John 12
1 Then six days before the Passover, Jesus went to Bethania, where Lazarus had died, whom Jesus raised up.
೧ಪಸ್ಕ ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನು ಆರು ದಿನಗಳು ಇರಲಾಗಿ ಯೇಸುವು, ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ ಲಾಜರನು ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬೇಥಾನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.
2 And they made a dinner for him there. And Martha was ministering. And truly, Lazarus was one of those who were sitting at table with him.
೨ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಮಾರ್ಥಳು ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಲಾಜರನು ಆತನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
3 And then Mary took twelve ounces of pure spikenard ointment, very precious, and she anointed the feet of Jesus, and she wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.
೩ಆಗ ಮರಿಯಳು ಬಹು ಬೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ ಜಟಮಾಂಸಿ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಸೇರಷ್ಟು ತಂದು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಪಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ತನ್ನ ತಲೆ ಕೂದಲಿನಿಂದ ಆತನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಒರಸಿದಳು. ಆ ತೈಲದ ಪರಿಮಳವು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು.
4 Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was soon to betray him, said,
೪ಆಗ ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಅಂದರೆ, ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ಕರಿಯೋತ ಯೂದನೆಂಬುವನು,
5 “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the needy?”
೫“ಈ ತೈಲವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿನಾಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಿ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬಹುದಿತ್ತಲ್ಲಾ?” ಎಂದನು.
6 Now he said this, not out of concern for the needy, but because he was a thief and, since he held the purse, he used to carry what was put into it.
೬ಅವನು ಬಡವರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕನಿಕರದಿಂದ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಕಳ್ಳನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಹಣದ ಚೀಲವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರಲಾಗಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಉಪಯೋಗಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು, ಆದುದರಿಂದಲೇ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 But Jesus said: “Permit her, so that she may keep it against the day of my burial.
೭ಆಗ ಯೇಸುವು, “ಈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡಿರಿ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿ ಮಾಡುವ ದಿನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈಕೆಯು ಇದನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಳು ಎಂದಿರಲಿ.
8 For the poor, you have with you always. But me, you do always not have.”
೮ಬಡವರು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದನು.
9 Now a great multitude of the Jews knew that he was in that place, and so they came, not so much because of Jesus, but so that they might see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.
೯ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಗುಂಪು ಆತನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು, ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಆತನು ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ ಲಾಜರನನ್ನೂ ಸಹ ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
10 And the leaders of the priests planned to put Lazarus to death also.
೧೦ಆದರೆ ಮುಖ್ಯಯಾಜಕರು ಲಾಜರನನ್ನೂ ಸಹ ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದರು.
11 For many of the Jews, because of him, were going away and were believing in Jesus.
೧೧ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅನೇಕ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು.
12 Then, on the next day, the great crowd that had come to the feast day, when they had heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
೧೨ಮರುದಿನ ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಜನರ ಗುಂಪು ಯೇಸು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಕೇಳಿ
13 took branches of palm trees, and they went ahead to meet him. And they were crying out: “Hosanna! Blessed is he who arrives in the name of the Lord, the king of Israel!”
೧೩ಖರ್ಜೂರದ ಗರಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಆತನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಊರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಹೊಸನ್ನ! ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವವನಿಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ; ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಶುಭವಾಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿದರು.
14 And Jesus found a small donkey, and he sat upon it, just as it is written:
೧೪ಯೇಸು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಕತ್ತೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು.
15 “Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your king arrives, sitting on the colt of a donkey.”
೧೫ಹೀಗೆ, “ಚೀಯೋನ್ ನಗರಿಯೇ, ಹೆದರಬೇಡ ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ಅರಸನು ಕತ್ತೆಮರಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂಬ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರಿತು.
16 At first, his disciples did not realize these things. But when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that these things happened to him.
೧೬ಇದು ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಮೊದಲು ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದು ಆತನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವಂತೆಯೇ, ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆವೆಂದೂ ನೆನಪು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
17 And so the crowd that had been with him, when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead, offered testimony.
