< Isaiah 3 >

1 For behold, the sovereign Lord of hosts will take away, from Jerusalem and from Judah, the powerful and the strong: all the strength from bread, and all the strength from water;
Wi. Seyè a, Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a, pral koupe viv tout moun nan lavil Jerizalèm ak nan peyi Jida. P'ap gen pen, p'ap gen dlo.
2 the strong man, and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the seer and the elder;
P'ap gen vanyan gason ankò ni sòlda. P'ap gen jij ankò ni pwofèt. P'ap gen divinò ankò ni grandèt.
3 the leader over fifty and the honorable in appearance; and the counselor, and the wise among builders, and the skillful in mystical speech.
P'ap gen kaptenn, p'ap gen majistra ni moun ki pou bay konsèy. P'ap gen moun ki konn fè maji, ni moun ki konn moute batri.
4 And I will provide children as their leaders, and the effeminate will rule over them.
M'ap pran jenn timoun san esperyans m'a mete chèf pou gouvènen yo.
5 And the people will rush, man against man, and each one against his neighbor. The child shall rebel against the elder, and the ignoble against the noble.
Tout moun pral chache pwofite yonn sou lòt, zanmi sou zanmi, vwazen sou vwazen. Jennmoun p'ap respekte granmoun. Vakabon ap pase moun debyen nan betiz.
6 For a man will apprehend his brother, from the household of his own father, saying: “The vestment is yours. Be our leader, but let this ruin be under your hand.”
Yon lè menm, tout yon branch fanmi va chwazi yonn nan mitan yo. Y'a di l' konsa: Ou menm ki gen rad pou ou mete sou ou, n'ap mete ou chèf pou ou ka dirije nou nan move pa n'ap pase koulye a.
7 In that day, he will respond by saying: “I am not a healer, and there is no bread or vestment in my house. Do not choose to appoint me as a leader of the people.”
Men, moun yo chwazi a va reponn: Non. Mwen pa dòktè, mwen pa ka fè anyen pou nou! Ni tou, mwen pa gen manje, m' pa gen rad lakay mwen. Pa mete m' chèf sou pèp la.
8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah has fallen, because their words and their plans are against the Lord, in order to provoke the eyes of his majesty.
Wi, lavil Jerizalèm bannann! Peyi Jida a nan tou sa ki pa bon! Paske tou sa yo di, tou sa yo fè pa dakò ak sa Seyè a vle. Devan tout moun y'ap kenbe tèt ak Bondye ki gen tout pouvwa a.
9 The acknowledgement of their countenance is their response. For they have proclaimed their own sin, like Sodom; and they have not concealed it. Woe to their souls! For evils are being repaid to them.
10 Tell the just man that it is well, for he shall eat from the fruit from his own plans.
Se pou nou di: Ala bèl bagay pou moun ki mache dwat yo! Zafè yo mache byen tou. Y'a jwi pwofi travay yo.
11 Woe to the impious man immersed in evil! For retribution will be given to him from his own hands.
Men, pòv mechan yo, malè ap tonbe sou yo. Y'a fè yo peye pou sa yo fè a.
12 As for my people, their oppressors have despoiled them, and women have ruled over them. My people, who call you blessed, the same are deceiving you and disrupting the path of your steps.
Sa fè m' lapenn pou pèp mwen an! Se yon timoun k'ap prije yo, se fanm k'ap kòmande yo. Sa fè m' lapenn anpil wi pou nou, pèp mwen an! Chèf yo fè nou pèdi chemen nou. Yo mele nou. Nou pa konn ki wout pou nou pran.
13 The Lord stands for judgment, and he stands to judge the people.
Seyè a kanpe pou l' denonse sa yo fè a. Li pare pou l' jije pèp li a.
14 The Lord will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and with their leaders. For you have been devouring the vineyard, and the plunder from the poor is in your house.
Seyè a rele chèf fanmi yo ak lòt chèf pèp li a nan tribinal. L'ap denonse yo. Li di konsa: Se nou menm ki fin piye jaden rezen yo. N'ap vòlò pòv malere yo pou nou plen kay nou.
15 Why do you wear down my people, and grind up the faces of the poor, says the Lord, the God of hosts?
Nou pa gen dwa kraze pèp mwen an konsa. Nou pa gen dwa pwofite konsa sou pòv yo. Se mwen menm, Seyè ki gen tout pouvwa a, ki pale.
16 And the Lord said: Because the daughters of Zion have been lifted up, and have walked with extended necks and winking eyes, because they have continued on, walking noisily and advancing with a pretentious stride,
Seyè a di: Gade jan medam lavil Jerizalèm yo ye non! Y'ap mache tankou yo pa kanmarad pesonn. Yo kage tèt yo dèyè, y'ap fè mesye yo je dou. Y'ap mache banda pou braslè nan pye yo ka sonnen.
17 the Lord will make the heads of the daughters of Zion bald, and the Lord will strip them of the locks of their hair.
Men, mwen menm Bondye, m'ap pini yo. M'ap kale tèt yo tou blanch, m'ap kite yo san cheve.
18 In that day, the Lord will take away their decorative shoes,
Jou sa a, Bondye va wete tout bijou yo gen sou yo: braslè yo mete nan pye yo, bando yo mare nan tèt yo, meday yo mare sou fwon yo,
19 and the little moons and chains, and the necklaces and bracelets, and the hats,
zanno, braslè yo mete nan bra yo, ak vwal yo mete sou tèt yo,
20 and the ornaments for their hair, and the anklets, and the touches of myrrh and little bottles of perfumes, and the earrings,
mouchwa yo mare tèt yo, ti chenn yo mete nan pye yo, bèl senti yo, poban odè yo, bwòch yo,
21 and the rings, and the jewels hanging on their foreheads,
bag yo, zanno pou nen yo,
22 and the continual changes in appearance, and the short skirts, and the fine linens and embroidered cloths,
bèl rad swa yo, foula yo, chal yo, bous yo,
23 and the mirrors, and scarves, and ribbons, and their sparse clothing.
glas yo, rad twal fin yo, madras yo ak vwal dantèl yo mete sou tèt yo.
24 And in place of a sweet fragrance, there will be stench. And in place of a belt, there will be a rope. And in place of stylish hair, there will be baldness. And in place of a blouse, there will be haircloth.
Yo p'ap sèvi ak odè ankò, y'ap santi move. Yo p'ap sèvi ak bèl senti ankò. Y'a mare ren yo ak kòd. Yo p'ap gen cheve pou yo fè bèl kwafi, tèt yo va kale tou blanch. Yo p'ap gen bèl rad pou mete sou yo, y'a vlope kò yo nan sak. Yo p'ap fè figi yo bèl ankò. Y'ap tanpe yo nan figi ak fè wouj tankou esklav.
25 Likewise, your most handsome men will fall by the sword, and your strong men will fall in battle.
Tout mesye yo pral mouri nan lagè. Tout sòlda yo pral mouri nan batay.
26 And her gates will grieve and mourn. And she will sit on the ground, desolate.
Moun pral plenn nan pòtay lavil yo, y'ap nan lapenn. Lavil la ap tankou yon fanm ki chita atè, san rad sou li.
