിന്നെ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: ധനവാനായൊരു മനുഷ്യന് ഒരു കാര്യവിചാരകൻഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അവന്റെ വസ്തുവക അനാവശ്യമായി ചെലവാക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചിലർ അവനെ കുറ്റം പറഞ്ഞു.
2 And he called him and said to him: ‘What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship. For you can no longer be my steward.’
൨അവൻ അവനെ വിളിച്ചു: നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് ഈ കേൾക്കുന്നത് എന്താണ്? നീ നിന്റെ കാര്യവിചാരകത്തിന്റെ കണക്ക് ഏല്പിച്ചുതരിക; നീ ഇനി എന്റെ കാര്യവിചാരകൻ ആയിരിക്കണ്ട എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
3 And the steward said within himself: ‘What shall I do? For my lord is taking the stewardship away from me. I am not strong enough to dig. I am too ashamed to beg.
൩അത് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ കാര്യവിചാരകൻ: ഞാൻ എന്ത് ചെയ്യും? യജമാനൻ എന്റെ ജോലിയിൽ നിന്നും എന്നെ നീക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്നു; കിളയ്ക്കുവാൻ ഉള്ള ശക്തി എനിക്കില്ല; മറ്റുള്ളവരോടു യാചിക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ നാണിക്കുന്നു.
4 I know what I will do so that, when I have been removed from the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’
൪എന്നെ കാര്യവിചാരത്തിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കിയാൽ, ആളുകൾ എന്നെ അവരുടെ വീടുകളിൽ സ്വീകരിക്കണം. അതിനുവേണ്ടി എന്ത് ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു എനിക്ക് അറിയാം എന്നു ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ട് പറഞ്ഞു.
5 And so, calling together each one of his lord’s debtors, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my lord?’
൫പിന്നെ അവൻ യജമാനന്റെ കടക്കാരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തരെ വരുത്തി. ഒന്നാമത്തെ ആളിനോട് നീ യജമാനനോട് കടം വാങ്ങിയിട്ടുള്ളത് എന്താണ് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
6 So he said, ‘One hundred jars of oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your invoice, and quickly, sit down and write fifty.’
൬നൂറു കുടംഎണ്ണ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. കാര്യവിചാരകൻ അവനോട്: നിന്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ട് വാങ്ങി വേഗം അത് അമ്പത് എന്ന് എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7 Next, he said to another, ‘In truth, how much do you owe?’ And he said, ‘One hundred measures of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your record books, and write eighty.’
൭അതിന്‍റെശേഷം മറ്റൊരു ആളിനോട്: നീ എന്താണ് കടം വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. നൂറു പറഗോതമ്പു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു; അവനോട്: നിന്റെ കൈച്ചീട്ട് വാങ്ങി എൺപത് എന്നു എഴുതുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
8 And the lord praised the iniquitous steward, in that he had acted prudently. For the sons of this age are more prudent with their generation than are the sons of light. (aiōn g165)
൮ഈ അനീതിയുള്ള കാര്യവിചാരകൻ ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് യജമാനൻ അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി; വെളിച്ചത്തിന്റെ മക്കളേക്കാൾ ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറയിൽ ബുദ്ധിയേറിയവരാണ് (aiōn g165)
9 And so I say to you, make friends for yourself using iniquitous mammon, so that, when you will have passed away, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles. (aiōnios g166)
൯അനീതിയുള്ള ധനംകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു യേശു അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞു. അത് ഇല്ലാതെയാകുമ്പോൾ അവർ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളെ സ്വീകരിക്കും. (aiōnios g166)
10 Whoever is faithful in what is least, is also faithful in what is greater. And whoever is unjust in what is small, is also unjust in what is greater.
൧൦ചെറിയ കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ വിശ്വസ്തനായവൻ വലിയ കാര്യങ്ങളിലും വിശ്വസ്തൻ ആയിരിക്കും; ചെറിയ കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ നീതി കാണിക്കാത്തവർ വലിയ കാര്യങ്ങളിലും നീതി കാണിക്കാത്തവർ ആയിരിക്കും.
11 So then, if you have not been faithful with iniquitous mammon, who will trust you with what is true?
൧൧അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ, നീതി ഇല്ലാത്ത ഈ ലോകത്തിലെ ധനത്തിൽ വിശ്വസ്തരായില്ല എങ്കിൽ സത്യമായ ധനം നിങ്ങളെ ആരും ഏല്പിക്കുകയില്ല?
12 And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you what is yours?
൧൨നിങ്ങളെ ഏൽപ്പിച്ച മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസ്തരായില്ല എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സ്വന്തമായത് ആരും ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുതരികയില്ല.
13 No servant is able to serve two lords. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will cling to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
൧൩രണ്ടു യജമാനന്മാരെ സേവിക്കുവാൻ ഒരു ദാസനും കഴിയുകയില്ല; അവൻ ഒരാളെ വെറുക്കുകയും മറ്റെ ആളിനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഒരാളോട് ആത്മാർത്ഥത കാണിക്കുകയും മറ്റെ ആളിനെ നിന്ദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ദൈവത്തെയും ധനത്തെയും സേവിക്കുവാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല.
14 But the Pharisees, who were greedy, were listening to all these things. And they ridiculed him.
൧൪ഇതൊക്കെയും അമിതമായി ധനം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന പരീശർ കേട്ട് അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.