೧೭ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆತನು ಲಾಜರನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕರೆದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರೇ ಈ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
18 Because of this, too, the crowd went out to meet him. For they heard that he had accomplished this sign.
೧೮ಆತನು ಈ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲೂ ಜನರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಲು ಬಂದರು.
19 Therefore, the Pharisees said among themselves: “Do you see that we are accomplishing nothing? Behold, the entire world has gone after him.”
೧೯ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು, “ನಮ್ಮ ಯತ್ನವೇನೂ ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ ನೋಡಿರಿ, ಲೋಕವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆತನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಯಿತಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
20 Now there were certain Gentiles among those who went up so that they might worship on the feast day.
೨೦ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಗ್ರೀಕರಿದ್ದರು.
21 Therefore, these approached Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and they petitioned him, saying: “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”
೨೧ಇವರು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬೇತ್ಸಾಯಿದ ಊರಿನ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಅಯ್ಯಾ, ನಾವು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆಂದು” ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
22 Philip went and told Andrew. Next, Andrew and Philip told Jesus.
೨೨ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನು ಬಂದು ಅಂದ್ರೆಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅಂದ್ರೆಯನು ಹಾಗೂ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪನೂ ಬಂದು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
23 But Jesus answered them by saying: “The hour arrives when the Son of man shall be glorified.
೨೩ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಮಹಿಮೆ ಹೊಂದುವ ಗಳಿಗೆಯು ಬಂದಿದೆ.
24 Amen, amen, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it yields much fruit.
೨೪ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಗೋದಿಯ ಕಾಳು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸಾಯದಿದ್ದರೆ ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುವುದು. ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಸತ್ತರೆ ಬಹಳ ಫಲ ಕೊಡುವುದು
25 Whoever loves his life, will lose it. And whoever hates his life in this world, preserves it unto eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
೨೫ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹಿಂಜರಿಯದವನು ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. (aiōnios g166)
26 If anyone serves me, let him follow me. And where I am, there too my minister shall be. If anyone has served me, my Father will honor him.
೨೬ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನಾದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಲಿ, ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಇರುತ್ತೇನೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನೂ ಸಹ ಇರುವನು. ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನಾದರೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸುವನು.
27 Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say? Father, save me from this hour? But it is for this reason that I came to this hour.
೨೭ಈಗ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ತತ್ತರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಾನೇನು ಹೇಳಲಿ? ‘ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಈ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸು.’ ಆದರೆ ಈ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಈ ಗಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನಲ್ಲಾ?
28 Father, glorify your name!” And then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”
೨೮ತಂದೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸಿಕೋ” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ, “ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂಬ ಸ್ವರವು ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿತು.
29 Therefore, the crowd, which was standing near and had heard it, said that it was like thunder. Others were saying, “An Angel was speaking with him.”
೨೯ಆಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಜನರು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, “ಗುಡುಗಿತು” ಎಂದರು. ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು “ದೇವದೂತನು ಈತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು” ಎಂದರು.
30 Jesus responded and said: “This voice came, not for my sake, but for your sakes.
೩೦ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಈ ಶಬ್ದವು ನನಗಾಗಿ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿಮಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಆಯಿತು.
31 Now is the judgment of the world. Now will the prince of this world be cast out.
೩೧ಈಗ ಈ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈಗ ಇಹಲೋಕಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ಹೊರಗೆ ನೂಕಲ್ಪಡುವನು
32 And when I have been lifted up from the earth, I will draw all things to myself.”
೩೨ಆದರೆನಾನು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ನಂತರ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೆಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
33 (Now he said this, signifying what kind of death he would die.)
೩೩ತಾನು ಎಂಥಾ ಮರಣವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸಿ ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
34 The crowd answered him: “We have heard, from the law, that the Christ remains forever. And so how can you say, ‘The Son of man must be lifted up?’ Who is this Son of man?” (aiōn g165)
೩೪ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಜನರು, “ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಸದಾಕಾಲ ಇರುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನೀನು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ? ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದರು. (aiōn g165)
35 Therefore, Jesus said to them: “For a brief time, the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. But whoever walks in darkness does not know where is he going.
