Lamentations 5
1 Remember, O Lord, what has befallen us. Consider and look kindly upon our disgrace.
Ten en mente, oh Señor, lo que nos ha llegado; toma nota y ve nuestra vergüenza.
2 Our inheritance has been turned over to foreigners; our houses to outsiders.
Nuestra herencia se entrega a los hombres extranjeros, nuestras casas a aquellos que no son nuestros compatriotas.
3 We have become orphans without a father; our mothers are like widows.
Somos hijos sin padres, nuestras madres son como viudas.
4 We paid for our drinking water. We acquired our wood for a price.
Pagamos dinero por un vaso de agua, obtenemos nuestra madera por un precio.
5 We were dragged by our necks. Being weary, no rest was given to us.
Nuestros atacantes están sobre nuestros cuellos; vencidos con cansancio, no tenemos descanso.
6 We have given our hand to Egypt and to the Assyrians, so that we may be satisfied with bread.
Hemos dado nuestras manos a los egipcios y a los asirios para que podamos tener suficiente pan.
7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not. And we have carried their iniquities.
Nuestros padres fueron pecadores y están muertos; y el peso de su maldad está sobre nosotros.
8 Servants have become rulers over us. There was no one to redeem us from their hand.
Los siervos gobiernan sobre nosotros, y no hay nadie que nos libere de sus manos.
9 We obtained our bread at the risk of our lives, before the face of the sword, in the wilderness.
Ponemos nuestras vidas en peligro para obtener nuestro pan, enfrentándonos a la espada del desierto.
10 Our skin was burned, as if by an oven, before the face of the tempest of the famine.
Nuestra piel se calienta como un horno, debido a la fiebre que nos causa la necesidad de alimentos.
11 They humiliated the women in Zion and the virgins in the cities of Judah.
Tomaron por la fuerza a las mujeres en Sión, a las vírgenes en las ciudades de Judá.
12 The leaders were suspended by their hand. They were not ashamed before the faces of the elders.
Los príncipes fueron colgados de las manos; los rostros de los ancianos no fueron honrados.
13 They have sexually abused the adolescents, and the children were corrupted in the wood.
Los jóvenes trituraban el grano y los niños caían bajo el peso de la leña.
14 The elders have ceased from the gates, the youths from the choir of the psalms.
Los ancianos ya no están sentados en la puerta, y la música de los jóvenes ha llegado a su fin.
15 The gladness of our heart has failed, our singing has been turned into mourning.
El gozo de nuestros corazones ha terminado; Nuestro baile se transforma en dolor.
16 The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned.
La corona ha sido quitada de nuestra cabeza; el dolor es nuestro, porque somos pecadores.
17 Because of this, our heart became gloomy; for this reason, our eyes have been darkened:
Por esto nuestros corazones son débiles; por estas cosas nuestros ojos son oscuros;
18 because of mount Zion, because it was ruined. Foxes have wandered upon it.
Por la montaña de Sión que es una ruina; los chacales van y vienen.
19 But you, O Lord, shall remain for eternity, your throne from generation to generation.
Tú, oh Señor, estás sentado como Rey para siempre; El asiento de tu poder es de generación en generación.
20 Why would you forget us forever? Why would you forsake us for a long time?
¿Por qué te olvidarás de nosotros para siempre? ¿Por qué has estado alejado de nosotros durante tanto tiempo?
21 Convert us, O Lord, to you, and we shall be converted. Renew our days, as from the beginning.
Haz que volvamos a ti, Señor, y volveremos; Renueva nuestros días como en el pasado.
22 But you have utterly rejected us; you are vehemently angry against us.
Pero nos has rechazado por completo; Estás lleno de ira contra nosotros.
