Luke 14
1 And it happened that, when Jesus entered the house of a certain leader of the Pharisees on the Sabbath to eat bread, they were observing him.
Und es begab sich, daß er kam in ein Haus eines Obersten der Pharisäer auf einen Sabbat, das Brot zu essen. Und sie hielten auf ihn.
2 And behold, a certain man before him was afflicted with edema.
Und siehe, da war ein Mensch vor ihm der war wassersüchtig.
3 And responding, Jesus spoke to the experts in the law and to the Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbath?”
Und Jesus antwortete und sagte zu den Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäern und sprach: Ist's auch recht, auf den Sabbat heilen?
4 But they kept silent. Yet truly, taking hold of him, he healed him and sent him away.
Sie aber schwiegen stille. Und er griff ihn an und heilete ihn und ließ ihn gehen.
5 And responding to them, he said, “Which of you will have a donkey or an ox fall into a pit, and will not promptly pull him out, on the day of the Sabbath?”
Und antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Welcher ist unter euch, dem sein Ochse oder Esel in den Brunnen fällt, und er nicht alsbald ihn herauszieht am Sabbattage?
6 And they were unable to respond to him about these things.
Und sie konnten ihm darauf nicht wieder Antwort geben.
7 Then he also told a parable, to those who were invited, noticing how they chose the first seats at the table, saying to them:
Er sagte aber ein Gleichnis zu den Gästen, da, er merkte, wie sie erwähleten, obenan zu sitzen, und sprach zu ihnen:
8 “When you are invited to a wedding, do not sit down in the first place, lest perhaps someone more honored than yourself may have been invited by him.
Wenn du von jemand geladen wirst zur Hochzeit, so setze dich nicht obenan, daß nicht etwa ein Ehrlicherer denn du von ihm geladen sei,
9 And then he who called both you and him, approaching, may say to you, ‘Give this place to him.’ And then you would begin, with shame, to take the last place.
und so dann kommt, der dich und ihn geladen hat, spreche zu dir: Weiche diesem! und du müssest dann mit Scham untenan sitzen.
10 But when you are invited, go, sit down in the lowest place, so that, when he who invited you arrives, he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the sight of those who sit at table together with you.
Sondern wenn du geladen wirst, so gehe hin und setze dich untenan, auf daß, wenn da kommt, der dich geladen hat, spreche zu dir: Freund, rücke hinauf! Dann wirst du Ehre haben vor denen, die mit dir zu Tische sitzen.
11 For everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.”
Denn wer sich selbst erhöhet, der soll erniedriget werden; und wer sich selbst erniedriget, der soll erhöhet werden.
12 Then he also said to the one who had invited him: “When you prepare a lunch or dinner, do not choose to call your friends, or your brothers, or your relatives, or your wealthy neighbors, lest perhaps they might then invite you in return and repayment would made to you.
Er sprach auch zu dem, der ihn geladen hatte: Wenn du ein Mittags -oder Abendmahl machest, so lade nicht deine Freunde noch deine Brüder noch deine Gefreundeten noch deine Nachbarn, die da reich sind, auf daß sie dich nicht etwa wieder laden, und dir vergolten werde.
13 But when you prepare a feast, call the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind.
Sondern wenn du ein Mahl machest, lade die Armen, die Krüppel, die Lahmen, die Blinden,
14 And you will be blessed because they do not have a way to repay you. So then, your recompense will be in the resurrection of the just.”
so bist du selig; denn sie haben's dir nicht zu vergelten; es wird dir aber vergolten werden in der Auferstehung der Gerechten.
15 When someone sitting at table with him had heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is he who will eat bread in the kingdom of God.”
Da aber solches hörete einer, der mit zu Tisch saß, sprach er zu ihm: Selig ist, der das Brot isset im Reich Gottes.
16 So he said to him: “A certain man prepared a great feast, and he invited many.
Er aber sprach zu ihm: Es war ein Mensch, der machte ein groß Abendmahl und lud viele dazu.
17 And he sent his servant, at the hour of the feast, to tell the invited to come; for now everything was ready.
Und sandte seinen Knecht aus zur Stunde des Abendmahls, zu sagen den Geladenen: Kommt, denn es ist alles bereit!
