John 15
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.
"Ich bin der wahre Weinstock; mein Vater ist der Weingärtner.
2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he will take away. And each one that does bear fruit, he will cleanse, so that it may bring forth more fruit.
Er schneidet jeden Rebzweig an mir ab, der keine Frucht bringt; jeden aber, der Frucht trägt, reinigt er, damit er noch mehr Frucht trage.
3 You are clean now, because of the word that I have spoken to you.
Ihr seid schon rein des Wortes wegen, das ich zu euch gesprochen habe.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. Just as the branch is not able to bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so also are you unable, unless you abide in me.
Bleibt in mir, dann bleibe ich in euch. Wie der Rebzweig aus sich selbst keine Frucht bringen kann, wenn er nicht am Weinstock bleibt, also auch ihr nicht, wenn ihr nicht in mir bleibt.
5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit. For without me, you are able to do nothing.
Ich bin der Weinstock; ihr seid die Rebzweige. Wer in mir bleibt, und der, in dem ich bleibe, bringt viel Frucht; getrennt von mir, könnt ihr nichts tun.
6 If anyone does not abide in me, he will be cast away, like a branch, and he will wither, and they will gather him and cast him into the fire, and he burns.
Wer nicht in mir bleibt, wird wie ein Rebzweig weggeworfen und verdorrt; man sucht sie dann zusammen, wirft sie ins Feuer und verbrennt sie.
7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, then you may ask for whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.
Wenn ihr in mir bleibt und meine Worte in euch bleiben, so mögt ihr bitten, um was ihr wollt, es wird euch zuteil werden.
8 In this, my Father is glorified: that you should bring forth very much fruit and become my disciples.
Dadurch wird mein Vater verherrlicht, daß ihr reiche Frucht bringt und meine Jünger werdet.
9 As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Abide in my love.
Wie mich der Vater geliebt hat, so habe auch ich euch geliebt. Bleibt in meiner Liebe!
10 If you keep my precepts, you shall abide in my love, just as I also have kept my Father’s precepts and I abide in his love.
Wenn ihr meine Gebote haltet, dann bleibt ihr in meiner Liebe, so wie auch ich die Gebote meines Vaters gehalten habe und in seiner Liebe bleibe.
11 These things I have spoken to you, so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be fulfilled.
Das habe ich zu euch gesagt, damit meine Freude in euch sei und eure Freude vollendet werde.
12 This is my precept: that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
Das ist mein Gebot: Liebet einander, so wie ich euch geliebt habe.
13 No one has a greater love than this: that he lay down his life for his friends.
Niemand hat eine größere Liebe, als wer sein Leben einsetzt für seine Freunde.
14 You are my friends, if you do what I instruct you.
Ihr seid meine Freunde, wenn ihr tut, was ich euch auftrage.
15 I will no longer call you servants, for the servant does not know what his Lord is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything whatsoever that I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.
Ich nenne euch nicht mehr Knechte; der Knecht weiß nicht, was sein Herr tut. Freunde habe ich euch genannt; denn ich habe euch alles geoffenbart, was ich von meinem Vater gehört habe.
16 You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. And I have appointed you, so that you may go forth and bear fruit, and so that your fruit may last. Then whatever you have asked of the Father in my name, he shall give to you.
Nicht ihr habt mich erwählt, sondern ich habe euch erwählt und euch bestellt, damit ihr hingeht und Frucht bringt und eure Frucht von Dauer sei, damit euch der Vater alles gebe, um was ihr ihn in meinem Namen bittet.
17 This I command you: that you love one another.
Nur dies ist mein Gebot: Liebet einander!
18 If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before you.
Wenn die Welt euch haßt, bedenket, daß sie mich vor euch gehaßt hat.
19 If you had been of the world, the world would love what is its own. Yet truly, you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world; because of this, the world hates you.
Ja, wäret ihr aus der Welt, so würde die Welt ihr Eigenes lieben. Da ihr aber nicht aus der Welt seid, vielmehr ich euch aus der Welt auserwählt habe, so haßt euch die Welt.
20 Remember my saying that I told you: The servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.
Denkt an das Wort, das ich zu euch gesprochen habe: Ein Knecht ist nicht höher als sein Herr. Wenn sie mich verfolgt haben, so werden sie auch euch verfolgen; und haben sie mein Wort bewahrt, so werden sie auch das eurige bewahren.
21 But all these things they will do to you because of my name, for they do not know him who sent me.
Doch all dies werden sie um meines Namens willen euch antun, weil sie den nicht kennen, der mich gesandt hat.
22 If I had not come and had not spoken to them, they would not have sin. But now they have no excuse for their sin.
Wäre ich nicht gekommen und hätte nicht zu ihnen gesprochen, so hätten sie keine Sünde; nun aber haben sie für ihre Sünde keine Entschuldigung.
23 Whoever hates me, hates my Father also.
Wer mich haßt, haßt auch meinen Vater.
24 If I had not accomplished among them works that no other person has accomplished, they would not have sin. But now they have both seen me, and they have hated me and my Father.
Hätte ich nicht Taten unter ihnen vollbracht, wie sie kein anderer vollbracht hat, dann hätten sie keine Sünde. Nun aber haben sie gesehen, und dennoch hassen sie mich und meinen Vater.
25 But this is so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law: ‘For they hated me without cause.’
Aber das Wort, das in ihrem Gesetze steht, mußte in Erfüllung gehen: 'Sie haßten mich ganz ohne Grund.'
26 But when the Advocate has arrived, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will offer testimony about me.
Wenn dann der Beistand kommt, den ich euch vom Vater senden werde, der Geist der Wahrheit, der vom Vater ausgeht, so wird er Zeugnis über mich ablegen.
27 And you shall offer testimony, because you are with me from the beginning.”
Auch ihr sollt Zeugnis ablegen, weil ihr von Anfang an bei mir seid,"