೩೫ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲವೇ ಬೆಳಕು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಕತ್ತಲೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಸುಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಇರುವಾಗಲೇ ನಡೆಯಿರಿ. ಕತ್ತಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ತಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯನು.
36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may be sons of the Light.” Jesus spoke these things, and then he went away and hid himself from them.
೩೬ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಇರುವಾಗಲೇ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ನಂಬಿರಿ. ನಂಬಿದರೆ ನೀವು ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾರಾಗುವಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಇದನ್ನು ಯೇಸು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡನು.
37 And although he had done such great signs in their presence, they did not believe in him,
೩೭ಯೇಸು ಅನೇಕ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ನಂಬಲಿಲ್ಲ.
38 so that the word of the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, which says: “Lord, who has believed in our hearing? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
೩೮ಇದರಿಂದ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆಶಾಯನು ನುಡಿದ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರಿತು, ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಯಾರು ನಂಬಿದರು? ಕರ್ತನ ಭುಜ ಬಲವು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಗೋಚರವಾಯಿತು?” ಎಂಬುದೇ.
39 Because of this, they were not able to believe, for Isaiah said again:
೩೯ಅವರು ನಂಬಲಾರದೇ ಹೋದುದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರಣವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ,
40 “He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, so that they may not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted: and then I would heal them.”
೪೦“ಅವರು ಕಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದ ಕಾಣದೆ, ಹೃದಯದಿಂದ ಗ್ರಹಿಸದೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಹೇಗೂ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದದೆ ಇರುವಂತೆ, ಆತನು ಅವರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರುಡುಮಾಡಿ ಅವರ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಮಾಡಿದನು” ಎಂಬುದೇ.
41 These things Isaiah said, when he saw his glory and was speaking about him.
೪೧ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
42 Yet truly, many of the leaders also believed in him. But because of the Pharisees, they did not confess him, so that they would not be cast out of the synagogue.
೪೨ಆದರೂ ಹಿರೀಸಭೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಅನೇಕರು ಆತನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದರು, ಆದರೆ ತಮಗೆ ಸಭೆಯಿಂದ ಬಹಿಷ್ಕಾರವಾದೀತೆಂದು, ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅವರು ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಜನರ ಮುಂದೆ ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
43 For they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.
೪೩ಅವರು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೆಗಿಂತ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
44 But Jesus cried out and said: “Whoever believes in me, does not believe in me, but in him who sent me.
೪೪ಯೇಸು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತೇನಂದರೆ, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನೇ ನಂಬುವವನಲ್ಲದೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಾತನನ್ನು ಸಹ ನಂಬುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
45 And whoever sees me, sees him who sent me.
೪೫ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಾತನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
46 I have arrived as a light to the world, so that all who believe in me might not remain in darkness.
೪೬ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ಕತ್ತಲಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬಾರದೆಂದು, ನಾನು ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
47 And if anyone has heard my words and not kept them, I do not judge him. For I did not come so that I may judge the world, but so that I may save the world.
೪೭ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ನಡೆಯದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನಷ್ಟೇ.
48 Whoever despises me and does not accept my words has one who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him on the last day.
೪೮ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸದೆ ಇರುವವನಿಗೆ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುವಂಥದ್ದು ಒಂದು ಇದೆ. ಅದು ನಾನು ಆಡುವ ಮಾತೇ, ಕಡೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುವುದು.
49 For I am not speaking from myself, but from the Father who sent me. He gave a commandment to me as to what I should say and how I should speak.
೪೯ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇದನ್ನು ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನಾನು ಏನು ಹೇಳಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಹೇಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕು, ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. Therefore, the things that I speak, just as the Father has said to me, so also do I speak.” (aiōnios g166)
೫೦ಆತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯು ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಂದೆ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ” ಎಂದನು. (aiōnios g166)