18 And at once they all began to make excuses. The first said to him: ‘I bought a farm, and I need to go out and see it. I ask you to excuse me.’
Und sie fingen an alle nacheinander, sich zu entschuldigen. Der erste sprach zu ihm: Ich habe einen Acker gekauft und muß hinausgehen und ihn besehen; ich bitte dich, entschuldige mich.
19 And another said: ‘I bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to examine them. I ask you to excuse me.’
Und der andere sprach: Ich habe fünf Joch Ochsen gekauft, und ich gehe jetzt hin, sie zu besehen; ich bitte dich, entschuldige mich.
20 And another said, ‘I have taken a wife, and therefore I am not able to go.’
Und der dritte sprach: Ich habe ein Weib genommen, darum kann ich nicht kommen.
21 And returning, the servant reported these things to his lord. Then the father of the family, becoming angry, said to his servant: ‘Go out quickly into the streets and neighborhoods of the city. And lead here the poor, and the disabled, and the blind, and the lame.’
Und der Knecht kam und sagte das seinem HERRN wieder. Da ward der Hausherr zornig und sprach zu seinem Knechte: Gehe aus bald auf die Straßen und Gassen der Stadt und führe die Armen und Krüppel und Lahmen und Blinden herein.
22 And the servant said: ‘It has been done, just as you ordered, lord, and there is still room.’
Und der Knecht sprach: HERR, es ist geschehen, was du befohlen hast; es ist aber noch Raum da.
23 And the lord said to the servant: ‘Go out to the highways and hedges, and compel them to enter, so that my house may be filled.
Und der HERR sprach zu dem Knechte: Gehe aus auf die Landstraßen und an die Zäune und nötige sie hereinzukommen, auf daß mein Haus voll werde.
24 For I tell you, that none of those men who were invited will taste of my feast.’”
Ich sage euch aber, daß der Männer keiner; die geladen sind; mein Abendmahl schmecken wird.
25 Now great crowds traveled with him. And turning around, he said to them:
Es ging aber viel Volks mit ihm. Und er wandte sich und sprach zu ihnen:
26 “If anyone comes to me, and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and yes, even his own life, he is not able to be my disciple.
So jemand zu mir kommt und hasset nicht seinen Vater, Mutter, Weib, Kinder, Brüder, Schwestern, auch dazu sein eigen Leben, der kann nicht mein Jünger sein.
27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after me, is not able to be my disciple.
Und wer nicht sein Kreuz trägt und mir nachfolget, der kann nicht mein Jünger sein.
28 For who among you, wanting to build a tower, would not first sit down and determine the costs that are required, to see if he has the means to complete it?
Wer ist aber unter euch, der einen Turm bauen will und sitzt nicht zuvor und überschlägt die Kosten, ob er's habe hinauszuführen?
29 Otherwise, after he will have laid the foundation and not been able to finish it, everyone who sees it may begin to mock him,
auf daß nicht, wo er den Grund gelegt hat und kann's nicht hinausführen, alle, die es sehen, fangen an sein zu spotten
30 saying: ‘This man began to build what he was not able to finish.’
und sagen: Dieser Mensch hub an zu bauen und kann's nicht hinausführen!
31 Or, what king, advancing to engage in war against another king, would not first sit down and consider whether he may be able, with ten thousand, to meet one who comes against him with twenty thousand?
Oder welcher König will sich begeben in einen Streit wider einen andern König und sitzt nicht zuvor und ratschlagt, ob er könnte mit zehntausend begegnen dem, der über ihn kommt mit zwanzigtausend?
32 If not, then while the other is still far away, sending a delegation, he would ask him for terms of peace.
Wo nicht, so schickt er Botschaft, wenn jener noch ferne ist, und bittet um Frieden.
33 Therefore, every one of you who does not renounce all that he possesses is not able to be my disciple.
Also auch ein jeglicher unter euch, der nicht absagt allem, was er hat, kann nicht mein Jünger sein.
34 Salt is good. But if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be seasoned?
Das Salz ist ein gut Ding; wo aber das Salz dumm wird, womit wird man würzen?
35 It is useful neither in soil, nor in manure, so instead, it shall be thrown away. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Es ist weder auf das Land noch in den Mist nütze, sondern man wird's wegwerfen. Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre!
