Jeremiah 45

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch, the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book, from the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, saying:

യെഹൂദാരാജാവും യോശിയാവിന്റെ മകനുമായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ നാലാമാണ്ടിൽ നേര്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരൂക്ക് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുത്തതനുസരിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതി. പിന്നീട് ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ യിരെമ്യാവ് ബാരൂക്കിന് പറഞ്ഞുകൊടുക്കുകയുണ്ടായി:

2 “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to you, Baruch:

“ബാരൂക്കേ, ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോട് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:

3 You have said: ‘Woe to me, a wretched man! For the Lord has added sorrow to my sorrow. I have labored in my groaning, and I have not found rest.’

‘എനിക്ക് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! എന്റെ വേദനയോടൊപ്പം യഹോവ എനിക്കു ദുഃഖവും കൂട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞരക്കംകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ തളർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്ക് ഒരു ആശ്വാസം ലഭിക്കുന്നില്ല,’ എന്നു നീ പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

4 Thus says the Lord: So shall you say to him: Behold, those whom I have built up, I destroy, and those whom I have planted, I uproot, even this entire land.

എന്നാൽ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നതിനായി യഹോവ എന്നോട് കൽപ്പിച്ചത്: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു, ‘ഭൂമിയിലെങ്ങും ഞാൻ പണിതതിനെ ഇടിച്ചുകളയും; ഞാൻ നട്ടതിനെ ഞാൻ പറിച്ചുകളയും.

5 And are you seeking great things for yourself? Do not choose to seek them. For behold, I will lead evil over all that is flesh, says the Lord. But I will give your life to you unto salvation, in every place, wherever you may travel.”

അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ നീ നിനക്കായിത്തന്നെ വലിയ കാര്യങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷിക്കണമോ? അന്വേഷിക്കരുത്. കാരണം ഞാൻ സകലജനത്തിന്മേലും വിനാശംവരുത്തും, എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്. എന്നാൽ നീ പോകുന്നിടത്തെല്ലാം നിന്റെ ജീവൻ കഷ്ടിച്ച് ഞാൻ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തും,’ എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.”