15 And he said to them: “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of men. But God knows your hearts. For what is lifted up by men is an abomination in the sight of God.
൧൫യേശു അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യരുടെ മുൻപിൽ സ്വയം നീതീകരിക്കുന്നവർ ആകുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം അറിയുന്നു; നല്ലതെന്ന് മനുഷ്യർ ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ ദൈവം വെറുക്കുന്നു
16 The law and the prophets were until John. Since then, the kingdom of God is being evangelized, and everyone acts with violence toward it.
൧൬ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും കാലം യോഹന്നാൻ വരെ ആയിരുന്നു; അന്നുമുതൽ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ സുവിശേഷിച്ചുവരുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കയറുവാൻ വേണ്ടി പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.
17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one dot of the law to fall away.
൧൭ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഒരു ചെറിയ അക്ഷരം മാറുന്നതിനേക്കൾ എളുപ്പം ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നത് ആയിരിക്കും.
18 Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. And whoever marries her who has been divorced by her husband commits adultery.
൧൮ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് മറ്റാരെയെങ്കിലും വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഭർത്താവ് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവനും വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
19 A certain man was wealthy, and he was clothed in purple and in fine linen. And he feasted splendidly every day.
൧൯ഒരിടത്ത് ധനവാനായ ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ധൂമ്രവസ്ത്രവും പട്ടുംധരിച്ചു ദിനമ്പ്രതി ആഡംബരത്തോടെ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.
20 And there was a certain beggar, named Lazarus, who lay at his gate, covered with sores,
൨൦ലാസർ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു ദരിദ്രൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ ശരീരം മുഴുവൻ വ്രണങ്ങൾനിറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. അവൻ ധനവാന്റെ പടിപ്പുരയ്ക്കൽ ആയിരുന്നു കിടന്നിരുന്നത്
21 wanting to be filled with the crumbs which were falling from the wealthy man’s table. But no one gave it to him. And even the dogs came and licked his sores.
൨൧ധനവാന്റെ മേശയിൽ നിന്നു വീഴുന്നത് തിന്നു വിശപ്പടക്കുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു; നായ്ക്കളും വന്നു അവന്റെ വ്രണം നക്കും.
22 Then it happened that the beggar died, and he was carried by the Angels into the bosom of Abraham. Now the wealthy man also died, and he was entombed,
൨൨ആ ദരിദ്രൻ മരിച്ചപ്പോൾ ദൂതന്മാർ അവനെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മടിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി. ധനവാനും മരിച്ചു അടക്കപ്പെട്ടു;
23 in Hell. Then lifting up his eyes, while he was in torments, he saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
൨൩പാതാളത്തിൽ കഷ്ടത അനുഭവിക്കുമ്പോൾ മേലോട്ടു നോക്കി ദൂരത്ത് നിന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ മടിയിൽ ലാസറിനെയും കണ്ട്: (Hadēs g86)
24 And crying out, he said: ‘Father Abraham, take pity on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water to refresh my tongue. For I am tortured in this fire.’
൨൪അബ്രാഹാംപിതാവേ, എന്നോട് കനിവുണ്ടാകേണമേ; ലാസർ വിരലിന്റെ അറ്റം വെള്ളത്തിൽ മുക്കി എന്റെ നാവിനെ തണുപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവനെ അയയ്ക്കേണമേ; ഞാൻ ഈ ജ്വാലയിൽ കിടന്ന് വേദന അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 And Abraham said to him: ‘Son, recall that you received good things in your life, and in comparison, Lazarus received bad things. But now he is consoled, and truly you are tormented.
൨൫അബ്രാഹാം: മകനേ, നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിൽ നീ നന്മയും ലാസർ തിന്മയും പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു ഓർക്ക; ഇപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഇവിടെ ആശ്വസിക്കുന്നു: നീയോ വേദന അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു.
26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been established, so that those who might want to cross from here to you are not able, nor can someone cross from there to here.’
൨൬അത്രയുമല്ല ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങൾക്കും നടുവെ വലിയൊരു പിളർപ്പുണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവിടെ നിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കടന്നുവരുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് സാധിക്കുകയില്ല; അവിടെനിന്ന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കടന്നു വരുവാനും സാധ്യമല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
27 And he said: ‘Then, father, I beg you to send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers,
൨൭അതിന് അവൻ: എന്നാൽ പിതാവേ, അവനെ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ അയയ്ക്കണമെന്ന് ഞാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു;
28 so that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torments.’
൨൮എനിക്ക് അഞ്ച് സഹോദരന്മാർ ഉണ്ട്; അവരും ഈ യാതനാസ്ഥലത്തു വരാതിരിപ്പാൻ അവൻ അവരോട് സാക്ഷ്യം പറയട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
29 And Abraham said to him: ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’
൨൯അബ്രാഹാം അവനോട്: അവർക്ക് മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവരുടെ വാക്ക് അവർ കേൾക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
30 So he said: ‘No, father Abraham. But if someone were to go to them from the dead, they would repent.’
൩൦അതിന് അവൻ: അങ്ങനെ അല്ല, അബ്രാഹാംപിതാവേ, മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്ന് ഒരുവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് എങ്കിൽ അവർ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
31 But he said to him: ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe even if someone has resurrected from the dead.’”
൩൧അവൻ അവനോട്: അവർ മോശെയുടെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും വാക്ക് കേൾക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഒരുവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ചെന്നാലും വിശ്വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
